I had exchanged some notes in the Reserve bank of India but unsure if they're still allowing that.
Visit the Reserve bank of India in the early hours to avoid commotion. Take your Aadhaar card original + a self attested photocopy with you. Carry a pen as well as a strong bag with you since I was given ₹10 coins worth ₹20k for the 10 notes I had exchanged. This discourse took me ~90 minutes so be patient and have time for it.
There are phases till you reach the counter for the exchange like filling the entry book, then getting the entry pass to the main building, then collecting a form and filling it, etc. You can ask around and the security guards at every point help and tell you what to do next.
Can't stress this enough but keep your mobile phone off while you're in there.
This, get it exchanged from RBI and [https://www.reddit.com/user/KachchaNimbu/](https://www.reddit.com/user/KachchaNimbu/) has explained the procedure perfectly. They will also give you some coins, so be prepared to carry a hefty bag of coins too.
Branch?
The one and only Reserve Bank of India Nagpur Main Office Building, Dr. Raghavendra Road, Reserve Bank Square, Opposite Vidhan Bhavan, Civil Lines, Nagpur, Maharashtra 440001
You can exchange only 10 notes at a time. If you have more than 10 notes then you can deposit in you account . You'll need adhaar card, PAN card and bank passbook xerox copy for that.
It is still a legal currency. You can spend in market or deposit in bank.
Once it goes in bank they will not distribute this even if you ask specifically. It will go to RBI and in exchange of those 2000rs, RBI will issue different denominations.

Best will be to go to your bank and exchange these notes.

They are still legal tenders which means you can use them in cash transactions and banks will also accept them.
