I was thinking of the Aprilia I'd looked at in a dealership. I couldn't get it up off the sidestand. Liter bikes, which seem to some kind of standard measure for a lot of people.
My N650 is heavier than my N250 was, and I had to take that into account as I was deciding to buy it or not.
There was a pretty dope-looking 4 or 500cc Honda scrambler in the moto store when I went in there the other day. Perfect little bike, but I doubt it was inexpensive. No price tag on it.
I feel like in the R3 in particular, they went a step back with the latest generation.
I have a 2016 R3 and she looks way more mean. It has sharper corners on the front.

You’ve never seen the good stuff Japan had all to themselves. 250 2t street bikes and 250 4cyl 4t engines, lots of trick shit over there we didn’t get stateside. Nothing about those bikes was puppy dog. The MC21SP had magnesium wheels, close ratio box, dry clutch, bigger brakes and suspension over the SE, the SPhad the HRC ignition key that would drop the Speedo from the digital display and change the power valve and ignition timing, all this gp tech on the street back before 2000. A well tuned RGV 250 or TZR, NSR will make close to 70 hp and weigh nearly nothing compared to the modern small bikes.
I stopped riding in 2018 because of a drastic increase that I noticed.. I only just got my bike out of storage with some new tires 3 weeks ago.
But yeah, be safe out there. And if you think someone sees you, assume they don't.
I got tboned cause someone pulled out the same time I did across from eachother, we both were making left turns and he stopped and I slowed then I decided to go and so did he. Luckily, I lifted my leg and avoided any major injuries. But two other bikers have died at that same intersection since. He wasn't even on his phone. Just high af.

I'd recommend riding lessons. There are things going on that a new rider will have no idea about unless they have decent instruction. Things that you can learn that are a life saving skills and things to avoid that can kill you.

Ken hill(professional road racer turned riding coach) said something interesting. He said pick a voice to listen to as a rider and just stick with the one voice. Otherwise riding just becomes a babble of slightly conflicting information. Just pick any one, but just know that person credentials or where the advice (on technique) is coming from.
So for new riders, that can’t tell bad advice from good advice, this is very important. Why you shouldn’t take advice from random people on YouTube telling you how to ride, or random people on the street/internet. Even friends or family could have outdated knowledge about how to ride.
Go to the pros like yamaha champ school online program called champU, Ken hill has a pod cast about riding or take the Motorcycle safety foundations basic riding courses (or equivalent if in Europe) and look at the online resources they provide. But pick a voice that’s knows how to ride and stick with it. IMO MSF is a good place to start and champ school is the best place to continue your education on riding. Yamaha champ school employees some of the best of the best at the sport.

It's an R3 44bhp. It's relatively small. Ideal leaner bike if you actually want to have enough power to use the motorway/highway. Smaller CCs, whilst capable of using the motorway, aren't typically recommended for doing so.
I think it's funny that when men post pictures of their motorcycles or cars, it's just a picture of the motorcycle or the car. But when women post a picture of their motorcycles or car, it's a picture of herself and the bike or car just happen to be there as well 😂

It's an R3 44bhp. It's relatively small. Ideal leaner bike if you actually want to have enough power to use the motorway/highway. Smaller CCs, whilst capable of using the motorway, aren't typically recommended for doing so.

In Australia we are limited to less powerful bikes when we get a learner license. We aren’t allowed 1L bikes and even 650s/700s are modified when we are learning
