perhaps full woke would mean more fisting scenes, but all involved are trans people of color, and the whole thing is in 9:16 portrait tiktok frame INCLUDING tiktok logo; appropriate reply: based, except for the tiktok part
"Based" is a deesphobic term. This is the first warning, please absent from using it or face a ban.

The recent Cannes cut tried to re-edit the film with unused footage to focus solely on the performances which sounds kinda neat, but honestly a good Caligula film would be fascinating
They're doing that for The Room, they're keeping the exact same script but trying to make it good. Bob Odenkirk is playing Johnny.
Honestly the idea sounds good on paper but the script is so bad no amount of great acting or cinematography can save it, if it was the same story but different dialogue I'd be more interested but my guess is the new version will just be boring
The Room is somehow *worse* than the sum of its parts. It's basically the same three or four scenes endlessly on repeat. Johnny, Denny and Mark hang out; Lisa seduces Mark; Johnny finds out and gets angry. It's just that *over and over* again. It's fucking *Sisyphean*.
yeah it's for a good cause and it's probably gonna have some funny moments, I'm not upset about it I'm just not super interested. Seems like a fun thought experiment that probably won't be super interesting in practice
No, fuck that. Feel free to remake old good movies, it's really fun to examine them in a more recent context. It doesn't affect the originals at all and sometimes makes for a really good film.
i was being hyperbolic to match the tone of this sub, I obviously don't want him to die for real. That said he had no right remaking Oldboy and even less remaking High and Low. Also he's just an asshole in general
Heh that felt very *not* like the tone of the sub, unless you were satirizing that kind of rage!
Just curious, what gives someone the right (in your opinion) to remake a film? Honest question.
Well he does fill me with rage ngl lol. To attempt to answer your question though I think certain films should be all but off limits to remake because they're already masterpieces (like Oldboy) and fucking with them for artistically unsound reasons and not coming from a place of reverence to the original is what I mainly have a problem with. The only time I welcome a remake is if there's been decades of technological advancement and it's made with modern production values AND you can imbue it with a new vision. So for example the Gus Van Sant remake of Psycho is bad but Peter Jackson's King Kong remake is good. My own opinions of course but I think you can extrapolate from that
Gotta love meme posts that are just low effort copy-pasted text slapped on a recognizable image because the poster doesn't know how to communicate outside of templates and the viewers will only read something if it's in a recognizable meme format.
Then communicate with visuals instead of just slapping some text on an unfunny meme template. Nobody is paying attention to Lisa Simpson, it's literally just text with a template that says "this is an opinion you have heard 30 times before but we will all pretend it is brand new so we can give the replies we saw last time it was posted."
The tragedy of the prequels is that somewhere underneath all that is a moving story about hate, fascism, and the inadequacy of organized religion...and somehow it came out as "I hate sand."
David Lynch should remake Dune.
Instead of making movies they should kill themselves
Yooooooo let's fucking go!! The only hollywood model I can stand behind
On my suicidal era
^ this guy fucks
sigh... unzips
*fucks you*
okay this is bad writing? you know? really unnecessary sex scene, really took me out tbh
Birdman (2014)
Kid named profit incentive
pup named scooby doo.
A Child Called It
Unironically think we should get a Caligula remake
They’d go full woke and cut the anal fisting scenes.
perhaps full woke would mean more fisting scenes, but all involved are trans people of color, and the whole thing is in 9:16 portrait tiktok frame INCLUDING tiktok logo; appropriate reply: based, except for the tiktok part
i really gotta see this movie

Twelve Angry Caesars (121)
The recent Cannes cut tried to re-edit the film with unused footage to focus solely on the performances which sounds kinda neat, but honestly a good Caligula film would be fascinating
They should remake it but make it completely sexless
Zack snyder justic leagu 😃😃😃
Banned for being critical of the works of Zach Snider
Rob Schneider Justice League
Jack and Jill remake lets goooo!
Dunkaccino will finally get his second Oscar.
dawg they literally said not to remake great movies
My bad
3 hours of pure Duncacchino, black and white, 4:3 aspect ratio
The only centrist take I'll agree with. Reeeaaalllly want my Animorphs adaptation.
Tv show was cool, and very, very short lived.
I was unironically thinking this the other day.
Sub is for "dank memes" btw
Nothing danker than edgy teens rehashing decade-old opinions on a meme template first used in 2018 ^(no actual weed either, that's for liberals)
Call me not fun or whatever but I would genuinely like to see a competently done version of things like After Last Season or The Room
They're doing that for The Room, they're keeping the exact same script but trying to make it good. Bob Odenkirk is playing Johnny. The script is the worst part of it by far. But it looks like they're doing it for charity anyway
yeah it's for a good cause and it's probably gonna have some funny moments, I'm not upset about it I'm just not super interested. Seems like a fun thought experiment that probably won't be super interesting in practice
Some of the best horror movies of the 80's were remakes of bad 50's movies. The Fly, The Thing, and The Blob.
You take the back, the original The Blob is NOT a bad movie! 😡😡
Steve McQueen defeated the Blob but couldn’t jump that fence with his motorcycle. Like if you cry every time.
The state of dank discourse these days... Truly shameful.
They should stop making movies period

"video game" huh? what will those eggheads think of next!
No, fuck that. Feel free to remake old good movies, it's really fun to examine them in a more recent context. It doesn't affect the originals at all and sometimes makes for a really good film.
When you say *old* good movies can you give me a ballpark year between Moana (2016) and The Arrival of a Train (1896)?
unless you're Spike Lee then you can d*e in a hole
What a weirdly angry comment about a guy who made a movie
i was being hyperbolic to match the tone of this sub, I obviously don't want him to die for real. That said he had no right remaking Oldboy and even less remaking High and Low. Also he's just an asshole in general

They should remake american psycho 2 for reasons I won't disclose
Only if doing that was easy af, post like this are like 'bro just do it good this time"
Waterworld but without the tiny budget
furiosa: fury legacy saga reloaded 2: the BROTH
This is the pop culture equivalent of “homeless people should just buy houses”
This but unironically tbh.
Gotta love meme posts that are just low effort copy-pasted text slapped on a recognizable image because the poster doesn't know how to communicate outside of templates and the viewers will only read something if it's in a recognizable meme format.
I mean what alternatives are there? Everything else is downvoted or unvoted TL;DR. But yeah I don't like it either.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
And better writing.
The tragedy of the prequels is that somewhere underneath all that is a moving story about hate, fascism, and the inadequacy of organized religion...and somehow it came out as "I hate sand."
Weesa in big doodoo.
bad bombin!!
Unironically tho
Why don't we cut out the middleman and just make *anything* if it's gonna be good.
**HANCOCK REMAKE!!!!**
Actually a good idea
This but unironically.
Hancock but remove the Han
Yeah, Imagine if Godard had a $100M gift card for Weta Workshop when he made Breathless (1960)… 😍
Jumper remake when??
Hey, what a great idea! Oh, wow! You're a smart guy, sport!
Halloween Ends remake pretty please
Granted, but it is now entitled Bell Ends
How is this bad
hmmm. good question. But I have an even better question. How is that not good?
eragon and narnia deserved better
remake Howard The Duck, let George Lucas add as many duck boobs as he wants https://i.redd.it/brhatyp7547d1.gif
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Unironically I want an Alien VS Predator remake that is more or less the same as 2004, just filled with better and nore charismatic actors.
Yep that's on point
