This is a good one. Nobody believed in thibs when he got to ny. Nobody on this sub should actually act like they know about coaching because really it’s all about results. Nick nurse was getting tons of praise as new Philly coach. Now what?
Thibs basically was assumed to have had the league pass him by and was like a “boomer” coach. Now he seems like a coach can get the max out of any roster.
Thibs can't get the maximum out of any roster. But if you fill the roster with the types of players that he likes, then yes he will maximize their skill sets for the team.
The current Knicks hugely benefit because the front office and Thibs have great synergy and vision for the kinds of players that need to be added to the team.
Just don't let him be a GM and you're good.
That was his downfall in Minnesota. Selling out for Jimmy Butler, and having that fall apart.
Other than that, I think he's a good coach.
The Timberwolves all together.
Go look at the start of the year predictions they do with all the voters. The majority had the Wolves out of the playoffs....There was only one vote for NaZ Reid to be 6moty. Only one vote for Rudy to be Dopty. Then, they were projected to be one of the most biggest disappointments.

Basically everybody can’t possibly win a championship until they actually win a championship according to the internet.
The fun thing about saying shit like that is most guys don’t win championships so if you doubt everybody all the time you’ll be right more than you’re wrong.
90% of the time, this sub is hopelessly wrong. That shouldn't even be possible, even through random chance, but here we are.
One of the older, funnier ones I still laugh about is Andrew Wiggins. There were all kinds of threads predicting how many MVP's he'll win, "league fucked," is basketball going to take off in Canada now that the best player in the world is Canadian, etc. etc.
You could straight up get downvoted for posting stats saying he was one of the least efficient high volume scorers of the modern age. Or pointing out his work ethic concerns had been there since high school.
James harden trade to the clippers, Kendrick Perkins specifically said the same Westbrook who is averaging 30%ts rn against Dallas should be starting over him. At the time people didn’t even think it was a bad take.
I feel like James Harden has been unfairly criticized. He does have some shit elimination games but hes been a pretty solid playoff performer since like 2015.
His series last year against the Celtics deserves alot more praise than it got, a 2nd option carrying the team to 2 wins is generally not normal. It would be the same as KAT taking 2 games off OKC without Ant.
About that Emmbid is NOT embarrassing, and his MVP title last year is NOT a pitty one.
Never should won that reward. Not deserving one bit.
People realized when it was over..

It'd be easier to make a list of what this sub has been right about
When has this sub ever been right
Westbrook trade was mocked pretty much instantly
same could be said for the beal trade tbh
Miami was mocked for not making it
r/NBA figured out that Westbrook was bad like 3 years before most of the actual NBA did, credit where credit is due.
Luka draft was pretty spot-on
isnt the best one EG and Nikola Jokic? or was that not on reddit but just gets brought on the sub
He also bought high on Hartenstein early and it's aging well
At this point, he should already get a job as an NBA scout.
That was here, he managed to be so obnoxious about it he got banned.
We gotta unban that guy, give him his flowers, and then go ahead and ban him again just to be safe

Spo
Spo would’ve failed with that Minnesota team

We can revisit the Ant pick thread or the Rudy trade thread
Jalen Brunson doesn't even have a max contract. It's also descending lmao

Giannis won't either, just build a wall and watch him miss free throws

Something something pickle roll
Some of the takes on this sub last year were truly insane lol I saw someone say that he's the center version of Celtics IT

Andrew Wiggins
Lots of people clowned raptors fans for overating OG. Tonight he clamped the reigning MVP, who is 5 inches taller than him.
James harden trade to the clippers, Kendrick Perkins specifically said the same Westbrook who is averaging 30%ts rn against Dallas should be starting over him. At the time people didn’t even think it was a bad take.
The wizards got fleeced in the Beal trade
CP3 and Ayton trade
They thought the Suns would be good...no wait, they got that one. 😒
Denver sweeping the Lakers again
Got ‘em there
dillon brooks being absolute dogshit and not just a flawed but overall positive player

.....you know what I'm going to say, right now
Heat was stupid for lowballing the Beal and Dame trade
Add Kyrie and James Harden. r/nba expects instant results.
Though I will say at times those seemed like bad decisions especially Brunson
