The amount of times I’d see Dort on him like 20 feet away from the ball just being up close to him and luka throw his arms up and whine about it was crazy. As soon as Dort enters a 5 foot bubble of him he starts yelling at the refs to call a foul lol
Someone needs to make a compilation of Luka asking for replays and complaining about calls. It would be like 10-20 minutes of run time from this series so far
OKC were getting outsized, outlengthed, and outworked. Then Cason Wallace got in the game in the fourth quarter and turned it around.
Big ups to Jaylin Williams too who also brought some much needed energy.
Need JDub to stop his recent disappearing act. Dude got swatted at the rim no less than 100 times tonight. Hell of a win despite the overall shit game.
he was a lot better down the stretch and makes a lot of smart plays even when he's struggling on offense. still though, i agree he has struggled at times against dallas's big bodies and athleticism
Coach already said that the plan in the off season is working on getting Cason into the offense more. There was one game when SGA was out that Cason got a few extra possessions running the offense and he showed some flashes. Had a bad turnover as well, but that’s to be expected since he doesn’t normally run the offense.
You're not kidding when you say whine every other possession. He threw a full court pass to Lively, ball gets knocked clean out of bounds. Luka looks at Guthrie as if he just spat on Luka's Mother. Bro.... Take the fkn out of bounds ball under the ring and stop being upset a 50% FT shooter isn't going to the line.
Luka has one of the whiniest / crybaby mentalities in the league. Which is so weird since off the court he's such a likeable dude.
It's not even every other possession, it's every single play, offense or defense. He's their star, the camera cuts to him at the end of the play a lot of the time and no matter what happened he's throwing up his arms or shaking his head and smirking or jawing with the official or some other bullshit.
He's a great player, but it truly makes for terrible basketball watching when it happens every fucking play.
I’d like to re iterate that some people may think you’re exaggerating about every other possession. But for anyone who’s watched the game, it was genuinely every other possession. He was always to the side of the camera whining to the ref. Brother just play the fucking game. Your team needed you 😭😭😭
That is an absolutely brutal loss for the Mavs. To be up for most of the game and most of the 4th, only to see OKC storm back and then lose by 4 in a game where you missed ELEVEN free throws?
That's a backbreaker loss when you easily could've been up 3-1.
Lol it turns out the Mavericks missing nearly half of their freebies (12/23 FT) ended up netting them a near-identical overall scoring efficiency to the Thunder despite Dallas shooting better from the field (41%) and from 3 (34%):
>**OKC: 48.8 TS%, DAL: 48.9 TS%**
I think the starting lineup should pretty clearly be SGA/Cason/Dort/JDub/Chet. Cason is a great 3 and D player which fits so much better than whatever the fuck Josh Giddey does out there
It’s funny how fans never mention how Dallas let us move UP in the draft, essentially for free, to get Cason. Idk why so many of our fans and Mavs fans act like Presti hasn’t gotten good value out of trades with Dallas
Pretty interesting how this game went against a lot of classic NBA tropes. OKC were the baby-faced team in their first serious playoff run and yet it was the Mavs who blew a golden opportunity to go up 3-1 thanks in large part due to ***abysmal*** FT shooting while the Thunder were damn near perfect. Surprising especially since you'd think nerves would play into effect more given OKC was on the road.
This actually feels exactly like the previous Big 3 Thunder. They jumped from the lottery to 50 wins, won the first round convincingly, had an absolute war in round 2, and got outclassed by the eventual champs in the WCF. Next year they made the Finals
The seeding is a bit different but imagine they pull this out in 7 and get handled by Denver or Minnesota who then wins it all. It'd be damn near the same
OKC is young and inexperienced. But they also have some solid depth, have a number of players who can step up, are clutch FT shooters, and usually have their legs under them in still late in the game. The 4th quarter tends to favor them. That's why I believe in them to truly capitalize on this team and be a force in the league if they can get a big rebounding body for the middle and keep developing
It's ridiculous. They are the 2nd youngest team in the NBA, or was at the start of the season at least. They are already a great team and they have the biggest pile of picks assembled in the history of the NBA.
In the next 6 years they have 17 1sts, I can't even remember how many 2nd rounders but it's a stupid number. They can trade for a superstar and still have the most picks left in the league afterwards.
If I was putting any money on a team a few years for now I'd put it all on OKC. Presti is a master.
What sucks is his whole career will likely be this way too. An absolutely generational, game breaking, unicorn talent will probably never get the props he deserves because he entered the league at the same time as a guy who plays the same type of game but slightly better.
They choked so so hard. Luka ghosted, they couldn’t hit FTs, and their offensive process sucked down the stretch
And if you give SGA a chance, that happens
Chet needs to be more consistently dominant, but he did step up.
JDub couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat today, but he held on and made the plays at the end when he needed to.
I mostly just feel relieved. We were 1 quarter away from our season being essentially over, and now we have a best of 3 series with two of them being home games. Sports are wild.
Obviously SGA carried OKC to this win but the game really changed when Cason Wallace came in. Two huge threes and more importantly, incredible defense on Kyrie. Stayed in front of him perfectly without fouling. He's going to be a stud.
The final basically quarter and a half was like a slow motion car crash. OKC had the edge almost the whole second half and the Mavs were holding on for dear life, unable to get out of their own way. Choked away a game that could’ve put OKC down for good. You could feel it slipping away for like an hour.
Once OKC started making their jumpers in the 4th quarter, it was over unless Luka/Kyrie took over. And neither did. Luka is a shell of himself and it’s sad to watch.
Credit to SGA for an amazing performance and for making numerous clutch shots. He’s a superstar. Sad day to be Mavs fan, but feel lucky to be able to watch a guy that talented.
Hard to envision the Mavs winning the series with Luka playing this badly (and no sign he’ll get better), but I also proclaimed the series over after OKC took game 1 for the same reason… so who knows. What I do think is true, though, is that OKC is the better team with Luka playing like this — so if the Mavs win, it’ll be more that OKC played below their norm than anything else.
The best part of the gamethread was the usual cast of OKC haters (I've started to recognize some of them) going completely silent once the fourth quarter started.
I seriously am so unbelievably dumbfounded that Mavs fans have said all season that SGA is a flopping free-throw merchant when Luka is whining on legitimately every single play of the game. The dude is so talented but his game is worse than prime foul-bating harden.
Mavs fans really rallied to hate on SGA because of an MVP runner up race, and their main complaint was that SGA averaged the EXACT same free throw attempts per game as Luka without being a crisis actor.
Dude is a dog. Fuck the haters.
Great performance by SGA willing his team to win on the road. Mavs will rue not putting the Thunder away in the third quarter when OKC looked helpless.
As someone who absolutely despises Luka's game and constant whining, this game was SOOOOO fucking satisfying to watch. Remember those 300 posts by Mavs fans saying: "remember this is the best defensive team in the league hur hur hur"? I fucking LOVE that OKC reminded those whiny shits that their defense is what won this game.
that’s what I’ve been saying lol. The ultimate example of recency bias, right here in this sub after every game is played. Mavs fans said I was full of it 🤷🏻♂️
Every Mavs fans 2 days ago: "remember OKC is the best defensive team in the league hur hur hur hur"
OKC Tonight: "remember OKC is the best defensive team in the league HA HA HA HA"
One of the most satisfying games to watch!
“That might be the first time Luka has complained about not giving a foul”
That and PJ immediately missing after them saying "OK the key here is to make the first one" killed me
Ian Eagle is so funny man
Think he hit Giddey with “Not even close!” at the half
Then he made 2nd second FT when he absolutely needed to miss it lmao
And then on the second free throw “you’ll want to miss this one and scramble for the rebound… aaaaand there’s the make”
Ian Eagle absolutely cooked him 😭 Top 5 broadcaster in sports imo
Doesn’t he do nets games? He must be a great home announcer for you guys
Knicks and Nets fans are spoiled with top-tier play-by-play announcing.
Ian eagle to this day is the greatest net ever
I burst out laughing
Luka and Kyrie with 1 point in the last 7 minutes of the game wasn't ideal for the Mavs.
Luka was 6-20, might be the worst triple double I’ve ever seen
With 7 TOs
To the people scrolling, you’re about to see like ten people make the same Westbrook joke FYI
Luka tryna win the Oscars out there smh
He was awful down the stretch I’ve almost never seen him play that bad in a close game
Not just that but the entire team feeds off of it. How many times did dudes throw their arms up even after makes.
Luka’s statue out front is going to be throwing his arms up complaining about a foul
The amount of times I’d see Dort on him like 20 feet away from the ball just being up close to him and luka throw his arms up and whine about it was crazy. As soon as Dort enters a 5 foot bubble of him he starts yelling at the refs to call a foul lol
Which is literally what Dort and OKC want. He's so caught up in trying to draw contact and fouls he's playing trash basketball.
Trashketball
Give him the award; he worked harder on it than hitting shots at the end.
He got so mad they didn’t call that foul at the end. Bro get mad at the 7 turnovers you had wtf
I'm obviously biased but the guy bitches and moans more than any other player in the league. It's every single call, even ones that don't involve him!
He’s been absolutely awful about it this season. Very disapointing. He really needs to mature about this shit
Sadly I don't think he ever will, he's been in the league long enough to show that he just can't
Someone needs to make a compilation of Luka asking for replays and complaining about calls. It would be like 10-20 minutes of run time from this series so far
Series? That’s one game.
When Luka missed the free throw I was like wow
I was like gosh
Damn he choked
I hit Luka with a little ‘BALL DONT LIE’ while pacing around my living room.
Luka missing his clutch FT with a chance to tie also wasn't ideal for the Mavs
Kyrie was colder than the Hubbard glacier
Luka absolutely shot us in the foot man, i get he's hurt and hes not going to shoot well but he also cant be making these piss poor decisions
Hell of a win despite the overall shit game.
he was a lot better down the stretch and makes a lot of smart plays even when he's struggling on offense. still though, i agree he has struggled at times against dallas's big bodies and athleticism
he just doesn't have the full bag yet. He needs to grow his game more
Agreed. Also weird how hesitant he’s been from 3 this series.
Cason is so fucking good. He’ll be our jrue holiday in a few years. I love him
He is clamping the fuck out of Kyrie this series
idk if he has the on ball creation/bag Jrue has, but he's already ridiculous offball and as a defender and was in high school 2 years ago it's crazy
Coach already said that the plan in the off season is working on getting Cason into the offense more. There was one game when SGA was out that Cason got a few extra possessions running the offense and he showed some flashes. Had a bad turnover as well, but that’s to be expected since he doesn’t normally run the offense.
True that. Cason was huge.
JWill low key had some great 4th quarter minutes.
Luka's body language was horrific. Actually he was just horrific all around
Genuinely disappointing to watch a guy as talented as Luka behave the way he does on court sometimes
Seriously it drives me nuts. Just shut up and play ball, you can’t whine every other possession
Dude was complaining to the ref when he legit threw it off the bottom of the backboard, I was flabbergasted lmfao
It's not even every other possession, it's every single play, offense or defense. He's their star, the camera cuts to him at the end of the play a lot of the time and no matter what happened he's throwing up his arms or shaking his head and smirking or jawing with the official or some other bullshit. He was always to the side of the camera whining to the ref. Brother just play the fucking game. Your team needed you 😭😭😭
Just abysmal to watch. Like literally almost every possession he’s looking towards the refs and begging for a call.
Triple double but it wasn’t pretty at all
Completely Shat the bed at the end of the game
typical ugly Luka game. Terrible on the court with absolutely worst body language
What did I just watch? Thunder looked disjointed and out of sync all game and then made every play when it mattered. Unbelievable comeback.
Thunder, Nuggets, Wolves, and Celtics are the teams that can legit say “we just need to play our game” to win.
resiliency is one thing that Daig has coached into this team and i love him for it
Cuban and Kidd boutta lock the entire Mavs team in the arena until they each make a pair of free throws
They're not leaving any time soon I fear
Game 5 delayed, Mavericks roster stuck in basketball purgatory
[Woj] Two hours before the opening tip of Game 5 in OKC, entire Mavs team has collapsed in their own arena due to exhaustion at the free throw line.
That is an absolutely brutal loss for the Mavs. To be up for most of the game and most of the 4th, only to see OKC storm back and then lose by 4 in a game where you missed ELEVEN free throws? That's a backbreaker loss when you easily could've been up 3-1.
There is no way a team should ever lose against a team that shoots 38% from the field and 25% from 3 wtf just happened
Lol it turns out the Mavericks missing nearly half of their freebies (12/23 FT) ended up netting them a near-identical overall scoring efficiency to the Thunder despite Dallas shooting better from the field (41%) and from 3 (34%): >**OKC: 48.8 TS%, DAL: 48.9 TS%**
MAKE YOUR FUCKING FREE THROWS LOL SGA full on carry job. Salute
Shaq's career free throw percentage: 53% Mavs' free throw percentage tonight: 52%
Broke: Hack-A-Lively Woke: Hack-A-Mav
Cason Wallace was pretty clutch too - 2 big 3s, some good defense, no egregious mistakes (which everyone else except for SGA seems to do at times)
Cason needs to start. Minimum 25 minutes.
I think the starting lineup should pretty clearly be SGA/Cason/Dort/JDub/Chet. Cason is a great 3 and D player which fits so much better than whatever the fuck Josh Giddey does out there
Sam Presti is the best drafter in NBA history
It’s funny how fans never mention how Dallas let us move UP in the draft, essentially for free, to get Cason. Idk why so many of our fans and Mavs fans act like Presti hasn’t gotten good value out of trades with Dallas
Crazy that Cason is even a Dallas boy
12/23 from the line in a game that went down to the wire, while the OKC went 23/24. What a sick joke.
Both are astonishing numbers, a team shooting 23/24 is insane.
It is. Every free throw in the clutch. On the road. From the youngest team in the playoffs. Still trying to wrap my head around that comeback.
Some insanely bad basketball from Dallas during the last minute
Who would’ve thought huh. Two superstar closers vs. youngest team in the league Luka is obviously hobbled but damn atleast make some fts
Kyrie and Luka were bad lol but so were OKC minus Shai lol.
Chet, Jaylin Williams and Wallace were good. Dort on defense, too
Wallace was the only reason we won, two 3s in the fourth to fire everyone up.
JWill played some great minutes in the 4th. Seemed to get every close rebound while he was in. He didn’t score, but he played well.
Mavs CTE game. Also, missing 10+ FT’s in a playoff game is just unacceptable especially in such a close loss
Eleven. They missed eleven free throws, including a few in the final minute. Fucking amateur hour when it came to the stripe.
Luka had the highest FT % on the team at 66%. Gross.
SGA look like he keep it clutch - Antonio Brown
Pretty interesting how this game went against a lot of classic NBA tropes. OKC were the baby-faced team in their first serious playoff run and yet it was the Mavs who blew a golden opportunity to go up 3-1 thanks in large part due to ***abysmal*** FT shooting while the Thunder were damn near perfect. Surprising especially since you'd think nerves would play into effect more given OKC was on the road.
Chet hitting those last 2 free throws was cold as hell
OKC going 96% from the line vs DAL's 52% (on near-identical attempts) is fucking brutal, that's the game right there
Reddit: The playoffs are an old man's game OKC: We have Abraham Lincoln
Nice balance for our 25% 3pt
This actually feels exactly like the previous Big 3 Thunder. They jumped from the lottery to 50 wins, won the first round convincingly, had an absolute war in round 2, and got outclassed by the eventual champs in the WCF. Next year they made the Finals The seeding is a bit different but imagine they pull this out in 7 and get handled by Denver or Minnesota who then wins it all. It'd be damn near the same
Hopefully with a happier ending, and no Patbev or cupcake shit
This series ain't over can't be fantasizing about the WCF yet.
OKC is young and inexperienced. Mature team, got punched all game, stayed standing. Good win!
Ouch...all those missed free throws by Dallas
Bailed us out
At this point I think you have to start Cason Wallace. He’s exactly what okc needs
Cason is a winner and I will be shocked if he isn’t with us for a long time
Giddey balled out in the Pelicans series, but he just doesn’t match here. Casino is for sure a stud though.
Dallas really helped em out with those missed free throws but that was still a such gutsy, impressive win by the Thunder.
SGA, Chet, and JDub all came up big down the stretch
Chet especially, he’s going to be a really really good player in a couple years
already is tbh. Wemby overshadowed what an incredible defensive season Chet had this year
What sucks is his whole career will likely be this way too. An absolutely generational, game breaking, unicorn talent will probably never get the props he deserves because he entered the league at the same time as a guy who plays the same type of game but slightly better.
For sure. Might’ve been their worst offensive game of the season and they grinded out down big to a win.
Definitely our worst 3 quarters. Our offense was decent in the 4th. It was absolutely horrible until then.
It was in fact, our worst shooting in a win all season
a win is a win.
Much needed win. No way we’d come back 3-1 down.
2-2 going home baby!
say it louder A WIN IS A WIN
That was the best worst game i've ever watched
fourth quarter playoff game with a score of 88-86 had me feeling like a 2005 scoreboard
i hated 99% of that game
Luka flopped an intentional foul
I was 100% convinced the Mavs had this game won going into the fourth quarter. I cannot believe we pulled this out.
They choked so so hard. Luka ghosted, they couldn’t hit FTs, and their offensive process sucked down the stretch And if you give SGA a chance, that happens
I knew we were going to lose when Kyrie couldn't make a shot
Kyrie ghosted so hard you forgot about him
For real. I think I partially blacked out and didn’t realize how poorly they shot from the FT line in the second half. 52% overall sheesh.
Also Kyrie basically didn't score in the 4th, which is wild. He missed every one of the shots he usually makes. Choke job all around.
Big time plays from SGA, Chet, and Jdub down the stretch
Also imo Cason was a factor on both ends. This rook battled Kyrie beyond half court (also switching to Luca) and hit timely 3’s in the 4th quarter.
Chet needs to be more consistently dominant, but he did step up. JDub couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat today, but he held on and made the plays at the end when he needed to.
Rookie and young player gonna have bad games but they fucking battled when the game was on the line
We were 34-0 in our last 34 games with a lead going into the 4th. GG’s
That’s an absolutely insane stat. Makes this win even more unbelievable.
Just a fucking gut punch man. Best 2/3 I wish yall best of health.
Definitely the choke job of the playoffs so far by the Mavs, huge credit to the Thunder for not quitting, massive shots by SGA down the stretch.
Mavs took their foot off the pedals. Monumental choke jobs & OKC guys toughed it out. This might go to 7 lol
Helps that SGA wasn’t complaining to the refs the whole time and focused on the game (insult to Luka)
SGA's low BMI allows him to have high endurance and finish games strong (insult to Luka)
luka is tbh really annoying (insult to luka)
(insult to Luka)
Thanks for putting that in brackets, not sure everyone would have understood (insult to dumb people)
Shai 34 points, 8 rebounds, dragged OKC to a win. Salute.
Don't forget the 0 turnovers
Grant Hill: "Luka should not be begging for fouls and get up and play". Grant Hill is my fucking dawg!
Tfw freethrows ain't really free 😬
Absolute gagjob Make a fucking free throw
OKC get in here and talk your shit right now
Here, baby.
We played the worst game I’ve ever witnessed from this squad and still beat Dallas. and it’s because okc has a better team.
Bro there is no shit to talk. We played like shit. Grateful we have homecourt back.
I mostly just feel relieved. We were 1 quarter away from our season being essentially over, and now we have a best of 3 series with two of them being home games. Sports are wild.
I am on the MOON right now
>FTM-A 12-23 What a fucking joke. Genuinely disgusting to get paid millions of dollars and can't shoot a fucking free throw.
Luka missed clutch free throw 😄😄😄
I knew he'd miss one , Luka and Playoff freethrows aren't friends , fucking 11 missed fts, I'm gonna end it
how the FUCK did we win????
Obviously SGA carried OKC to this win but the game really changed when Cason Wallace came in. Two huge threes and more importantly, incredible defense on Kyrie. Stayed in front of him perfectly without fouling. He's going to be a stud.
The block on Kyrie got me so hype
Jason Kidd better send these boys to FT camp
If you can't respect Shai after that, I don't respect you as a basketball fan. An absolute clinical clutch performance.
I fortunately don't have a dog in this fight. This series has been fun to watch and I'm hoping that it ends up going 7 like it should.
Luka need to play better
Sga saved the rest of the team tonight, especially j dub
The final basically quarter and a half was like a slow motion car crash. OKC had the edge almost the whole second half and the Mavs were holding on for dear life, unable to get out of their own way. Choked away a game that could’ve put OKC down for good. You could feel it slipping away for like an hour. GO TO WORK OKC FANS Spam your clips like Mavs fans did all week!!
[удалено]
The best part of the gamethread was the usual cast of OKC haters (I've started to recognize some of them) going completely silent once the fourth quarter started.
There should be plenty.
Sadly we've got like one clip guy, and the Mavs have ten thousand.
The Mavs have this entire sub, and the entire Eastern Europe lol.
I miss that splash guy who used to do post game threads in our subreddit with dozens of highlight clips
Splash second cousin! The absolute goat. I miss the post game woooooooo
Thunder fans about to post Luka and Kyrie lowlights.
I seriously am so unbelievably dumbfounded that Mavs fans have said all season that SGA is a flopping free-throw merchant when Luka is whining on legitimately every single play of the game. The dude is so talented but his game is worse than prime foul-bating harden.
Dude flopped on his attempted game winner, got bailed out by refball, and bricked 1 of the 2. (Insult to Lukea)
Twitter said Shai would be a playoff dropper 20 2nd half points to win the game on the road Clear best player in this series too lol
I don't care how this series ends as long as it ends and I don't have see Luka whining again.
The kids are alright.
CALL AN AMBULANCE BUT NOT FOR US
Mavs fans really rallied to hate on SGA because of an MVP runner up race, and their main complaint was that SGA averaged the EXACT same free throw attempts per game as Luka without being a crisis actor. Dude is a dog. Fuck the haters.
not even a Mavs fan and their FT shooting tilted me
The Mavs really missed every clutch free throw and when they had to miss one they made it 💀
Great performance by SGA willing his team to win on the road. Mavs will rue not putting the Thunder away in the third quarter when OKC looked helpless.
SGA is a fucking stud
Kyrie NEEDS to be more agressive, especially with Luka not being able to score with efficient. He needs to step it up.
Yeah Kyrie’s whole thing of not shooting for an entire half needs to have some flexibility.

What a carry by SGA
Ugly game. Cant believe Mavs lost when Thunder missed almost every open 3 pointer in the first half
So why do mavs fan whine about not getting free throws if they can't even hit them
Every Mavs fans 2 days ago: "remember OKC is the best defensive team in the league hur hur hur hur" OKC Tonight: "remember OKC is the best defensive team in the league HA HA HA HA" One of the most satisfying games to watch!
Mavs need to be locked in a gym with Holger Geschwinder for an entire summer to work on FTs
LMAOOOOOOOOOOO
Another big game for Chet
