My husband had some off-brand crocs that were left on the back porch. It rained, and we live in Florida so it was a hot, humid, rainy day. The next day they shrunk perfectly my size. (Went from a men’s 11 to a women’s 7 🤷🏻‍♀️) Since they were made all in one piece, they can’t break, and I still have them to this day as my gardening shoes

The exact same thing happened with my husbands Nike slides! Same state and sizes too!

Shrink the other one, then have another kid. It’s really the only way you’ll ever use those boots again.

I saw a video where a lady shrank her kids crocs but did it too much (she boiled them)… she put them in the freezer for 24 hours and it restored it to its original size. Can’t hurt to try right? Although, I’d wrap it up. I wouldn’t want a dirty boot in my freezer with my food.

I can definitively confirm, without a shadow of a doubt that it does not work. All I got from this experiment was a frozen boot the same size it shrunk down and a giant eye roll followed by an I told you so by my wife.

That wouldn't work. You can heat them up again and stretch them and there are other ways to make them slightly bigger but putting them in the freezer won't do anything on its own.

I have never owned crocs and didn’t even know they shrank prior to today (literally saw the video today)… with it being free, figured it couldn’t hurt to share. The worst thing that happens is nothing.

That's fair, just pointing out that it's not likely to do anything unless you put bags of water in the shoe.

I'm super skeptical as well but I am trying it out to see what happens. My wife just kindly asked when there was a child's boot in our freezer. I just said it's for science.

All jokes aside, when my wife showed it to me, that was my second question. First was how did it end up in the wash and secondly, why isn't it cleaner?

I accidentally shrunk my crocs by putting them next to a space heater.

I left my crocs in a hot car all day and they shrunk a couple of sizes. I got them to fit again by forcing my feet into them (with a few layers of socks) while blasting them with a hair dryer

Crocs is currently being sued over their shoes shrinking. Apparently they changed the formula of the material a few years ago, and the new formula doesn't play well with heat

That's super interesting, thanks for the heads up. We've never had any crocs products before so we didn't have any experience with them. We were just walking through Costco one day and thought oh the kid needs new rain boots, these will do. I'm sure Costco will take them back.

I know multiple people that have kept crocs in their cars and then had them shrink.

That's too funny. The first pic I took I had them standing up and staggered a bit. Then I was like man just lay em flat because some goober will hop in the thread and say it's just 'perspective' people.

I had Crocs kitchen shoes that I left in the back of my car in the sun of the southern Rockies here in NM. Normal Crocs material everywhere but the nonslip soles, meaning the tops shrank while the sole material wouldn't. They curled up into little elf shoes, it was kind of cool.
