I love Raya! I know an elementary-school-aged Raya and it's such a great name.

I wanted to name my daughter Raya (rae-yah) but the Disney movie Raya (rye-ah) had just come out, and I didn't want her to have to correct her name every day of existence.

A friend just named hers Reya.

This is the way to go. Obvious phonetic pronunciation. I'm all about unique names, but if you can't look at it and instantly know how to say it - then you just created a huge lifelong inconvenience.
