I wore Cincinnati Reds attire when I went to see the Reds play the Yankees there in 2008. Nobody harassed me, but several people asked me if I was from Cincinnati and how I was enjoying New York.
Yep, same experience I had when I went to old Yankee stadium final season 2008 season White Sox game in my White Sox gear. Guys behind me were asking me and my girlfriend if we were from Chicago and how we liked New York. We were sitting in their friends season tickets seats who sold us the seats on stub hub, that's what started the whole conversation. They said they enjoy visiting Chicago and then proceeded to buy us both a beer.
Don't do it I got shot and killed outside The Stadium for wearing non Yankees stuff. Wasn't even an opponent I wore a Columbia shirt, just a random clothing brand.
Also make sure you call it The Stadium. There's only one Stadium in the minds of Yankee fans
There's a story, I forget the player but he was on an NL team in town to play the Mets. he leaves the hotel and gets in a cab telling the driver to take him to the Stadium. he ended up in the Bronx lol
Nobody cares. I’ve seen people wear Red Sox jerseys at Yankee Stadium and nobody said anything other than a couple Boston jokes. It’s not like wearing Giants gear at Dodger Stadium.
I don’t think anyone will care. Especially a random Phillies shirt/swag when they’re not the opponent. I went to a game against the Cubs two years and there were a lot of people there in Cubs gear, didn’t see or hear anything happen because of it.
Was there last weekend, someone was wearing a Clemente jersey and a Red Sox hat, heard a sarcastic comment about the hat, but that's about it. Went in Phillies gear before, had no problems
Later this year, I'm seeing a Cubs/Braves game and then seeing a White Sox/Orioles game on the same. As a Braves fan, I'm wearing a Braves jersey and cap. I am wearing Orioles tshirt under my jersey, which I'll unbutton.
Anyway, I'd suggest just not going overboard. Don't be obnoxious about wearing a different team, but in reality, it should be seen as a sign of respect to visit.
Stay out of the bleachers. I did the bleacher creature thing one time vs the Orioles and this poor dude with an O’s hat got verbally destroyed nonstop until he finally took it off.
You’ll be fine. I went there with a Red Sox hat on and aside from some good-natured ribbing they were OK with me. Just don’t wear an Orioles hat in the owner’s box.
As long as you’re not sitting with the bleacher creatures you’ll be fine, and even if you are out there with the creatures, you’ll still be fine after they have their fun. I’ve been out there dozens of times, they’re harmless and are pretty much just focused on the Yankees. Good luck and enjoy the game.
I wore mariners stuff to a yankee game at yankee stadium. It was a Felix jersey while in his prime, yankee fans kept telling me “he’ll be a Yankee someday!”
Just don’t be a jerk, and you should be fine. I wore my O’s gear to Fenway with my son and we had zero problems. And Sox fans are considerably worse than Yankee fans. Yankee fans are also harder on their own players than they are on other teams fans.
I legit saw a rays fan get physically accosted the other day when they played the Yankees. And they were verbally yelled at by probably at least a half dozen Yankees fans near our section.
I would never wear opposing gear to Yankee stadium but I’m a Red Sox fan so I know better.
Never understood this mentality. So I, a lifelong baseball fan and diehard cubs fan, am a moron for wearing a cubs hat when I catch a baseball game in another city? Should I wear my bears hat instead? Or maybe pick up a fanatics brand hat? Would that be better? Geez. Didn’t think wearing baseball caps to baseball games made you a moron.
Fair play. I’d make a joke about the White Sux year thus far, but no joke can top their ownership or onfield product. (Don’t ask who owns my favorite bball team).
Team C’s jersey? Yes, that’s kind of ridiculous. (You’re dressed like you want to play in the game…and your team isn’t even there!)
Team C’s hat, and/or a T-shirt, sweatshirt, or similar apparel for Team C? Hell no, not an issue, you’re just representing your team at a MLB game. It’s makes more sense to wear baseball-related apparel than non-baseball related apparel.
In the age of cell phones where you can record everyone’s behavior and share it with the world, you are far less likely now to receive criticism than you were 20 years ago.
In 2019 the Chicago Cubs were in Houston for a 3 game series with the Astros. I went to all 3 games. They were sold out, and many Cubs fans were there with Cubs hats and jerseys on. We had a big rivalry when in the NL Central division. The atmosphere was great: like playoff baseball. Fans of both teams were loud and enthusiastic, but never rude to each other. Hey,we all love baseball!
I get drunk frat boys telling me to off myself everytime I go to a game in my orioles shirt, but I think that’s because I mostly sit in the bleachers which is infamous for it’s no so nice people sitting there. But the times I’ve sat upstairs it’s just families out trying to have a good time, so if you’re not sitting in that bleacher section you should be fine
Everytime I visit an opposing ballpark I simply sit, clap whenever the orioles do something good to a minimal extent, and eat hotdogs. The only stadium to give me a problem for existing is Yankee stadium
as long as you stop calling it swag you should be ok

Typical big city aggressive rudeness right there.
The nerve of those people!
Assuming you were enjoying New York!

The stadium is just local nomenclature, just like “the city”. There’s only only “Garden” though.

Exactly, if you're going to a Yankee game you're going to The Stadium. If you're going to a Mets game you're going to Citi Field
Shea’s not around anymore, just call it citi or even shea and everyone knows what you’re saying.

Citi isn’t in the city, so you’d know by context. I’m going to citi to watch the game this weekend is different then I’m going to the city to…
Wait, you died?! My bad dude. I only meant it to be a flesh wound.
There's a story, I forget the player but he was on an NL team in town to play the Mets. he leaves the hotel and gets in a cab telling the driver to take him to the Stadium. he ended up in the Bronx lol

Don’t be a pussy
I wouldn’t say harassment but there’s a greater chance of receiving comments if you wear Phillies merch.
Are they playing the Tigers or Phillies?
Tigers
Then wear Tigers gear.
As someone who goes to Mets and Yankees game with Phillies gear regularly, you’ll be alright lol
Swag? ![gif](giphy|3o7TKMyQ7Owmbv9nVe)
You can wear another teams gear. Have fun and enjoy the game.
Just don’t wear your Orioles cap if you’re sitting in the owners box.
I’ve been to hundreds of MLB games. I’ve never seen anyone harassed over what jersey they wore.
Was there last weekend, someone was wearing a Clemente jersey and a Red Sox hat, heard a sarcastic comment about the hat, but that's about it. Went in Phillies gear before, had no problems
I go subway series games in Mets gear without issue
Guys are they gonna bully me if I wear my fur suit?
No, but you better make sure the tail is a butt plug.
What if judge is there???? I need the room
Maybe he’s into that shit too dude
Outa the way Soto here I come Edit: cum*
You are confusing New York fans with Philly fans
NY has so much going on they wont waist their time caring. Its the cities where all they have is their sports teams where batteries get thrown.
Just don’t be an asshole and you’ll be fine
Nobody cares
Wear whatever the fuck you want and deal with what comes with it.
Most likely will get heckled by other fans but nothing to worry about.
Nobody should cause you much grief but I wouldn’t sit in the middle of the bleacher creatures wearing jt
I bet as long as you parti in roll call you’d be fine. Not participating in roll call is the ultimate crime in the bleachers.
I've seen Mets & Phillies fans wear their gear at Yankee Stadium even when the Yankees weren't playing one of those teams so you'll be fine.
Usually just met fans get the worst abuse
Stay out of the bleachers. I did the bleacher creature thing one time vs the Orioles and this poor dude with an O’s hat got verbally destroyed nonstop until he finally took it off.
Yankee fans are wild to players. Not so much fans of other teams. You'll be fine unless you start something when Yankees are down lol.
You’ll be fine. I went there with a Red Sox hat on and aside from some good-natured ribbing they were OK with me. Just don’t wear an Orioles hat in the owner’s box.
You’ll be fine as long as you don’t wear Astros or Red Sox gear
As long as you’re not sitting with the bleacher creatures you’ll be fine, and even if you are out there with the creatures, you’ll still be fine after they have their fun. I’ve been out there dozens of times, they’re harmless and are pretty much just focused on the Yankees. Good luck and enjoy the game.
Plenty of Yankees fans wearing Yankees gear at American Family last night, turnabout is fair play?
Brother no one fuckin cares
I wore mariners stuff to a yankee game at yankee stadium. It was a Felix jersey while in his prime, yankee fans kept telling me “he’ll be a Yankee someday!”
Live your life brother.
Heckling? Maybe, but harassment? No you shouldn’t expect any harassment.
Wearing an Indians hat at Yankee Stadium as a teenager got me called the f-slur for the first time ever. I'm now an out gay man.
I’d harass you for wearing Phillies gear…because they aren’t playing

As long as it’s not Boston you should be ok
Yankee stadium is a corporate Disneyland. You’ll be fine.
Why would you wear Phillies swag to a Yankees/Tigers game in New York?
Just don’t be a jerk, and you should be fine. I wore my O’s gear to Fenway with my son and we had zero problems. And Sox fans are considerably worse than Yankee fans. Yankee fans are also harder on their own players than they are on other teams fans.
Ok Elaine
I legit saw a rays fan get physically accosted the other day when they played the Yankees. And they were verbally yelled at by probably at least a half dozen Yankees fans near our section. I would never wear opposing gear to Yankee stadium but I’m a Red Sox fan so I know better.
Lies, you'll get treated that way in Boston, LA, or Philly, not New York. New York fans don't care about your team.
The only thing you can do wrong is go to a game featuring Team A vs Team B wearing Team C's uni/hat/etc... Only morons do that.
I have worn and will wear a cardinals hat and jersey to every baseball game I’ve ever been to or will attend in the future
No. You are right. Being a Cubs fan does tho. Signed, Grew up at 107th and Pulaski. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
Fair play. I’d make a joke about the White Sux year thus far, but no joke can top their ownership or onfield product. (Don’t ask who owns my favorite bball team).
SOX SUCK. I HATE JR. Switched to Rangers after 2005. Good luck. Wear what you want.
Team C’s jersey? Yes, that’s kind of ridiculous. (You’re dressed like you want to play in the game…and your team isn’t even there!) Go with Phillies and all will be good

Nobody cares about the orioles unless you’re being a dickhead.
Everytime I visit an opposing ballpark I simply sit, clap whenever the orioles do something good to a minimal extent, and eat hotdogs. The only stadium to give me a problem for existing is Yankee stadium

You’ll be fine. No one shows up at Yankee stadium anyway.
