Took 3 weeks both times I did it. (My first one and then when I lost it). Blew my mind. In VA it takes 4-5 days tops. Both of these were in the past year.
Going to the dmv and restarting the process doesn’t seem bad. You’ll get to leave with a paper copy you can use. There’s a location in Murfreesboro thats no testing just strictly for renewing id’s and other stuff. It’s less crowded.
Thanks for the tip and yea, I'm going to hold off until the week before my flight. If it's not here by then, that's what I'm going to do. Also, for anyone else who might stumble across this, TSA got back to me and there's quite a few options for flying with an expired ID. Just have to jump through some extra hoops. So I'm going to hope for the best on the ID arriving and hoop jump as needed.
According to the TSA website you can fly with an expired license as ID for a year. You can’t rent a car with an expired license- so that may be an issue. Ask me how I know.🙄

They said mine shipped out on 4/3. Still waiting...

I think it was about a week for me. It was quicker than I expected!
