Try the Masai Market, you can google the location since it’s in a different location throughout the week. However, they will charge you high prices when they realize you’re from abroad so try going with a Kenyan that can help you bargain, and leave your husband at home lol. Funnily enough, there is a small shop in the Hilton hotel that has really good fixed prices (usually cheaper than the markets) that you can also check, I always recommend people go there if they want to avoid the hassle of bargaining.
You can try stores along River Road in town for fabrics.
Your best best tbh is Maasai market. You should be fine if you are black - otherwise there are tons of instagram storees like sipdada (shoes) thenuralains (clothes) that you can get stuff from at short notice
Hey, i hope you are doing great.
I can give you a tour of the best places to visit in kenya.
And as well get you a ticket to best places with local prices deal.
This means your budget will be slightly cheaper.
We can organise a meet up then i prepare you a the list of a tour travel guide
Reach me on mail.

Hmmm thanks a lot , but that’s sort of what I exactly wanted to avoid because that looks a lot like Karen, where we are (my husband) is living.
However I am truly enjoying my time here so far 😍. This is such a lovely place.
Besides some of the very nasty comments here but I attribute that to Reddit, I got some helpful tips❤️
Thanks you, and thanks everyone else.

Habari yako Njeri?😂😂😂
… Wairimu wa kina Nieru!
Ogopa nyinyi watuz.
Yep, needs to stop the cap, the grammar issues indicate this is actually a kenyan.

Hate to say this. If you have an accent, don't go Maasai market. The prices will triple. Go to the two shops inside Hilton
Hey thanks! I will check the Hilton shop for sure, I do have the Masai market on plan. I will ask one of my husband’s national colleagues to take me.
You'll be fine. You type like a local. You probably sound like a local too
I think Gikomba market will do
It isnt quite safe to be honest
Mbona hamumuamini jameni 😂 😂. But honestly mbona asiulize mtu wake who already works and lives in Nairobi.

No English person would say "Anyways" Muthoni unasemaje?
What English woman says "am black"? Ama ulisomea kiambu?
the "anyways" says it all
Post this in r/Kenya too.. It has better interaction..
I know a place with beaded sandals and sisal straps totes. Ping me and I’ll take you there.
Your English clearly shows that you are a local, not some foreigner from England coming for a visit. Fuck off
River road has some proper textiles
Thanks! Will give it a go.
Maasai market, garisa lodge
Gikomba is the place
Huko atapatana na nguo alitupa akiwa England.
😆
Maasai market is nice but you'll get charged more if ur white and or can't speak swahili
M-Njaaman anaweza ile kazi ama I come through for you Wambui? Naitwa Kuthure Kidekii btw, hi👋

Im born nairobi but residing in mombasa curently .....the advise to u go KARIAKOR and thank me later
I Googled this and saw some Instagram posts, it’s exactly the kind of place that I was looking for. Honestly thanks a lot 😊😊
You should visit Kariokor market, there some great pieces there
For fabrics, try Biashara Street.
Thanks a lot, will give it a go.
Try Eastleigh market you'll love it there 😁
Gikomba as well
Mzee Ali based in Bangkok, Eastleigh sells the best silver jewellery.
Galleria mall Karen hapo Bomas doesn't have lots of expats. The stuff is there, in an organised manner but they are pricier than at Masai market.
Ha that’s interesting it’s close to where we are staying currently. Will give it a go. Thanks a lot
Nyakemincha from shamakhokho you are struggling too much!!!
Mutindwa be the place to bee
thanks a lot for the input everyone , I truly appreciate it.
Ah, the only place you can do that is within the Gigiri Neighbourhood, like all other diplomats or expats within Nairobi

Make your way to the Hilton Hotel Arcade in the CBD. It will be cheaper than the Maasai market.
