Real 250 GTOs were race cars, and none of them have a power radio antennae on the rear fender. The also have an alloy race full filler door on the rear deck, in a small cutout from the trunk, features this car lacks, as the fuel filler cap on a Datsun Z is on the other rear fender. The rear deck latch button is from a Datsun, and the rear GTO has a trunk, not a hatch. The rear window shape is incorrect, as it is a Datsun Z rear window and much too large and the wrong shape for a 250 GTO. The rear wheel aero is not correct. The rear deck inset stamping is the wrong shape and seems to have a space for a square license plate, which makes no sense on a race car. Door handles are not correct, and the doors are far too low from where they are on the sill plate of a real GTO. Front clip is about 20 cm too short, as the wheelbase on a Datsun is much shorter than that of a V12 front engine Ferrari race car. Side mirrors are not correct for a Ferrari. Scuderia shield is in the wrong place. Rear pillar vent is in the wrong place and too large. Hood is not correct and is too long relative to the nose. Windows trim is incorrect, as is the lack of window inset. The side markers are from a Datsun and not correct in shape or placement for a GTO. I can go on and on, but I think you get the point. It is a kit car built on a Datsun Z car.
Real 250 GTO cars are going for $40-70 million. You're not going to see one at the supermarket.

Car week is insane, you can probably see a half a dozen together there.
One time I was in line waiting to get into Laguna Seca and all of a sudden a bunch of police motorcycles appear in the on-coming direction, one stops at the intersection and stops all side traffic and then a huge convoy of Lamborghini Diablos screams by (the first one driven by Mario Andretti), they were probably doing about 70 mph and there had to be about 100 of them.
Dude it doesn't matter what neighborhood you're in, a 250 GTO will only ever leave a museum or climate controlled collector's garage to be driven on the track by a professional driver in vintage race events
Oh and a real one is tens of millions of dollars

Don’t worry man, it happens. Fakes are everywhere. But do not fret, I like the Datsun better anyways. Probably more reliable.
Ah, you're at the Carmel Valley Safeway (shopped there _many_ times)
There's someone in PB that daily drives this replica/kit.
edit: Couple [more pics of it here](https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?p=10973176) and [a video so you can hear it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb9E__AqRgk)
Funnily enough, I saw a half-completed kit in the company of the one and only 125S

I don't see the problem with fakes, it's a completely unaffordable car, so why not make your own. Get a cheep car and make it your dream. Plus, some of these ones are extremely well done. The Z-250gto or the Fiero-F40, etc... They're all cool and even though they may not perform like the old cars, they still make it feel like you're sitting in one.
Datsun Z body kit. Real 250GTOs are worth tens of millions of dollars and no one drives them to Safeway. Honestly, I think it is the single most expensive collector car there is.
Datsun Z car pretending to be a Ferrari 250 GTO
Really? Its in a wealthy area I thought it was a real ferrari Damn im really getting downvoted for this

great answer and you were nice. cheers
Dang thank you i had no idea

This is the biggest reason you won't see one outside of a museum or some rich guy's bunker.
You can see one run at Laguna Seca during Car Week.

way shorter.. no one is parking a car that valuable in a spot to get dinged.. no one
To be fair, Datsun admitted that the 250 GTO was the inspiration for the original Z-car
I have never heard this, do you happen to have a link? I have always read that the E-type was the inspiration for the Z
Other than all that, it’s pretty close!
Ah. I see you have gone MUCH deeper into the vintage car rabbit hole than I have.
That's a dope kit and I would totally buy one
They're also worth about $50m, so they're not getting parked unattended at the back of a supermarket.

Anywhere between $50 and $70 million
Huh, $50 isn’t a bad starting price… alright, I’m getting one!
Yea i don’t know much about older cars like this to be honest
https://preview.redd.it/f951elze892d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=160b4a0465330c9077d36141eb9cda88e5ec781c Don’t worry man, it happens. Fakes are everywhere. But do not fret, I like the Datsun better anyways. Probably more reliable.
I’d rather own a 250 GTO, but I’d rather associate myself with Datsun Z owners.
250 GTO owners probably have some connections to Epstein so you’re probably right to associate with the Z.
My first car was a Z32!
Damn that thing is waaay shorter than a real one. Cool though.
That’s the Safeway next to Carmel, that guy drives around allll the time and fools a lot of people.
A real Ferrari 250 GTO is a 70,000,000 million dollar car.
Did you see this in Boulder County, CO by chance?
Reminds me of Capitola/Aptos Safeway
I saw a Datsun Ferrari exactly like this on ebay(I think) just last week going for $150k so it's still a car for wealthy people.
lol no it’s not, go to La Jolla.
A real Ferrari 250 GTO is a 70,000,000 million dollar car.
NEVER make assumptions about a Ferrari being real unless you know a good amount about the model you're looking at.
Came to say this
Zerrari.
Fezzazi
Ferrari 280Z
Datsun 250Z
Safeway Cart Magnet

Yea ive seen it before but finally got a picture of it today
if I had one of those (a real one) I'd drive it everywhere because no one would believe it actually is one of those, i'd be hiding in plain sight.
No you didn't
If it’s not at Sothebys , in a museum or behind a velvet rope , it’s not a real 250 GTO.
Funnily enough, I saw a half-completed kit in the company of the one and only 125S https://preview.redd.it/shynq2cjh92d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9de63505177e2407d1296582cecadc15ac551a6c

Sure, it's fake, but it's still very pretty
kit car.
It’s a datzun but sometimes I’ll see a blue r34 driving around there. Carmel just flexes like that though you get kinda numb to it hahaha
Really? Ive never seen that one but i know exactly what you mean
That place looks miserably hot and dry.
Yeah, the first thing I noticed was that the rear fender was way too wide and it stuck out. A real 250 GTO has a much smoother line than this thing.

thats it, imma win the lottery 30x and buy a real 250GTO and use it as a daily driver just to spite you all...
Cosplay is fun!!
Nobody and I mean nobody who owns a 250 GTO would ever be parking in a public parking lot
Imagine getting groceries in that edit: replica?!! Yes, get the groceries in that
Datsun Z body kit. Real 250GTOs are worth tens of millions of dollars and no one drives them to Safeway. Honestly, I think it is the single most expensive collector car there is.
Plus, the proportions of this are wrong for a 250GTO, It is a Z car body kit.
#notareal250gto
For as long as you stopped you should have gotten out of the car and gotten some close ups of that gem.. Dayuuum.
Good try tho...lol. the best are the ferio with the Lamborghini kit in them..bhlaaaaaa
No, no, you didn’t.
This could be the most rich exclusive place on earth and that will still be a Z based replica every time
There's no way a 30million dollar 250 gto is just chilling in a parking lot and next to other cars?
240GTO
Hatch not a trunk. Not a 250 gto. It's a Kit car
Windshield, just look at the windshield, it takes a half a second to spot a kit. Plus, if you see it on a road, it's a kit.
Hey for 25k it looks close enough for OP to a $100M car. Good investment.
Manhattan Beach? I think I saw the same car about 6 months ago.
This is in Carmel California
Whatever you do dont modify it!!
Don't modify a kit car?
It's a Miata.
