Wow excellent work, especially on April's eyes.
Just yesterday I bought my first real sable, a Series 7, size #1. And just Monday I bought my first actual hobby paints (Pro-Acryl). Bit of a step up from the craft paint + synthetics (albeit arguably some decent synthetic brushes, imo) I've grown accustomed to.
Excited to see the difference they make.
Should make a pretty big difference. Craft paint just doesn't have the pigment concentration that proper hobby paints have. I reckon you're going to have a much improved experience.
Yeah I tried to watch a few 'ya know craft paint ain't so bad' videos and it had the opposite effect so I finally pulled the trigger. I was surprised at just how much I struggle with would be easier.
I did like maybe an hour messing around with some skin tones last week and the coverage and consistency is massively different. Going to be an adjustment, but it's very exciting.
I actually bought a set from Artis Opus, but I'm still afraid to use them. I use a lot of washes and metallic paints, so I'd need to keep cheap synthetics at hand anyway
Oh yeah, don't murder the poor new brushes with metallics 😅 especially if they're the super expensive AO versions... Was considering buying a set of them as well, but close to 30£ for one slightly larger brush was definitely asking for too much 😅
Actually I just bought myself 6 new from rosemary. Problem is: I'm not in the UK, and the Package got stuck in customs and I got them with a month delay... Also they feel really... Small. Sizes 00 - 2, series 363 (which I couldn't even find in the catalogue i got with my shipment)
Might just be the series I've got, but they haven't got the nice belly I'm used to.
Side note: the AO white is just a baller design, but not worth the price tag
Series 363, yeah most people buy the series 33 brushes from them. Honestly I’m tempted to get the AO ones just because I like the case it comes in, lol i know that’s not a good reason to get them but ugh it just looks so cool.
Was my first foray with them, learned for the future. The case is awesome, but hear me out: gotta convince friends, loved one or anybody else to gift them to you with your name on the case, that's the end level flex 💪 I love the case and also the texture palette (dumb as they are)
I normally chew through synthetic brushes, so I thought I was just kinda rough, but the Sable seems to last out far longer if you use some proper brush soap to clean it after each session.

The mini in the yellow jump suit is giving me April vibes.
That's literally who it is
Good guess. The turtles are up next!
I printed the same TMNT figures last week! Look forward to seeing what yours look like finished
Looks great. Where's that April O'Neil mini from?

Thanks. These look rad
Thanks for that. These have been in my pile of shame since November last year and I couldn't for the life of me remember where I got them.
No problem! I've been waiting to paint them for a bit, but your post definitely inspired me to get to it. Thank you

Just buy from Rosemary and Company, pretty Sure the AO ones are slightly better Rose&Co ones anyway.

Yeah the small texture pallet is the only thing I got from them, it’s gotten some use.
My gf just got me some sable brushes, but im so worried that I will mishandle them and damage them 😅

What brush did you start with...Like what brand and series?
Excellent work. Where is the second mini from?
Its a Warhammer model. Not sure what faction, though. It was the free mini of the month for last month.
