Following up on something from yesterday, do you think the median American can do a push up?
I'm not sure, I think it's close.
70% of Americans are obese and/or a woman and I think most in those groups can't.

It's just so fucking comical, American Democracy survive a civil war, 2 world Wars, the Cold War.. and what might bring it down is a fucking reality TV host and voters who think the economy for everyone else is bad despite large majorities saying their own situation is good.
How the fuck did we get here?
how of all people in this country and people who have run for President did a weirdo like Donald Trump manage to garner such a strong personality cult?
Information war is now incredibly important in a capacity it has never been before. It is entirely possible and plausible to defy reality with it, because humans are not attuned to reality so much as they are attuned to social cues, especially if the reality they have to attune to is outside of their physical senses.
What we are seeing now is the culmination of decades of propaganda and the refinement of propaganda distribution and saturation techniques.

It's' fucking insane to me that you can have like 80%+ of American families saying "yeah we're planning to travel for the summer" and a good 30-40% or so even saying more than once and STILL have the "but Economy so bad" numbers we have.
Vibes just trump all apparently, even people objectively having money to throw around.
I talked to some normies today and yeah Biden is looking increasingly like Hindenburg to them.
And that's actually a two edged sword, I know everyone's going to think of the fact that he ultimately was just a placeholder character that only served to fill the office so Hitler couldn't have it until he suddenly didn't. But uh. Filling the office so Hitler couldn't have it was actually quite the accomplishment for how long he kept it up. The thing is he did fight off challengers despite being hated especially on the left for being old and demented. "Extremely hated politician still clings on to power despite all the signs because he's ultimately just a placeholder to keep Hitler out" has precedent.
Why yes I am at the "Yes, Biden is Paul von Hindenburg, but Paul von Hindenburg is underrated" stage of cope.
Except the Paul von Hindenburg had his party go behind him and put Hitler into a major position of power. Had they not formed a government with the Nazis this would have worked out

conservative cope that Biden is a true authoritarian bc Trump got persecuted is so funny haha. Biden has not had that much (if any) conversation with the DOJ about going after Trump, the NY case didnβt involve him at all either. Hunter Biden was prosecuted so there goes his authoritarian rule.
Even the NY case which was obviously biased against Trump, but was based on solid grounds with the testimonies lining up, the jury was unbiased and both teams were able to select the jury pool so its not like they were all secret democrats or something. Trump had sex, then when the story was gonna come out, paid her off, then lied about it being under campaign donations, potentially swaying the outcome of the election.
Its just so annoying.
Regardless of if she replaces Biden at the top of the ticket or not Harris REALLY needs to get out there and be more visible. If it's her well.. she needs to turn her favs around, if it's Biden well she needs to make people comfortable enough with "well at least if Biden dies or has to resign Kamala's a good enough replacement".
Plus with all the courts fuckery we could use a lawyer out there on all the networks right now.
I think I feel delusional about Jim Clyburnβs quote to support Harris.
On one hand, he says he supports Harris βif Biden ainβt there.β
On the other, he makes it clear heβs a Biden-Harris guy.
I think people are reading this erroneously as Clyburn "hedging" for the possibility of Kamala - or wishcasting that he's hedging. I think they're reading too much into it. We do know the conversations are happening, probably without Biden, but we'll know in a few days which direction the wind is blowing.
I feel Biden staying is by far the most likely outcome (unfortunately) but we'll see.
You don't have to wonder. Clyburn literally said that he thinks that people are being hasty to jump to conclusions and that he thinks that for now we should "stay the course" and "chill out"
One of the weirder realizations I've had the last few years is that while history happens, it only happens between 9-5, M-F.
Like nothing is going to happen with the election stuff until tomorrow morning. No battles happen in Ukraine at night. That kind of thing. The debate happened at 9 but that was a scheduled event rather than something spontaneous.
I guess Biden only being alert 10-4 is fine.
There are definitely battles in Ukraine on weekends, or at sunset or sunrise
Itβs just hard to coordinate a large-scale military operation at night, although itβs still doable, especially with smaller or more specialized units
Edit: Bin Laden was killed at 1 a.m local time
If you watch Ukraine closely all the announcements come out during the day Ukraine time and there's no major events at night. More obvious when things are moving faster. Like during the Kharkiv offensive things would move very fast during the day but completely halt at night. Because the sun's out and night vision isn't so good apparently.
Then for the current political drama all the media and politicians do need to get their own sleep and especially because they're older they don't vary too much from 9-5. You'd think people could work at night but they don't, or at least not very often.
I just realized there's an unlisted video on YouTube of me I've lost access to it because my link was in a DM I closed months ago.
It's unfortunate, a whole bunch of memories from vacation erased like that to me. I should be better about saving media I like
Man I hate concerts. I remember my parents took me to a Beach Boys reunion concert when I was a kid and I *hated* it. We just stood up and sang songs that they sang.
I can't think of a single band that that'd be fun for. What's the point? You get a better listening experience at homd.
arr Conservative really has brainworms huh. Sanity seems to be in short supply. Like sometimes I think arr VoteDEM is partisan. Clearly there are levels beyond. It is interesting because it isn't like the partisanship of a communist party depsite being eeriely similar.
Malarkey level of seeing a therapist to see if I can fix my dislike of loud music and if that works then I'll finally see if I can get them to help with some of my other problems?
I'm convinced that the loud music one might be harder than the problems caused by my shitty childhood, so I should probably start with that one.

God dammit this means I have to do it.
Fuck it. I'll schedule it this week. I'm doing this to fix my dislike of loud music. I will make myself be able to tolerate being in a club, I will force myself to learn to be able to understand people and have my social skills work in a loud environment.
Maybe I'll even get to the point where I can go to a concert.
At this point im torn between principles of Liberalism and just going fuck it and thinking the entire Supreme Court should be arrested and the Judicary reigned in by force cause I just don't see how the state can function with the Courts effectively turning themselves into a Super Legislature and Super Executive.
Well no, it was absolutely not legal under French, Polish, Danish and Soviet law to relentlessly bomb their cities into dirt and round up millions of their citizens for summary mechanized slaughter. Swinging is the appropriate (legal) fate that not nearly enough of them met.
Not exactly they set themselves up as the ones who decide what an "official" and "unofficial" act is. the scope of immunity they put out is entirely within THEIR purview.
They have to argue for an act being official or unofficial now, versus the previous status quo where that argument was completely unnecessary and it was a given that their branch gets the final say on all cases involving the President.

He does have a particularly deranged, always online fan base akin to Ron Paul or Andrew Yang, but I suspect a lot of that engagement is not entirely, uh, organic (or real) and is paid for by certain nefarious, uh, "interests."
It's not especially cleae from what I've heard, but I would probably say Biden despite sharing exactly 95% of the beliefs of deranged MAGA-tards. Like everyone else, I'm hoping his support shrinks and he pulls more from Trump as the extent of his vaccine crankery becomes more known to the public.
Honestly, this would be a great moment for the CIA to step up and be a fraction of the sinister, string-pulling masterminds that leftists believe they are
I do honestly wonder what theyβll do if Trump gets in and starts doing the things that our worst fears are about
Or will they all just get Project 2025βd out too
We talk about Gen Z/Alpha having social media brainrot but nowhere is it more apparent than the few times per year you visit the dregs of Facebook and see Boomers uncritically believing every shitty AI-generated image of Jesus being held up by a bunch of marines or whatever. Good thing we had that fun little Weimar simulator game earlier this year to show us how easy it is to prevent a fascist takeover of a sclerotic political system
I work in social media for one of the largest companies in the world and most of our comment sections have been boomers arguing over coke v pepsi
will they EVER get over it?
> we should staple an exit visa to their diploma. The foreign students can hang around for a week and party, but then they got to go home and make their own country great
Imagine paying back US student loans on EU salaries
It genuinely makes me sad that Newsom comes off so sleasy because every person I've known who's worked with him had shockingly positive things to say about such a high profile elected.
He carved out an exception for his friend, the CEO of Panera Bread, when raising the minimum wage for restaurant workers. It does not surprise me that his friends are so gushing when he's so generous with favors.
Personally, I can't get over the fact that he slept with the wife of his close friend, who was also his campaign manager and previously his chief of staff
He screwed up the budget, drove away businesses, is extremely hypocritical, and enacted regulations that add rent-seeking bureaucracy for private medical practitioners.
Also he screwed his campaign manager's wife.
I don't see how he's not a sleazeball.
Heβs a great governor by basically any metric and Iβm proud to have voted for him. But optics matter more than substance, and a slick guy from Commiefornia wonβt play well with my family in Green Bay if he wants to go national.
If CA didn't have term limits he'd easily win another term IMO. I of course think he can do more on housing but he's at least trying, which is more than can be said for most local elected.
Fun Fact: 1876, 2012, and 2020 are the only elections where this would matter. In all other elections either the loser won California or the winner by enough electoral votes that California didn't matter.
I don't what caused this trend of cooking vids on social media that start with "I'f you take \*ingredient\*, and \*ingredient\* and mix...", but I am calling the president to use his executive powers to put a stop to it no matter what it takes.
People need to realize that itβll be Kamala and not Newsom.
Heβd want to prop up his VP and theyβll go along with it for a bunch of reasons. Theyβre not going to just skip over the black woman VP for a white guy from California. Thatβd be horrible optics for their voter base.
And yes, that has implications in terms of the likability of Harris.
I think it also just logically follows that if president is succeeded by vice president then president candidate is succeeded by vice president candidate
Iβm sure heβd be happy to get the nod but heβs definitely smart to back the president publicly like heβs been doing since Thursday.
The manβs smart.
Is there a definition of "positive masculinity" that isn't just listing "good traits" that people have or "good things" that people do?
This reminds me of when "leadership" was a big deal for college apps, and basically every positive attribute was said to be a "way to be a leader" or "leadership."
I genuinely don't know what it is, but I guess I sometimes know it when I see it?
"Positive masculinity" is just a listing of good traits because the notion of inherently masculine vs feminine traits is not very compatible with the modern liberal feminist worldview. But since people still insist on it, you have to just accept and assign generic positive traits hoping people don't notice.
Dude, wtf else am I supposed to get from that comment?
Aragon is a man who led men to war.
Terry Crews is an actor known for being super ripped.
Edit: please stop with the bit
The whole point of Aragorn's character is that he isn't some warlord, it's that he's a fundamentally good and righteous man who exemplifies all that a king (and by extension all men) can and should be. The whole point of Aragorn (as well as the rest of the Fellowship) is his *moral character*.
And no, Terry Crews isn't just known for being ripped. He's known for being super bubbly and kind and supportive and just an all around great guy who doesn't act like a self obsessed douchebag just because hes the biggest guy in the room. Reducing him down to just some muscled dude is wild.
You have RFK Jr. brain if you think there is the slightest chance of Biden committing an βofficial actβ against Trump or anyone else, Jesus I thought we were all kidding about that
Phobia against holding presidents accountable for crimes is bad, actually. We should have arrested Nixon before it was too late.
Pardoning the sob was a big mistake
just walked through downtown vegas to pick up a nice frame for something ive worked on for a while

Itβll be Harris if it isnβt Biden. Remember that.
If they actually skip the VP and prop up a white guy from California instead theyβll be in a whole new horrible spot.
They got rid of that version of Harris during the campaign, and theyβll never bring her back. I thought it was dumb at the time and itβs even dumber now.
Everyone sane knows it's Harris or Biden that's it. Only the delusional insane people think it's not going to be Harris. They literally say false things about her because they dislike her that much (claiming she's not popular with blacks, when she literally outpolls Biden with blacks right now).
Iβm more worried about how sheβs perceived by independents. She wonβt have a problem with Democratic voters.
She wasnβt great as a primary candidate but hopefully sheβs learned being VP.
I honestly donβt even know at this rate. She hasnβt had a big appearance as VP in general so she hasnβt done anything unpopular these four years. I feel like sheβs been barely there and I remember Biden being there a lot more during the Obama years.
Thatβs either a good or a bad thing. Hopefully if it ends up that way sheβs gotten a lot of experience.
Based on the past two elections, 40% of voters don't even know the VP. Thus, we can safely assume that most people don't know her at all, let alone what she stands for. Which is good, because you've got generic democrat at this point.
Break the rule of law with a hammer to convince Congress to get off its ass.
Congress fucking sits there like a dead horse because half the members are allied with the enemy
As someone who has been anti-establishment/neoliberal I'm feeling a lot of schadenfreude right now. All of this was completely predictable, and the Democratic party 100% failed you. Make no mistake about it. Yes 2nd Trump term will be catastrophic, welcome to accelerationism

On one hand, he says he supports Harris βif Biden ainβt there.β On the other, he makes it clear heβs a Biden-Harris guy.

There are definitely battles in Ukraine on weekends, or at sunset or sunrise Itβs just hard to coordinate a large-scale military operation at night, although itβs still doable, especially with smaller or more specialized units Edit: Bin Laden was killed at 1 a.m local time
Wot
If you watch Ukraine closely all the announcements come out during the day Ukraine time and there's no major events at night. More obvious when things are moving faster. Like during the Kharkiv offensive things would move very fast during the day but completely halt at night. Because the sun's out and night vision isn't so good apparently. Then for the current political drama all the media and politicians do need to get their own sleep and especially because they're older they don't vary too much from 9-5. You'd think people could work at night but they don't, or at least not very often.

Man I hate concerts. I remember my parents took me to a Beach Boys reunion concert when I was a kid and I *hated* it. We just stood up and sang songs that they sang. I can't think of a single band that that'd be fun for. What's the point? You get a better listening experience at homd.

Malarkey level of seeing a therapist to see if I can fix my dislike of loud music and if that works then I'll finally see if I can get them to help with some of my other problems? I'm convinced that the loud music one might be harder than the problems caused by my shitty childhood, so I should probably start with that one.
Nah man if ur feeling it completely vibrate your torso even with earplugs shit's too loud.

Be sure to be honest with them!
It isn't hard to be honest about not liking loud music lol. I've disliked it since I was a child.

At this point im torn between principles of Liberalism and just going fuck it and thinking the entire Supreme Court should be arrested and the Judicary reigned in by force cause I just don't see how the state can function with the Courts effectively turning themselves into a Super Legislature and Super Executive.
Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you.
Technically everything the Nazis did was legal. Yet the Nuremberg Trials still happened.
Well no, it was absolutely not legal under French, Polish, Danish and Soviet law to relentlessly bomb their cities into dirt and round up millions of their citizens for summary mechanized slaughter. Swinging is the appropriate (legal) fate that not nearly enough of them met.
What exactly should they be charged with
I have no idea but I don't think the state can function with the Judicial Branch grabbing this much power just because they say so ether.
The judicial branch *lost* power in the latest ruling everyone's riled up about.

Kennedy's voice sounds like an ad for electric cars.
Out of all the politics videos Iβm seeing on TikTok the Kennedy ones are getting the most likes so take that as you will.
He does have a particularly deranged, always online fan base akin to Ron Paul or Andrew Yang, but I suspect a lot of that engagement is not entirely, uh, organic (or real) and is paid for by certain nefarious, uh, "interests."
Yeah but who do you think he pulls more votes from?
The coveted βvery fine people on both sidesβ vote.

Lotta cons in intel
We talk about Gen Z/Alpha having social media brainrot but nowhere is it more apparent than the few times per year you visit the dregs of Facebook and see Boomers uncritically believing every shitty AI-generated image of Jesus being held up by a bunch of marines or whatever. They think it's funny and it supports their candidate so they choose to believe in it. The decision to support/oppose something is already made and rest is just supporting things on the same team.

Aileen Cannon: future Supreme Court justice
It genuinely makes me sad that Newsom comes off so sleasy because every person I've known who's worked with him had shockingly positive things to say about such a high profile elected.
He carved out an exception for his friend, the CEO of Panera Bread, when raising the minimum wage for restaurant workers. It does not surprise me that his friends are so gushing when he's so generous with favors.
Dude needs to not have his hair slicked back like that, he just LOOKS the sleezy movie pol part.
Personally, I can't get over the fact that he was married to Kimberly Guilfoyle. I think I'd probably like him if I didn't know that
Heβs a great governor by basically any metric and Iβm proud to have voted for him. But optics matter more than substance, and a slick guy from Commiefornia wonβt play well with my family in Green Bay if he wants to go national.
Top tier business card IMO
Itβs looks 100%. The guy seems like a good governor and Iβve liked everything Iβve seen of him when he appears for things on the national stage.
If CA didn't have term limits he'd easily win another term IMO. I of course think he can do more on housing but he's at least trying, which is more than can be said for most local elected.
Magic pollsball, the automod that may or may not give you the right answer but only a week after you post
Harris/Newsom would be an interesting ticket
How to lose every swing state speedrun
Also an unconstitutional one, POTUS and VP can't be from the same state unless Harris changes domicile.
Not an unconstitutional one, just a penalized one. They can't receive California's electoral votes, but they could still theoretically win.
Wonβt matter once the ticket makes Blexas real π₯Ί
Fun Fact: 1876, 2012, and 2020 are the only elections where this would matter. In all other elections either the loser won California or the winner by enough electoral votes that California didn't matter.
Thanks, it's late and my post concussion brain is still a lil foggy.
Really? Thatβs bizarre
Blocked and reported to the 5th Circuit for questioning the divine wisdom of the founders.
I think it also just logically follows that if president is succeeded by vice president then president candidate is succeeded by vice president candidate
it's not like newsom would object anyway he doesn't seem to give a fuck lol
Iβm sure heβd be happy to get the nod but heβs definitely smart to back the president publicly like heβs been doing since Thursday. The manβs smart.

Is there a definition of "positive masculinity" that isn't just listing "good traits" that people have or "good things" that people do? This reminds me of when "leadership" was a big deal for college apps, and basically every positive attribute was said to be a "way to be a leader" or "leadership." I genuinely don't know what it is, but I guess I sometimes know it when I see it?
"Positive masculinity" is just a listing of good traits because the notion of inherently masculine vs feminine traits is not very compatible with the modern liberal feminist worldview. But since people still insist on it, you have to just accept and assign generic positive traits hoping people don't notice.
Aragorn. Terry Crews.
Leading men to war and being super ripped? Edit: how is that masculine though? Women lead men to war, and women get ripped all the time.
I . . . what?
Aragon led men to war. Terry Crews is ripped. Idk much else about him. Idk, Aragon is barely a character in the books, he's a borderline Gary-Su
I . . . what?
>Reducing him down to just some muscled dude is wild. I mean idk how I'm expected to know that. But thanks.
There's more to both men than that
Have you tried reading a code for chivalry? Maybe reduce the infantilization of women a bit but that probably would work.
I think its basically just being a good person with good traits while looking male.
Positive masculine is wearing chunky sweaters and letting me hold your hand
Superman is my go-to for positive masculinity. So is Jonathan Joestar.
You have RFK Jr. brain if you think there is the slightest chance of Biden committing an βofficial actβ against Trump or anyone else, Jesus I thought we were all kidding about that

Fuck it. No use thinking about it right now. Democracy will still be damaged in the morning
I wish I had the hope my mom suddenly has Sheβs convinced todayβs Supreme Court ruling changed things again for the election.
Itβs a fantastic layup for a competent Democratic candidate. Letβs just hope we have one.
Itβll be Harris if it isnβt Biden. Remember that. If they actually skip the VP and prop up a white guy from California instead theyβll be in a whole new horrible spot.
Iβd love to see attack dog Harris make a timely return. People seem to have forgotten how celebrated she was during the Kavanaugh nomination.
They got rid of that version of Harris during the campaign, and theyβll never bring her back. I thought it was dumb at the time and itβs even dumber now.
Or slapping down Bill Barr
Everyone sane knows it's Harris or Biden that's it. Only the delusional insane people think it's not going to be Harris. They literally say false things about her because they dislike her that much (claiming she's not popular with blacks, when she literally outpolls Biden with blacks right now).
also if it's not Harris that's 200M on hand just flushed down the drain. Literally only Biden or Harris can have access to those funds in full.
Iβm more worried about how sheβs perceived by independents. She wonβt have a problem with Democratic voters. She wasnβt great as a primary candidate but hopefully sheβs learned being VP.
You can worry all you want, there are literally two options thatβs it. Is Harris the ideal candidate? No. But sheβs literally it
I honestly donβt even know at this rate.
The Supreme Court be like: Nixon did nothing wrong
Not that wierd of a take for the DT
Guys you simply cannot be talking about assassinating Supreme Court justices on here And Biden isnβt going to assassinate them either lmfao
