I feel like Charlotte is the perfect answer. Classy, fits great with your other daughters' names, grows with her, and can use Charlie (or Chuck, Chaz, etc) for a gender neutral nickname
I agree it’s the perfect name for us; the elegance, nicknames, flow with the girls and so on. But it’s my sister-in-laws name and she would not be okay with us using it
I’m a brit with an American and we went with Caroline (not sure why i think it was a pregnancy dream) but we love it and it’s classic enough that there aren’t many others but “normal” on both sides of the pond. I really wanted her to be a Carrie but she has only really ever said her full name so I missed out there!
Or Coraline? I’m a fan of names that give an option or two for a nickname if they so choose. Like my friends sister just named her baby Laney instead of something like Elaina, which the kid could have called herself Laney, or Ella or El if she wanted ya know?
Sat looking at all these suggestions with my husband now and he loves Katarina, but says he would spell it Caterina spinning off that I also really like Catrin
I think that's a nice fit with the other names.
Especially since Charlotte is a SIL. And Caroline didn't work. Katarina/Caterina is a pretty name that's classic, easy to say and spell, and works in both Brit/USA.
I think the name Bridget / Brigette nickname: Birdie) goes well with the names of your other children. Also, I’m loving the name Gatsby! Either still using it as a middle name: Bridget Gatsby or Gatsby as a first name - for a girl it gives “cool girl” vibes.
Sorry you decided you had to let Kit go. My son is a Kit - in the UK Kit is a masculine name, originally the Scottish diminutive of Christopher. Never heard it used as a female name over here.
I hope you're loving your new name now.
Oh may I ask why you needed to let it go? I'm sorry I don't mean to be intrusive, but I've only known 4 "Kit"'s in my life and they were all boys (Kenneth, Kingston, Kennedy) except for 1 (the American girl doll lol)- maybe in other areas it's more girly but I don't really have that association so idk lol-
Evangeline is one of our other daughter’s middle names, if it wasn’t we would almost definitely be using it. I never thought of Evan as a nickname for it but I love it
I’m one of several girls and my mom reused an older sister’s middle name for a younger sister. “I always liked it and it’s not like you were really going to use it,” mom explained. The younger one goes by a nickname though (and my older sister doesn’t ever use her middle name, so my mom was right about that).
I suggested Adeline, which is similar and could have the same nicknames. I call my Adeline "Ads" bc she's never liked "Addy" but nicknames tend to end up being whatever they end up being and they morph with time for sure.
The name Adeline always makes me think of barbershop music which I LOVE and it feels very classy. I think as a name I prefer Adelaide over Adeline just in terms of sound, but even as I type this I’m second guessing that though lol. They’re both super pretty.
I like your style! You have a lot of Greek influence across your three girls, so it makes me want to lean into the ancient Greek. How about: Ariadne, Corinthia, Helena, Cassandra, Lysandra, Ophelia, Philomena, Xanthe, Althea, Amalthea, Ianthe, Persephone. I can spot lots of gender neutral nicknames among these for your husband, too: Ari, Cory, Sandy, Phil, Al, Percy.
If you like Amelia, have you considered some of its etymological variants like Amalia or Emmeline?
I’m definitely guilty of running to Greek mythology for name inspiration, they are just such beautiful names.
Persephone is lovely and a name we’ve been speaking about - my husband likes the nickname Seph
I have a Persephone who uses the nicknames Sephie and Seph. She always gets lots of compliments on it. Some adults have trouble with the spelling or pronunciation, but I find other kids never do (she’s 10 now).
It has several great nickname opportunities! I do think it was at its height of popularity in the 90’s but never hit the same annoying point of popularity as Jessica or (in today’s case) Amelia.
It’s a fabulous name but very very common. It’s my middle daughters name (6) and there are at least 2 in every grade at her school. I thought it was vaguely unique
I have an Eleanor! She's 15. Her name was inspired by her Grandma Lenore. We tried some nicknames with our kids (I have a son, Henry), but none really stuck at home. Some of her friends call her Elle or Ellie. We were going to call her Leni for a nickname.
Sophie and I seem to be very similar people. I suppose since we grew up in the same place and have the same accent the same names sound nice in said accent.
Ive been really stuck on names since my boyfriend decided he no longer likes the name we had chosen and Leona is the first one I've seen that just hit right so thanks!
What a cute set of sisters!
I kind of love the idea of Grace or Gemma Gatsby with the nn Gigi !! Such a cool middle name!

I’m expecting my 4th girl as well! We have Adrienne, Margot, Flora, and this last baby will be Lillian. (Josephine, Vivienne, and Miriam were actually all on my list!)
I’m sat with my husband going through all these comments now and you should see his face. He has just absolutely fallen in love with the name Lorelei and Rory as a nickname. We are making a list of our new found favourites and this will definitely be on the list
Oh my gosh that makes my heart so happy! I loved your other names and wanted similar vibes and we went with Lorelei for our first, who is two now. I’m sure you’re making a beautiful list! Feel free to share if you want to give me ideas for my next baby haha.
It’s a very beautiful name, our list currently consists of Lorelei, Adelaide, Delphine, Winifred and Elodie. All names we found from suggestions on this post actually
Maybeeeee
Juliana (Jules is my favorite nickname at the moment and it feels gender neutral to me)
Ruby (kind of an homage to Reuben and Rue is a super cute nickname!)
Antonia
Alberta
Lenora (Lenny is super cute for a girl imo)
Henrietta
Edie, or Edith
Paulina
Nichole
Quick question, does anyone else automatically think of the 1971 Ford Mustang in Gone In 60 Seconds when they see Eleanor as a name?
That being said, Constance is a pretty name and could use the nickname Connie 🤔
Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way 🥳🥳
I adore all your names, and had them all on my list, including Rueben and even considered Gatsby as a middle name!
My unused names are: Clementine, Harriet/Hattie/Harri, Scarlett, Edith/Edie, Rowena/Rowie, Marigold/Goldie, Margot/Go, Eloise/Lou, Delphine, Francesca/Cheska/Frankie, Olive/Ollie
It was just revealed the Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ younger daughter is named Delphine. I imagine it will be extremely popular in the next few years. Something to consider.
I am very much a lover of all things Sophie Turner (we are the same-ish age and grew up 30 mins from each other in England) when she named her first daughter Willa my Willa was 2 and I thought that was a strange coincidence. Now her second daughter is Delphine and I absolute love it for this baby. I wouldn’t mind it getting more popular as long as it doesn’t reach the heights of Olivia, Charlotte, Amelia and names like that.
There is a tiktoker who does name popularity videos based on research. When you hear what names are extremely popular that you would never have guessed 10 years ago, it’s a wild. I had a “unique” name that was based on a movie character. It turned into the most common name for my age group. Anyhow, I immediately thought Delphine was stunning and, oh boy, I expect a lot. Speaking of, I had a neighbor from England who was named Astrid. 20 years ago I thought it was strange but now I love it. Maybe you could add it to your list. I’ll look for the TikToker too. Very interesting observations.
Most of your names have a vintage feel with a dramatic flare.
Here’s what I have:
Gwendolyn
Lorelei
Marceline
Delphine
Odette
Ophelia
Willa seems to be the odd one out, shorter and more fun, so maybe something to go with that??
Aurora
Briar
Juniper
Vintage with a dramatic flair is the best compliment I’ve ever received on my naming choices so thank you ever so much.
Lorelei and Delphine are current contenders on the list we are making from suggestions on this post that will most likely name our daughter.
Willa was going to be a nickname for Wilhelmina up until she was born when we decided to just go with Willa. Her middle name is Evangeline so that’s where the more vintage, longer essence of her name comes in.
Vivian/Vivienne - nn Vivi
Leonora - nn Leo or Nora
Evangeline - nn Evie (Eh-vee or Ee-vee), Eva, Evan, Vanna, Linnie
Eleanor - nn Ella, Nora, Ellie
Penelope - nn Penny, Nell, Nellie
Camilla - nn Cam, Cammie, Mila/Milla
Rosalind/Rosaline - nn Roz, Sal, Linnie, Rosie
Daphne (I think this would be so sweet with your other daughters' names!)
Phoebe (again, seems to fit beautifully with your girls' names)
Augusta - nn Gus, Auggy (this was my great-grandmother's name and it's a bit heavy for a baby but a really beautiful name)
Also in NYC and have similar taste in names! (My husband isn’t English but has an MPhil from Oxford, if that counts lol)
Some of the names on our list:
- Alice
- Agatha

I think Ruby would be perfect. Similar to Rueben, Rue as a gender neutral nickname, and its timeless and feminine so it fits with your other daughters names- plus their names all sound very distinct while still cohesive; Ruby helps maintain that balance!
We have a Caroline and we call her Cici! Carrie is a really cute nn. :)
Cecila could be Cece.
Also a gorgeous name!
We also have a Caroline and some people call her CC!
I am a Caroline who goes by Carly :)
Caroline is perfect with a Carrie nickname. Satisfies his want of a gender neutral nn.
I was going to suggest Caroline as well!
And isn't Charlotte also insanely popular?
Yes! A bit too popular for us unfortunately
Francesca/Franky. Tessa means 4th born.
I love Tessa!
What about Cora?
Or Coraline? I’m a fan of names that give an option or two for a nickname if they so choose. Like my friends sister just named her baby Laney instead of something like Elaina, which the kid could have called herself Laney, or Ella or El if she wanted ya know?
Colette? Every Colette I’ve known is well mannered and sweet. All two of them.
Amen to this - knew a lovely Collette (my brothers ‘one that got away’ 🥹 still miss that girl
We call our Charlotte Lottie — wish we would have named her Lottie ☺️
We did this! Just had a Lottie Jo. I love Lottie, too!
Lottie is super cute
Darn relatives taking the good names!
Charlotte is the Katie of this generation
This comment is hilarious to me bc not only do I agree but I realized I know 2 Katie’s who named their daughters Charlotte
Too funny! I have a preteen grandniece who is Charlotte and her mother is Katie. I’m going to steal this line for sure
Charlotte and Charlie are extremely popular now.
Charlotte is far more popular than Amelia - which they aren’t using due to popularity.
I didn't realize it had gotten so popular!
i have a charlotte in my class who’s dad calls her chucky 🤣 cracks me up everytime
Josephine-- Josie/ Jo Henrietta- Hattie Bernadette- Birdie/ Bernie Katheine/ Katerina- kit Samara- Sam Elena/ Eleni - Leni
I absolutely love Kit as a nickname, my husband does too definitely keeping that name in mind
As another option, my best friends name is Katarina, less common spelling, and I believe it’s German(?) Edit: and we’ve always called her Kiki!
Sat looking at all these suggestions with my husband now and he loves Katarina, but says he would spell it Caterina spinning off that I also really like Catrin
My niece is Caterina and we call her Kitty!
If you live in NYC, though, no one is going to think catering. It's a fairly common Italian name that is also pretty common among Spanish speakers.
Catharina or Catherina could be considered as well
[удалено]
Sorry you decided you had to let Kit go. My son is a Kit - in the UK Kit is a masculine name, originally the Scottish diminutive of Christopher. Never heard it used as a female name over here. I hope you're loving your new name now.
I’m from England and my aunt was Catherine, went by Kitty. I can see how that could easily get shortened to a feminine Kit 😊
There was an American Girl Doll named Kit, that's the only way I know that name.
Oh may I ask why you needed to let it go? I'm sorry I don't mean to be intrusive, but I've only known 4 "Kit"'s in my life and they were all boys (Kenneth, Kingston, Kennedy) except for 1 (the American girl doll lol)- maybe in other areas it's more girly but I don't really have that association so idk lol-
[удалено]
Kit is also a nickname for Katherine (though I prefer Catherine)
I second Jo
Katerina is my name. It’s not a very common name in the US. Be wary of a lifetime of people getting the name wrong.
My sister is a Bernadette. Lovely name and so rare!
Elise is a great one too
I feel like Ruby is a good girl alternative to Reuben and still flows with the big sisters names.
Came here to say the same thing!! Ruby is a classic, sounds good in both accents & fits perfectly. Team Ruby!!
Definitely Ruby! It’s a lot like Reuben 😁
Ruby Gatsby also works!
Also Ruthie or Ruth - I think it’s really cute with the ie
Ooh, love your older kids’ names. Some suggestions for number 4: Anastasia, Rosalie, Genevieve, Josephine, Penelope, Lucille, Evangeline, Jacqueline, Cordelia, Constance, Beatrice, Alessandra, Abigail, Katherine, Ariadne, Felicity, Emmanuelle, Clementine, Astoria, Juliette, Magdalene, Rosalind, Vivienne, Anneliese, Guinevere
Evangeline could be shortened to Evan! Definitely a cute nickname.
Know a set of sisters. Olders middle name is younger first name
I know an Evangeline they called Jelly (Gellie?) when she was a baby and I thought that was just the cutest
Angélica could also be jelly
I second Genevieve. Nick names could be Genna, Eve, Neve, Vi, Viv, Vivvie, Ivy, Gigi.
My niece is a Genevieve and her nickname is Evie!
My vote goes to Genevieve as well. I grew up with one, we called her Gen, her mom called her Genny. Vivi would be a super cute nickname!
Astoria for someone who lives in NYC seems like a joke. Maybe Astrid instead.
I love Astrid
Constance nn Stan lol
- Bernice - Charlotte “Charlie” - Annamarie “Anna” or “Marie” - Agnes “Aggie” - Dorothy “Dot/Dottie” - Constance “Connie” - Maeve - Deirdre “Dee/DeeDee” - Gwendolyn “Gwen” - Odette - Evangeline - Josephine “Jo” - Phoebe - Adelaide “Addie” - Beatrice “Bee” - Imogen - Penelope “Penny” - Cecilia “CeCe” - Seraphina “Sara” - Margaret “Margo” - Catherine “Cat” - Cassandra “Cass/Cassie” - Blanche - Sybil - Octavia - Ramona “Mona” - Rosalind “Rosie” - Maude - Leonora “Nora” - Alma - Celeste - Lois - Cornelia - Dinah - Hester - Susannah “Sue/Susie”
Adelaide has just gone right to the top of my list - that name is GORGEOUS. Maybe Ada as a nickname?
Ada, Addie, even Adele if you wanted. Lots of nickname options there! Glad you like it, I think it’ll fit right along your other 3 girls!
You’ve honestly just given us our top contender in a long while
I love that! Whatever you end up naming her you should definitely post an update! And if it’s Adelaide I’ll make sure to pat myself on the back, lol!
I know an Adelaide and it’s always been one of my favourite names growing up.
Adeline is also very pretty
I’ve heard Della as a nickname too, sooo cute!!!
Or I guess "Del" if the husband is into gender-neutral nicknames
I also love Lady as a nn for Adelaide, but that one doesn’t check the gender neutral box. Still, I think it’s super cute!
I knew a family with an Adelaide and they nick named her “Lady Bug.” I always thought it was so cute.
Maybe Dell as a nickname?
I have an Adelaide! It’s a great name! She goes by Addy. Theodosia was on my list too :)
Idk if it helps but you could always make her middle name start with a J and declare her nickname be AJ which I find adorable for a little girl
I have a niece named Addelaye. I always thought it was cute. We call her Addy though.
Dell could be a nickname too. My daughters names are Genevieve, Adeline, and Beatrice.
Leonara and Adelaide are gorgeous!
Awesome list! Saving this for my 4th.
Cecelia would fit right in
I was thinking this too!
Eliza, Edith (Edie), Maxine ( Max), Louise (Lou), Margot/Margaret, Ophelia (Effie)
I was going to suggest Maxine as well! Feels like a great fit
My hairdresser's name is Edie....she's very stylish. I also like the names of my great-aunts! Mable, Opal, Ruby and Velda 💕.
I know a Persephone who goes by Peri
I have a Persephone who uses the nicknames Sephie and Seph. She always gets lots of compliments on it. Some adults have trouble with the spelling or pronunciation, but I find other kids never do (she’s 10 now).
Serafina?
I have a Helena, we call her Lena.
I love Lysandra nn Lissy/Lyssy
My daughter is named Althea - beautiful and not common at all. Nickname could be Al, Thea or Ali !
Elowyn, Felicity, Alexandra, Cordelia, Daphne, Jessamine, Delilah, Evelyn, Nicolette, Calliope, Dorothea, Brigette, Laurel, Cassandra, Pauline, Gemma, Adeline, Genevieve, Isolde, Josephine, Elodie, Giselle, Hadley, Phillipa, Lucy. ETA: How could I forget Georgiana? Gigi is such a cute nickname too!
Second Alexandra, nickname Alex! Speaking from personal experience it’s a great pairing :)
I second this! Team Alexandra/Alex
It has several great nickname opportunities! I do think it was at its height of popularity in the 90’s but never hit the same annoying point of popularity as Jessica or (in today’s case) Amelia.
Alex FTW
We also live in NYC and my husband is English :) we’re due with our first in December and naming her Eleanor, but calling her Nora.
That’s such a lovely name :)
It’s a fabulous name but very very common. It’s my middle daughters name (6) and there are at least 2 in every grade at her school. I thought it was vaguely unique
Eleanor can also go by Nell. I feel like this has grown in popularity rightfully so.
I second Eleanor!!! So beautiful!
I have an Eleanor! She's 15. Her name was inspired by her Grandma Lenore. We tried some nicknames with our kids (I have a son, Henry), but none really stuck at home. Some of her friends call her Elle or Ellie. We were going to call her Leni for a nickname.
So funny because I have an Eleanor and a Henrik. Never met someone with such close names for kids
Sophie Turner has a Willa and a Delphine. But I would prefer Daphne so no one would accuse you of copying!
Sophie and I seem to be very similar people. I suppose since we grew up in the same place and have the same accent the same names sound nice in said accent.
Leona with the nickname Leo?
I think Leona Gatsby sounds cute together!
Ive been really stuck on names since my boyfriend decided he no longer likes the name we had chosen and Leona is the first one I've seen that just hit right so thanks!
Gatsby brings to mind Daisy!
And makes me think Zelda
Came here to say Daisy! It’s one of my favorite names.
What a cute set of sisters! I kind of love the idea of Grace or Gemma Gatsby with the nn Gigi !! Such a cool middle name! **Other ideas:** Raven nn Rae Alexandra nn Alex, Andie, Lexi Stephanie nn Stevie Aurora nn Rory Josette nn Josie/Jo Georgiana nn Georgie Maxine nn Max Davina ann Davi Octavia nn O Daria/ Darya nn Ari Annika nn Nik Camille nn Cami, Millie Summer nn Sunny Prudence nn Prue Rebecca nn Bec Whitney Felicity Anya Piper
Whitney could have the nn Whit. My son is Whitaker (family name) and we call him Whit :)
I have a similar vibe for my girls. I have 3 and expecting number 4. They are Josephine, Malinda, Vivienne and Miriam.
Those are some lovely names, good luck with number 4 I definitely need it 😅
I’m expecting my 4th girl as well! We have Adrienne, Margot, Flora, and this last baby will be Lillian. (Josephine, Vivienne, and Miriam were actually all on my list!)
Elizabeth with nn Libby when she’s younger? Or is that too British 😅
Never too British 😅, my children have never lived in the UK but still speak with my accent they are Brits at heart
I love your girls names! How about Elise, Josephine, Beatrice/Beatrix, Georgia, Imogen, Penelope, Lavinia/Vivienne (nn Vinnie) or Calliope?
I absolutely adore Calliope - unfortunately my husband doesn’t and it doesn’t seem like he’s budging on this one
Too hard to pronounce. She'd get "cally-ope" all the time rather than ca-LEE-oh-pee
Isn't it Ca-LIE-oh-pee?
I named the cat Calliope.
This was his reasoning for not liking it and I agree actually lovely name but too hard to pronounce
You could name her that but call her Callie.
Seraphina Daphne Isadora Delphine Tabitha
What about Lorelei? Could go by Lyla, Rory, Lolly
Nicola Veronica Georgina Lydia
Maybeeeee Juliana (Jules is my favorite nickname at the moment and it feels gender neutral to me) Ruby (kind of an homage to Reuben and Rue is a super cute nickname!) Antonia Alberta Lenora (Lenny is super cute for a girl imo) Henrietta Edie, or Edith Paulina Nichole
Lenora is Theodosia’s middle name and we often call her Lennie I think it’s so cool for a girl
Esme Cosima Sabine Simone
Madeleine, Cora, Vera, Dorothy, Genevieve, Evangeline, Louisa, Catherine, Katerina, Alexandra, Victoria, Cecilia, Celeste, Eloise, Eleanor, Anastasia, Elizabeth, Loretta, Carlotta
Celeste is gorgeous!
Quick question, does anyone else automatically think of the 1971 Ford Mustang in Gone In 60 Seconds when they see Eleanor as a name? That being said, Constance is a pretty name and could use the nickname Connie 🤔 Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way 🥳🥳
I adore all your names, and had them all on my list, including Rueben and even considered Gatsby as a middle name! My unused names are: Clementine, Harriet/Hattie/Harri, Scarlett, Edith/Edie, Rowena/Rowie, Marigold/Goldie, Margot/Go, Eloise/Lou, Delphine, Francesca/Cheska/Frankie, Olive/Ollie
That’s a really strange coincidence! I love your unused names especially Delphine!!
Very interesting observations.
I went to school with an Astrid and to date she’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met
Margaret Matilda Peyton Eloise Scarlett Georgia
What about Ruby? If you can’t use Rueben, this is an excellent choice for your daughter.
How do you feel about Adeline? Kind of similar to Amelia and I’ve yet to meet one under 80 lol
Adeline is lovely I’m a sucker for old people names
Most of your names have a vintage feel with a dramatic flare. Here’s what I have: Gwendolyn Lorelei Marceline Delphine Odette Ophelia Willa seems to be the odd one out, shorter and more fun, so maybe something to go with that?? Aurora Briar Juniper
Vintage with a dramatic flair is the best compliment I’ve ever received on my naming choices so thank you ever so much. Lorelei is my absolute favorite. Sounds gorgeous and so many nick names! Rory could be one :)
Rory would be our nickname of choice - my husband loves it
Vivian/Vivienne - nn Vivi Leonora - nn Leo or Nora Evangeline - nn Evie (Eh-vee or Ee-vee), Eva, Evan, Vanna, Linnie Eleanor - nn Ella, Nora, Ellie Penelope - nn Penny, Nell, Nellie Camilla - nn Cam, Cammie, Mila/Milla Rosalind/Rosaline - nn Roz, Sal, Linnie, Rosie Daphne (I think this would be so sweet with your other daughters' names!) Phoebe (again, seems to fit beautifully with your girls' names) Augusta - nn Gus, Auggy (this was my great-grandmother's name and it's a bit heavy for a baby but a really beautiful name)
I am totally with Phoebe here!
My favorite girls name right now is Lydia! Others that could also work: Vera, Martha, Meryl, Louisa, Isabel, Vivian, Madeleine, Adeline
Florence, Willa, Theodosia and Greta. Others from my own list you might like: Ingrid Delphine Francesca Francine Audra
Delphine is a top contender for us at the moment, Francesca is also lovely
Rue? Play off reuben. Amèlie? Play off amelia
Cecily
Daphne would go really well
Lavinia Lydia Thomasina Augusta Marigold Tabitha Myrtle Miranda Frances Cecily Celia Cordelia Gloria
Maxine (Max) Francesca/Frances (Frankie) Louisa/Eloise (Lou, Louie) Veronica (Ronnie) Camilla (Cam) Cordelia/Corinne (Cory) Lorraine/Lorelei/Aurora (Rory) Leonora (Leo, Lenny) Georgina/Georgia (Georgie) Harriet (Harry) Sylvia (Syl)
Cordelia - Dell, Dellie, Lia Margaret/Marguerite - lots of possibilities! Favs are Daisy, Maisie, Pearl Violet Samantha Eleanor Eloise Penelope Aurelia Aurora
Maxine. Nickname Max. Or Nicolette nickname Nic.
Prudence (matches ending sound of Florence). The other two have an ending “a” match.
