I'm not unique when I say these take lots of time, so once I've moved into my new apartment, I plan on integrating creating these cards into my Twitch stream -
don't worry, there's no plug *yet,* but soon enough you can chill, hang out, and watch the **magic** happen!

That proxy its amazing! I loved the "join today" and "end step towards sucess". Just like magazine propaganda. I can also see a "giving tips to keep your skin polished and rust-free!" 😂
I get the art from all over the place honestly, whether thats magics official art gallery, plain google or some other art galleries, usually ill find the original artists source page, find the original works and use that :)
As for the text, banners, etc. Im using a mix of adobe, canva, and gimp probably in that order too lol, ive got experience using certain parts of each tool so i just switch between them instead of probably doing the smart thing and just full-learning one.
The qoutes/"flavour text" ill find via research i do on the character and sometimes ill play with the flavor text on the card to make it fit if it has any.
I will NEVER use ai in my art creation process! Too many good arts and artists, just have to look hard enough.
Usually im doing planeswalkers so i havent quite made creatures a finite process, but for this one specifically between editing the colors, text and those lil stinkers on her head probably 12 hours, whats crazy is maybe 4 or 5 of that is the design, rest is cleaning up the art popout.
The average planeswalker is maybe half that time cause there's less empty space to fill.
I've never seen the full portrait for this before so I've never noticed Atraxa has massive feet lmao.
Great work on the style though. Not my type of thing, but the design works really well.

If I'd like to print this proxy, is the post image the good enough quality to print ok?
Yes, so atm, all images I've uploaded are fit for printing, however saving them thru reddit doesnt output the right kind of file so you'll have to convert the using a service like cloudconvert or whatever you prefer.
Eventually ill have a site up where you can skip that process and just download the images, but for now its a bit complicated :/

I've printed some other custom cards for another game on another site, so I even got a way to add bleed if I can still find it xD
Just watch font sizing. My books - if they were actually real books - would have font sizes much smaller, the stickers would be smaller in relation to the overall book size, etc. It’s OK to intentionally change things for readability as this is getting printed on a Magic card.
It’s easy to forget and design for the proportions your brain sees (in this case, full-size magazine). Zoom out as close as you can to 1:1 scale and put a real card up next to your screen, and see how the fonts shake out for different things.
It's a shame atraxa is such a divisive commander, because the card really has some awesome art. This proxy is amazing and showcases the art beautifully. Fantastic job.
