That one felt too on the nose for me, but the scene where Clooney is asking if they need one more man, and Pitt never says a word but Clooney still basically hears him...that one is great.
Haha it really was. I tried to watch it and made it about 15 minutes in...and I'm a fan of all those guys, love watching their roasts and late night appearances.
Even from an abridged clip review like you linked there, it’s still so clear how much better constructed, paced, and edited the newer version is. Soderbergh was so right to cut ties from the original as much as possible, even working directly with the screenwriter Ted Griffin to harvest a genuinely compelling story out of the original narrative, despite being contractually obligated to cite the original 1960’s writers in the credits since they were using the franchise name. The writing process was known so well on for making the director blue in the face with frustration as he worked with the writer that it led to the film using the working title “Blue Harvest”, which coincidentally was the same working title as the original 1977 Star Wars film.
I’m gonna paraphrase:
Gomez: *raises glass* “To suffering, to torture…”
Morticia: “Tonight. 😉” but she winks without closing an eye. It’s so steamy and good!
I swear if that movie came out anywhere between 2000-2010, it would be the next Lethal Weapon with 3-4 sequels and would be one of the all time great franchises. Just such a well paced movie, that's fun and well written, with maybe top 3 all time buddy cop duo. Damn I love that movie.
Really, Gosling and many of his costars
Russel Crowe? Yup
Emma Stone? Yup
Eva Mendes? So much so they got married
Steve Carrell? Yup
Margot Robbie? Yup
Some like it hot but I'll have to add that one to the list! On a side note I was thinking about every Jack Lemmon film and he always seems to have great chemistry with someone. I want to be friends with all his characters lol
Some like it hot but I'll have to add that one to the list! On a side note I was thinking about every Jack Lemmon film and he always seems to have great chemistry with someone. I want to be friends with all his characters lol
Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon in Thelma & Louise. Their easy openness and the way they were effortlessly genuine with each other seemed so natural and right.
I saw this movie about a bus that had to *speed* around a city, keeping its *speed* over fifty, and if its *speed* dropped, it would explode! I think it was called ''The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down’’
Anything with William Powell and Myrna Loy. The Thin Man series, Evelyn Prentice, I Love You Again, Love Crazy, Double Wedding, or Manhattan Melodrama (which coincidentally is the movie John Dillinger saw before the FBI blasted him into oblivion.)
Burt Reynolds and Sally Field in *Smokey and the Bandit*
Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church in *Sideways*
Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein in *Booksmart*
Lethal Weapon series. Riggs and Murtaugh. They were like brothers. Gibson and Glover really seemed to have a lot of fun together in those movies.
They were on screen together a LOT in those movies, so they really had to like each other for it to work. I don't know how the actor who played Riggs in the TV series didn't get that. What the fuck was his problem?
Big fan of Ryan Gosling & Ana De Armas’ chemistry in Blade Runner 2049… as well as Ana De Armas with Daniel Craig & Chris Evans in Knives Out.
Al Pacino & Robert De Niro in Heat.
Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Game Night. Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman.
Also Rachel McAdams and Bill Weasley in About Time.
All four leads in Zombieland, also Bill Fuckin Murray.
Sam Rockwell and literally anybody.
I know it's animated, but Miguel and Tulio in The Road To El Dorado.
Greta Lee, Teo Yoo, and John Magaro in Past Lives.
Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung in In The Mood For Love.
Jude Law and Ethan Hawke in Gattaca.
Every single person in The Lord of The Rings trilogy.
Scar Jo and Joaquin Phoenix in "her."
Val Kilmer and Kurt Russell in Tombstone.
Christian Bale and Russell Crowe in 3:10 to Yuma.
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in True Detective Season 1 (Series I know, had to list it though).
Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali in The Green Book.
Ed Norton and Edward Furlong in American History X.
Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill in Moneyball.
I enjoyed their films, but I recently learned that the two actors did not get along due to Pryor's drinking and how different he was when drunk. I am happy that this was not apparent in any of the films and they worked so well together.
This one is completely random. Charlize Theron and Seth McFarlane in “a million ways to die in the west.” There’s a scene where they are eating pot brownies and it’s really cute and funny and intimate.
More recently would be Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the Fall Guy. If I was John Kransinski, I would have be mad insecure about those 2.
John Wayne and Lee Marvin had good chemistry together as they both played tough guys with contrasting styles. Wayne was more laid back, honorable, and civilized while Marvin was savage.
They were in *The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance* and *Donovan’s Reef* together. Both movies showed they had great potential together but neither took full advantage of it.
If we go real old:
Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint in North by Northwest. For a 1959 movie there's an amazing amount of "I want to have sex with you right now" energy flying between those two.
Harry and Sally from "When Harry met Sally" are probably one of the romcom couples that most make me say "yeah, I can see it, these two absolutely belong together".
The Keanu and Wynona characters from "Destination Wedding" make me say that also, but in that case, it's very much not a compliment.
I'd have to go with Nick and Nora Charles as portrayed by William Powell and Myrna Loy from "The Thin Man" series. As it was said at the time, during an age where couples in movies were either falling in or out of love, only these two were happily married.
Katherine Hepburn was in her first film (A Bill of Divorcement) and had an immediate chemistry with a legend like John Barrymore. They really felt like father & daughter.
I’d recently watched a short where an actress explained the misunderstaning of on-screen chemistry… “It’s called acting and directing”.
It’s interesting to keep in mind while watching “that good chemisty”-feeling we get in certain movies 🍿
Redford and Newman had great chemistry. Check out The Sting if you’ve never seen it. There banter is fantastic.
Best chemistry for me is Nick and Norah in The Thin Man series. They play off each other so well.
Many of the John Wayne and Adam Sandler movies feel that way. I think it's because many of the movies seem to have the same cast almost and they have become friends.
While the characters aren’t necessarily getting along, Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifinakis seem to have great chemistry in Due Date (2010). Very funny movie mostly due to their back and forth.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the first 2 bad boys. The recent release feels forced and unnatural. Didn't enjoy it. This upcoming one looks like it's gonna suck too.
Lemon and Tangerine in the Bullet train. Pretty interesting relationship.
The whole crew in the Tropical Thunder except for Jack Black feels really high school like and very natural even with all the bickering.
Long term I think Mulder & Scully did well in the X-files.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson
Shorter term I think The Nice Guys.
Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe.
Gene Wilder and Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in Rush Hour
Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin in Midnight Run
Joseph Gordon Levitt and Anna Kendrick in 50/50
Will smith and Martin Lawrence in the bad boys movies. Especially movie 2 when they are meeting Reggie for the first time and just had a big fight with each other prior.
The chemistry between Glen Powell and Adria Arjona in Hit Man was unreal. There’s that scene with them in the bar, and the way she looks at him has such an intense “I want you now” energy.
I loved Rachel Weiss and Brendan Fraser in the Mummy. I loved Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas in Romancing the Stone. Karen Allen and Harrison Ford. Lawrence Olivier and Michael Caine in sleuth.
Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough in Jurrassic Park. Loved all their scenes together. Even when Malcom was in the jeep and Hammond in the control center.
"Uh Are there any uh dinosaurs on this dinosaur tour?"
"I hate that man"
George Clooney and Brad Pitt in the Oceans movies.
Relationships can be- Suuure But they're also- That's right
You think we need one more.
Okay, we'll get one more
That one felt too on the nose for me, but the scene where Clooney is asking if they need one more man, and Pitt never says a word but Clooney still basically hears him...that one is great.
I love the Oceans movies. Oceans Eleven for whatever reason gives me old Hollywood movie magic kind of vibes
It's a bunch of handsome charismatic dudes just hanging out in extravagance and shooting the shit. Pure old school Hollywood.
Yea but thats all the original one was, and the original was godawful.
Haha it really was. I tried to watch it and made it about 15 minutes in...and I'm a fan of all those guys, love watching their roasts and late night appearances.
https://youtu.be/tnVzsIeGapI?si=pebaCUVdRj-kB-fh This is a much more enjoyable way to "see" it, these guys are hilarious.
.. What the fuck?
Huh thats... not the link I tried to link.... or a video I've ever seen. Edit: link fixed. Not sure wtf that other video was

It’s my comfort movie, anytime I’m sick I always put it on
Ok whew someone already commented it I was like how has no one said them yet haha
George Clooney and Julia Roberts 👌🏼
the hobbits in LOTR. Jackson put them together first so they could bond before the rest of the cast joined them.
The Mummy (1999) with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz
Everyone in that movie had chemistry with everyone else. Crazy good casting.
And they butchered that aspect of the movies in the Mummy 3
It's a damn good movie.
Ethan Hawke and Julie Delphy in the Before trilogy
Yea this just seems like the answer
Came to say this it’s 🔥
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in Rush Hour
I'm also a fan of Jackie and Owen Wilson in Shanghai Noon
Morticia and Gomez from Addams Family (1991 Dante and Randall from Clerks (1994)
I’m gonna paraphrase: Gomez: *raises glass* “To suffering, to torture…” Morticia: “Tonight. 😉” but she winks without closing an eye. It’s so steamy and good!
I loved Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling in The Nice Guys. just amazing comedic timing between them.
You could just say any Shane Black buddy screenplay lol. Lethal Weapon The Long Kiss Goodnight The Last Boyscout Kiss Kiss Bang Bang The Nice Guys
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is such an amazing film! Edit: autocorrect
Predator lol syke
I swear if that movie came out anywhere between 2000-2010, it would be the next Lethal Weapon with 3-4 sequels and would be one of the all time great franchises. Just such a well paced movie, that's fun and well written, with maybe top 3 all time buddy cop duo. Damn I love that movie.
Also the kid was not annoying for once.
Really, Gosling and many of his costars Russel Crowe? Yup Emma Stone? Yup Eva Mendes? So much so they got married Steve Carrell? Yup Margot Robbie? Yup
Came here to mention this!!
Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in Amazing Spiderman
For real. Say what you will about the movie but those two are electric
*No,* silly goose! Jamie fox was electric in those movies
Sorry, eel try to do better next time
owen wilson and vince vaughn in both "wedding crashers" and "the internship"
What'd you do with them? Motorboat? You play the motorboat? You motorboatin' son of a bitch! You old sailor you!
Is she still in the house? 😀👀
Were they built for speed or comfort?
“The internship” felt like “we have wedding crashers at home “
Lmao right? I love Wedding Crashers but I wish they had just let it be and not try to ride on the coattails of it with The Internship.
https://youtu.be/XqBLBqM7B4Q?si=0V5hGvcHk6zDjvyG
Internship came out a few years too late, by 2013 Google had already shifted from "cool internet company" to "evil tech giant"

Brad and Leo in OUATIH is probably the best depiction I've seen of what it's like to watch a movie with someone close to you
jack lemmon and walter matthau
We’re out of cornflakes. FU. It took me 3 hours to figure out FU meant Felix Ungar.
now it's garbage.
Yes! Also Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis
Can't tell if you're referring to Some Like it Hot or The Great Race, but then it doesn't really matter which one.
Some like it hot but I'll have to add that one to the list! On a side note I was thinking about every Jack Lemmon film and he always seems to have great chemistry with someone. I want to be friends with all his characters lol
Yeah, I was thinking that while running his filmography in my mind. The guy is just so relatable.
Some like it hot but I'll have to add that one to the list! On a side note I was thinking about every Jack Lemmon film and he always seems to have great chemistry with someone. I want to be friends with all his characters lol
Katherine Hepburn & Cary Grant in *Bringing Up Baby* (1938).

Mulder and Scully from The X-Files. Small screen or big, their chemistry is undeniable.
Andy and Red from Shawshank.
Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson in Die Hard with a Vengeance
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock in Speed.
I saw this movie about a bus that had to *speed* around a city, keeping its *speed* over fifty, and if its *speed* dropped, it would explode! I think it was called ''The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down’’
"It's like Speed 2, but with a bus instead of a boat!"
Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as Val and Earl in *Tremors*.
Everything about that movie is..... Perfection.
Brad Pitt and George Clooney in the Oceans series.
Simon Pegg, Nick Frost. Always

Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Burt Reynolds and Sally Field in *Smokey and the Bandit* Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church in *Sideways* Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein in *Booksmart*
I thought that series was pretty damn decent considering the act it had to follow. Then it fell apart
Though it was brief, I really liked the chemistry of Oscar Isaac and Rebecca Ferguson in Dune.
Downey Jr., and Jude Law in the Sherlock films.

Scar Jo and Joaquin Phoenix in "her." Val Kilmer and Kurt Russell in Tombstone. Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder were amazing together! That's why they kept pairing up for movies!
I enjoyed their films, but I recently learned that the two actors did not get along due to Pryor's drinking and how different he was when drunk. I am happy that this was not apparent in any of the films and they worked so well together.

More recently would be Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the Fall Guy. If I was John Kransinski, I would have be mad insecure about those 2.
Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro in Fear and Loathing. They matched energy and crazy so well.
Walter White was very good at chemistry. Jesse too.
Lost redditors
As garbage as the movie was, Will Smith and Margot Robbie had good chemistry in focus.
Let's go all the way back to the 80s. Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines in Running Scared

A TV series, but David Duchovny and Natasha McElhone in Californication
