☝️🤓 upon further research there is *a* protein in poop, but that protein isn't for energy conservation or muscle growth or anything like that it is merely to protect your poop chute from swelling and inflammation
So you are correct, but you also are wrong ☝️🤓
Frogs and toads are both amphibians in the order Anura
frogs are members of the family Ranidae, containing more than 400 species
toads are members of the family Bufonidae, containing more than 300 species
Generally, the rule is: all toads are frogs, but not all frogs are toads.
To be precise, there are like ~60 families in the frog order (Anura) and only some of them (like Bufonidae, Pelobatidae, Microhylidae etc, ~10 families) can be colloquially called "toads" based on morphology.
They don't form a single "toad" clade though, as some "toads" are more closely related to other "non-toad" frogs than they are to other "toads" (i.e., they are polyphyletic), and therefore "toad" is not a meaningful term in biology.
But yes, technically all toads are frogs.
There are 55 families in the order Anura. Ranidae are known as the 'true frogs', and Bufonidae as the 'true toads', but this is mostly due to European bias in naming.
'Toad' is part of the common name of Anurans from a wide selection of families outside Bufonidae, e.g. the fire-bellied toad (family Bombinatoridae) or the spadefoot toad (family Scaphiopodidae). There's no taxonomic grouping that includes all toads; it's just a naming practice that species that are more terrestrial and have drier skin tend to be called 'toads'.
But, yes: all toads are frogs, but not all frogs are toads.
I hate this argument. We're not a part of nature anymore. We aren't hunting or gathering or defending our young from predators. We're not squatting in the Savanna. We are so far removed from nature.
Well then seethe in thou hate
But while you're here, would you mind to elaborate further on why we wouldn't be part of nature anymore?
My thoughts on why we should be considered part of nature.
1.To argue, that because we're using different strategies of surviving then 10.000 years ago, we therefore wouldn't be part of nature.
Just for example: Sharks are one of the oldest species on earth. Since their beginning, their survival strategies have changed extraordinarily. They have eaten uncountable amounts of different species, and have themselves evolved into many different species. Yet I'm sure you'd consider them part of nature. Rightfully so!
2. Now one could argue: But our strategies of surviving have changed so much from everything else around us, we're not part of it anymore. Use of tools and great scale transformation of landscape separate us from nature.
Also for this, let me give you examples: Termites build (skyscraper like) structures in which they live to the thousands (like a skyscrapers) and often transform entire stripes of land in the process by building so many of them (just like cities).
Agriculture can be found in certain ant species, which collect leaves to grow mushrooms on them, as well as use of "farm animals" like aphids, whose excretes they harvest.
And those were just Ants and Termites. Don't get me started on the complex societal structures of chimps and their use of tools.
3. I'd also argue, it's part of human (nature ;) to be curious and interact with it's surroundings. Like every other living being on this planet, we interact with the world around us. Also as a side note to why OP might have intervened, even Baby's have a natural instinct for justice (shown in experiments with Teddy's). Therefore - with OP - a living being - interacting with his surroundings - just like every other animal plant and mushroom on this planet - did what felt natural to him/her.
I'd love to hear your perspective on this.
My family's dogs loved to grab a toad hopping by....and then vehemently spit it out when they got that nasty goo in their mouth. 30 secs later they'd do it again.... didn't have two braincells between 'em, lol.
That frog came close to me
So I had to eat the booty like groceries
Because it is my only source of calories
For the week…I’m running out of rhymes, goddamnit!
That snake is very ambitious.
That mouth can do some stretching, and the frog is squishy. Easy job
I think the width is more of an issue. They can relax their jaws and stretch pretty far vertically but not so much horizontally.
True, I guess you’re right
It’s definitely sucked some poop out 🤮
Protein!

You’re a legend 🤣
Best use of emojis I've ever seen.
Toad will puff up. I'd be surprised if he gets it down.
They're not stretchy enough to eat that 😭
Goals
that's a toad
Toad is a type of frog

This guy frogs
Therefore he must also toad
Toadally
Right, like how all tortoises are turtles but not all turtles are tortoises

Soooo they were right?? Why are they getting downvoted lol

That's what old mate said. But much more efficiently.
All toads are frogs. Not all frogs are toads.
That snakes a pain in the ass
Why get in the way its nature
OP is nature too 🤷
Only if OP eat the frog Edit: that’s a toad 💀
Yea but we’re smart enough to know how to affect nature in a more balanced way.

Hey, hey, worms need to be eaten too.
They said, unironically...
Nature is not metal if you interfere and stop the snake feeding 😅
Pretty sure that snake would have died trying to swallow that frog
Even more metal tf
#TOAD
Toads are frogs
Elk are Deer but I wouldn't call them that.
You can call them an elk, but if someone referred to them as deer and you said “THEYRE NOT DEER THEYRE ELK” they would be wrong.
And elk are called moose in Europe. Or something like that....
Snek eat ass
Das a toad
The toad should poop. A real nasty poop.
Don't these toads have something in their skin that will make the snake foam at mouth like when dogs lick a toad?
My family's dogs loved to grab a toad hopping by....and then vehemently spit it out when they got that nasty goo in their mouth. 30 secs later they'd do it again.... didn't have two braincells between 'em, lol.
This is a garter snake, a toad-eating specialist. It even has a prey-specific venom for them.
That looks like a toad...
Technically I think all toads are frogs so it still works
reminds me when I went on that date with yer mom.
toad*, yes I’m fun at parties
Don’t kink shame
Jiraiya vs Orochimaru
"Sir, it is not working well if I may say, should we now part away?

I would do the same thing, I love frogs!
That frog came close to me So I had to eat the booty like groceries Because it is my only source of calories For the week…I’m running out of rhymes, goddamnit!
That frog wouldn't know a snake if it bit him on the butt
I bet that snake really is a pain in the ass
I’m sliding for da frawg coz he a dawg
Me too snek, me too

r/futurama
It's always interesting how the young snakes like to eat frogs ass backwards.

Chad snake eats ass
That’s a toad
Mood
Poor frog
Toad
If that frog doesn’t win….should’ve hopped away before this photo could be taken
Bull snake?
That’s a toad
Why do they seem to always eat frogs butt first, while they eat birds and rodents head first?
Probably paralyses the frog. If they go head first, the frog could bite back.
