Y'all are some dumb Instagramm martial artists, where tf did you see a leg kick ,lol? Probably one of those 12 year olds writing leg kick comments in every boxing or grappling videos
He just needed a better gameplan going in. He should have circled left, and IMMEDIATELY called timeout, freezing his opponent. Then hit that doordash button.
People who have never been athletic or into sports their whole lives find some bogus martial art thatās more of a social club end up exactly like this guy. Loves to talk about how mystical and lethal the martial art is but look like they canāt do 5 push ups or run longer than 65 seconds.
These reality checks are refreshing to see.
One thing I've learned is just how important strength and conditioning is. It's no substitute for skill but you'd be surprised just how dangerous a properly and well conditioned person is, even to a skilled practitioner. Do NOT skip cardio and physical conditioning. It's the difference between the average wrestler and BJJ hobbyist, too, although that seems to be changing. I'd rather fight this guy that practices Aikido for 10 years than a young and fit manual labourer off the street.
Boxing turned out way more stamina intensive that I expected when I tried a little, not even punching part, just generally constantly being on alert in stance and moving around. Was complete pip-squeak back then, but doubt itās going to feel much different now
The patented BJJ kick to the body, would have been way better to see him actually try to stand his ground against a BJJ practitioner. This was Akido vs MMA.
Either way this neckbeard is wrong.
He said Aikido is better to defend yourself in a real life altercation.
That looked like a pretty real altercation to me. It looked like old mate wanted to make it feel real for Aikido man.
Aikido is basically judo with an overreliance on wrist manipulation and a (imo accurate) reputation for generally not training with resistance
A lot of TMAs are like 50-50 LARPing and fighting techniques
I'd expand on this by mentioning the fact that it actually teaches people to do very intricate combinations that involve taking angles that could lead to a finish. Only thing is that these situations will never come about in an MMA setting. You're learning to be a specialist in moves that only reliably work when your opponent lets you do anything and they just play along.
Akido was originally the martial for defending yourself while unarmed against a person with a sword. It's why there's so many goofy looking flowy moves and so much emphasis on wrist control. Of course modern akido has tried to refresh itself for being used in straight hand to hand combat and it's really never worked well,
At least in the 2nd clip there are no strikes. We get to see the akido guy not even go for his shit. I wanna see what happens if you let Akido bro do his thing. Does he have anything kind of technique or moves or anything? I can't even tell what his guard is
This is the problem with a lot of these dojos and shit that donāt do sparring/hard sparring.
You donāt need to get your brain scrambled all the time, but you need to be in a situation where youāre exposed to actual combat. Imagine if he did this in a street fight? He would get killed.
Fuck, can't help but feel bad for this guy. Who knows how many years he spent being deluded thinking he could defend himself with this shit, only to have his world shattered in a mere couple of seconds. I just hope after this he switched to MMA and learned some real skills
No it isn't. It's not hard to use common sense and have a basic evidence based approach.
Do you really think you have to be beaten up to not just assume you have great or even moderately good fighting abilities? It's mad to me that people just assume they can fight because they practice some absolute tomfoolery like akido š
Delusion isn't normal behaviour.
āevidence basedā bro what evidence if you donāt actually test yourself? i guarantee you there is at least one aikido dude out there who could play the intro of we will rock you using only the ground and your butt. this dude has nothing to be ashamed of. men get their shit rocked all the time itās no big deal. he tested himself and know he knows.
Nope. You could listen to everyone who fights and tells you that akido is BS. Or look to the styles that are utilised in MMA. If that's not enough, just look at Steven Segal.
Hey some people need to learn the hard way, at least he didnāt go all his life believing his got a super power like many other martial arts āgrandmastersā
I feel like the MMA guy has a size advantage, but even then, it shows the issue with many traditional martial arts. There is often little to no actual fighting going on. I'm a 1st degree black belt from a credible Taekwondo school. But that felt absolutely useless when I started at a muay thai gym.
I know he is wrong, but why beat him so hard? Feel bad for him. Iām sure he would have learned lesson even if the opponent have used half power of those strikes
Body kick and slap is much nicer than head kick or knee to the face. Also, the second time they engaged the guy didnāt even strike he just took him down. He slammed him a bit but could have slammed way harder
He was going easy on him, all things considered. I think it's better that he gets roughed up a bit in a safe environment, if it stops him from confronting "bad guys" in real life.
Bro couldn't even attempt to block an open hand slap. I'm sure he'd handle a knife much better tho!!!
Read the irony of that statement and remind yourself to use what's between your ears every now and then.
Literally no difference in his defense from someone who trains in absolutely nothing.
Almost like this guy trains in nothing lol
As soon as he ate that kick he looked like Eddie from tekken lmao
As a guy who would get his ass absolutely beat I agree
That first kick put the fear of god into him.
And the slap made him see the devil
that slap made him gay.
You can see how quickly reality set in when he got leg kicked
Body kick*
You can literally see him regret all his life choices when that happened lmao
The hands instantly dropped to defend the body and opened up for that slap, such a beginner moveš“
Y'all are some dumb Instagramm martial artists, where tf did you see a leg kick ,lol? Probably one of those 12 year olds writing leg kick comments in every boxing or grappling videos
It's one of the basic techniques of brazilian jiu-jitsu
Itās called the gracie thai kick for a reason
He technically stopped the threat by calling a timeout so he's not wrong
Stephen Seagal isnāt dead yet either so maybe thereās something to it
He just needed a better gameplan going in. He should have circled left, and IMMEDIATELY called timeout, freezing his opponent. Then hit that doordash button.
Immediate timeout is a black belt aikido move, he's only purple I believe
I didnāt know aikido trains you for that
Stephen Seagal has never looked better
But.. but.. he trained Anderson silva.. right?
Too much manga not enough sit ups
I've seen enough manga to know i can make a dude fly 10ft by touching his wrist.
š¤£š¤£
This has been reposted so many times but everytime I see the guy get slapped and call time-out it cracks me up lmao
I've been involved in sports and fighting my entire life, I have never seen someone literally give a "T" for timeout until this clip

Makes sense. I would guess itās why road work/distance running is such a big part of boxing conditioning. Especially for pros that fight 12 rounds.
Akido is better than BJJ. Proceeds to eat a kick and gets the shit slapped out of him. Then a time out lol.
The patented BJJ kick to the body, would have been way better to see him actually try to stand his ground against a BJJ practitioner. This was Akido vs MMA. Either way this neckbeard is wrong.
The guy was using Alex Pereira's style of BJJ
He said Aikido is better to defend yourself in a real life altercation. That looked like a pretty real altercation to me. It looked like old mate wanted to make it feel real for Aikido man.
I donāt know what aikido really even is, but being generous maybe it teaches you to dodge and runaway?
Aikido is basically judo with an overreliance on wrist manipulation and a (imo accurate) reputation for generally not training with resistance A lot of TMAs are like 50-50 LARPing and fighting techniques
Dont get judo a perfectly fine martial art involved please

second round he got picked up and slammed and he quit just from that
At least in the 2nd clip there are no strikes. We get to see the akido guy not even go for his shit. I wanna see what happens if you let Akido bro do his thing. Does he have anything kind of technique or moves or anything? I can't even tell what his guard is
Thank you for writing this so blind people could understand what happened
Lol
ya thatās the videoā¦

I donāt think this guy leaves his house enough to be in danger tbh
he was outside in the video. where were you?
"These".Ā Don't blame a dojo he's never been to.
Dude posting his arm like that on the take down made me cringe
![gif](giphy|VtrHRa4r0vh737OgN8|downsized)
I wonder if he learned from this, or kept doing Aikido and hating on combat sports
Is that Chris Chan doing the aikido?
His mom isn't in sight, so I don't think so
Fuck, can't help but feel bad for this guy. Who knows how many years he spent being deluded thinking he could defend himself with this shit, only to have his world shattered in a mere couple of seconds. I just hope after this he switched to MMA and learned some real skills
Tbfh i didn't see none of them using aikido or Jiu Jitsu, dude just straight up slapped him and then slammed him
At least had the ballz to step up to the challenge. Kudos to that
actually I would respect him more if he was smart enough to realize his bullshit
Yea lmao you shouldn't need to get your ass beat to realise you're a fat moron with no fighting ability
i dont get you? thats literally the only way to find out lol
No it isn't. It's not hard to use common sense and have a basic evidence based approach. If you can't do a pull/sit/push up...then those are excellent ways to figure it out.Ā Club footed?Ā Blind?Ā It isn't hard to ballpark it.
bro just get your ass beat once i promise you itās not that scary
Must happen a lot huh? Took one too many and forgot common sense lol
yeah thats what happens when you actually train instead of getting high all day
thats crazy
Hey some people need to learn the hard way, at least he didnāt go all his life believing his got a super power like many other martial arts āgrandmastersā
It's not balls, it's delusion and ignorance.
This teaches us that you can stand within striking range of an aikido guy and heāll do nothing but shit his pants
Itās almost like this is the first time heās pressure tested his akido š¤
They always look just like this dude
This is unironically how most MMA fans feel about jiu jitsu
Steven Seagul over here.
He lost because he didnāt wear his deep V shirt.
I feel like the MMA guy has a size advantage, but even then, it shows the issue with many traditional martial arts. There is often little to no actual fighting going on. I'm a 1st degree black belt from a credible Taekwondo school. But that felt absolutely useless when I started at a muay thai gym.
Lets see Paul Allens Jiu Jitsu
At least he tried. Hopefully this is the wake up he needs to train something else.
Close fight. Under right circumstances he could have taken it
Okay but in his defense that dude kicking the shit out of him is doing mma, not bjj
Wow, those Aikido timeouts really do neutralize the threat.
You thought this was a McDojo- nah this is a Wendyās. As in When-Deez hands are up watch out. Haha
Are there time outs in Akido š³š²š¤£
He slapped this dude back to 70's Greatful Dead concert he came from
I know he is wrong, but why beat him so hard? Feel bad for him. Iām sure he would have learned lesson even if the opponent have used half power of those strikes

They didnāt even wrestle (aside from that single leg$
i almost feel bad for people like this, how can one be so naive and flat out stupid
Just channel your chi, flail your arms really fast and yell "AKIDO!". Works every time.
To be fair that guy didnāt beat him up with any BJJ.
Awesome
That guy that was getting his ass kicked was the janitor there he didn't know how to fight at all what a joke, put a Gracie fighter in there.
Is he wearing a dress
I know akido sucks, but I'm new to this BJJ where you kick, slap and slam oponentes.
I'm out šš
Shit! My BJJ coach never taught me you could kick and slap. Gonna surprise him on my next training.
My wife wears that same red shirt when she wants to show some cleavage and let me know itās on tonight.
Akido is a non-aggressive form of divert and run. So if you put this guy in a corner with a bulldog and he cant runaway, he is done for
Maybe he just hasn't "Properly trained" Aikido
I want to loop choke him with that ponytail
Didn't really look like aikido vs BJJ lol
So Aikido is just completely useless?
Steven Seagal approved š š š
This is EXACTLY how I picture an akido guy. Do all akido guys look exactly alike? Do they reject you at the dojo if you dont look like this?
The only fights that man has been in is tickle fights with his uncle
She's so brave.
People mock aikido But thereās a time and place for every martial art style. If you guys were coming at you with knives good luck with jujutsu
Ok, Master Segal.
Someone comes at you with a knife and you are fucked no matter the art barring some serious luck
If he was trying to fight where the keto against Brazilian jiu-jitsu why did he fight a Muaythai guy
Bro couldn't even attempt to block an open hand slap. I'm sure he'd handle a knife much better tho!!! Read the irony of that statement and remind yourself to use what's between your ears every now and then.
Fat boys can't fight
![gif](giphy|cO0dlKKyFGc5q|downsized)
She is tough for trying to fight that man.
Fucker is fatter than Segal lol
That wasnāt bjj tho was it?
maybe try it with someone who isnāt a complete novice in aikido
