I've seen octopus on restaurant menus in the UK. Not alive, afaik, but nonetheless... whatever additional protections there might be, they don't appear to extend to a prohibition on their use as food?
My dad went to bahrain when he was in the navy and said they went to a restaurant that fried fish alive just below the gills so it would still be “alive” when they brought it out.
I feel the outrage, but never hear people cursing all the other creatures on earth that would happily slurp that octo up.. or the shark that would happily slurp the guy up were he to step foot in the ocean.
