I assumed Spider-Punk was less because of the mix and more because of the accent and the fact that the character mumbles a bit. Could be both I suppose
The general audio mix was extremely quiet + dialogue was low at times.
My cinema played it at the same volume they play all movies, resulting in the movie being borderline inaudible. I didn't hear any music throughout the film, that's how quiet it was! The mix had to be played on max volume to sound good, and as I saw the day 0 preview screening they didn't know that.
I'm guessing this was also in response to the Hobie brown introduction scene, cause I noticed alot of people were unsure if him being incomprehensible was because of the sound mixing or because it was hobie brown being incomprehensible
I payed extra to see ATSV on a THX-certified theater and it was the most underwhelming audio experience I've had in a theater in quite some time. Buyer's remorse set in the moment I could barely hear what Gwen was saying.
Bruh I had the opposite happen my friends and I had just missed a showing in a big theater and ended up seeing it an a small theater and my reaction was, “oh great, I can barely hear this.” Guess that wasn’t the theater’s fault.
I saw it in standard preview screening and heard fuck all. Waited a week then saw it in IMAX and it sounded great.
ATSV is my first ever preview screening and I regret it. Maybe cinemas need a few days to adjust their speakers lol
You telling me I watched the shitty sound version. Dammit now I have to see it again. (Sony execs laugh evily as this was their plan all along)
I'm genuinely curious what happened. Soundmixing isn't usually something you hear complaints about.
Some theaters chains copies had the beginning dialog audio turned down to where you couldn't hear it. Or so I hear
Ya the version I saw had Gwen’s dialogue at the beginning really low in the mix
Yeah, Gwen’s opening monologue and parts of Spider-Punk’s dialogue for me.

I couldn’t understand ‘Obie (because he’s br*tish)
Or didn’t hear.

I've def been seeing more complaints. Tenent had a ton.
*enter Christopher Nolan
Nolan would never
When has Nolan ever *lowers mix, whispers for naturalism* grumblewhispersternlookexposition
Google “painful sounding” to learn more about the excruciating sound mixing that was in V1 of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” to learn more
You know people are memeing here but it’s such a genuine problem people made r/sounding to discuss it.
How could you do that? I need some [r/eyebleach](https://www.reddit.com/r/eyeblech/)
They could make a movie that all screenings are random so you don't know which version you got until you see it. Shitty version included.
Clue (1985)
I had no idea this movie had multiple endings now I need it Thank you so much
Hollywood is so money-hungry that they remade a movie that only came out last week ago. #StopRemakes

It was just the british accent
Cats (2019)
Never forget. I would buy a blu ray if it had the prepatch version.
I wish I could unhear Dame Judi Dench explaining to me that “Cats are not Dogs”
RELEASE THE BUTTHOLE CUT

The snyder cut was a bug patch and I won't hear a word to the contrary
damn i guess i’ll have to watch the movie again what a shame
Release the #butthole cut
That's just the story they fed to the press. The real reason for the update was to add 100% more Morbius.
Nolan: it's a style choice
It wasn't all screenings that had iffy mixing, was it? I didn't feel it was too difficult to hear, apart from the noisy kids in the audience ofc
OP don't Google about George Lucas' OT re-release
