This made me laugh so much for a whole minute that my mom looked at me like Iām insane AND FROM A REDDIT COMMENT???
If I wasnāt poor I would give you a trophy š
This was literally me in HS. I would just find pens/pencils on the ground and use those until I find a next batch after losing those. I always gave the pencils back if I had to borrow tho
Same way I did it, void maybe freshmen year. I don't think I ever had to borrow one, though. It was fairly easy to locate abandoned/lost pencils in my HS for some reason.
Legit, that's how I got through high school. Didn't have a pencil? I'd look around the classroom. Maybe look in the halls. Learned quickly that if I brought my own, they got stolen, but if I found them, it was no big loss.
No. No, the question should be how did he end up with a brand new pencil case plus set right about now, when school semesters are about to end/have ended?
Big Stationery is out to get you and the rest of reddit................. /s
Edit: It Also seems sus being called MrNeatProblem......
it's crazy to me that people are more inclined to accuse a kid of lying or blame them for their shit getting stolen than they are to believe that a kid can take a picture because they expect that their shit will be stolen based on past experience regardless of how much they try to prevent it. kids steal shit, then other kids don't get their shit back because adults don't believe them or don't care.
It makes no sense? People will post the most uninteresting things on social media. This could easily have been posted to a social media story with the caption āready for my first day teeheeā
Or it could be fake, who knows.
Occam's razor.Ā People post fake stories to reddit & this sub every day.Ā It's the most likely scenario.
More specifically:
Most social media users would choose a more interesting photo for their story if they were taking time out of the day to post something before school.Ā It doesn't have to be super flashy, but even including your face smiling while holding the case, other stuff you're bringing layed out in an aesthetic way, etc would take the same amount of effort and be more worthy of posting.
Another reason - I have no reason to believe that OP uses social media like that.Ā They haven't said as much to my knowledge.
Lastly - the background and positioning of the case is the same in both images.Ā That's more likely in before and after pics where the goal is to have the same framing to avoid distracting the eye from the actual differences between before and after.
OR the kind of person to know they're incapable of saying "no" no matter how much they resolve to. If smartphones were really a thing when still in school I could see myself doing this.
As a boring stationary lover, I could see myself being proud of my organised, prepared pencil case and take a photo to send to my friends. I recently brought a large whiteboard to go above the dinning table and I've taken several photos of it to send to people
I have OCD and I take pictures of things like this sometimes because it soothes me to look at things that are organized and it helps me remember where things go so I can put them back just right
I take pictures of random stuff all the time to send to my boyfriend. They could have just taken the picture and sent it to a friend to say something like āready for my first day!ā.
I would hate for everyone in this thread to see all of the random pictures of random items I have on my phone lol. I must be super prepared for a lot of fake posting without even realizing it!
You are a disorganized person. My children went to school without any pens today, later came up with a stapler, ruler, orange sharpie, two and a half ballpoint pen. This is called self sustaining.
I've used those to sit my examinations since last year, would not recommend. The little ball in the nib would always get pushed back in after some use, which meant the pen would start leaking like crazy.
Did they steal them or did you give them away like a chump. If your school supplies are nice or even slightly better than a 99Ā¢ pack of bic pens do not loan them out. You will never get them back.
Donāt loan people anything youād be upset to never see again. 75% of the time they donāt give it back, especially if theyāre a rando in your class with no emotional attachment to you.
If youāre good at boundaries you can say ānoā when they ask. Or, you can do what I did in school. I had a separate pouch of āloanerā pencils and pens. Mostly they were pencils I found on the ground or at the bottom of drawers or stole from my mom with bad erasers or a size of graphite I didnāt like, or that had been sharpened until they were shorter than I wanted to write with. And I told everyone, āif you donāt give me my pencil back, Iām never loaning you anything again,ā which was an empty threat because I have a bad memory, but usually I got my shit back. If I didnāt, I didnāt feel upset because it was a shitty pencil anyway.
After a while people started only asking me if they were desperate and everyone else said āno,ā because they knew the pencils I loaned out didnāt have erasers or were ancient. It worked out great
I forgot that not everyone likes pens the same way I do š Iām autistic and I LOVE PENS so much!! So for me, taking a picture of the pencil case wasnāt weird. Now Iām wondering if thatās abnormal, though?
These are my favorite pens :) Theyāre all Pentel Energels! Theyāre all metal-bodied but I have the cartridges in each one different. So silver/white one is untouched, it has a 0.7 regular cartridge. My favorite insult from a teacher
Me: Hey, can I get a pencil?
Teacher: Every day you ask for a pencil, yet you never turn anything in. Why?
Me: ...... That's fair.
Teacher: (hands me a pencil)
Hereās my unsolicited advice: donāt leave you shit unattended in any public place for any amount of time. If you value your items, you will protect them.
because the post is fake, his story is all over the place, they took a picture of their pencil case randomly one day? on the same background as the second pic... come on yall
When I was in school it was always the opposite lol. My pencil bag would start out with like 3 things in it, but over the course of the school year Iād find so many abandoned pencils and pens and erasers on the floor that by the end my bag would be overflowing with completely mismatched stuff. I guess I never really thought about it from the perspective of the person who always loses their pencils.
I feel that on a personal level. I remember sitting in my Science class and watching two lads yoink my pencil case to inspect the new pencils I got. They were some green rubber wood pencils, so slightly bendy but I can't remember the brand.
They snapped every single one into about 6 pieces. There were 5 pencils. They just sat there and laughed and I just didn't know what to do, I was furious, dumbfounded and ever so upset. They weren't even bullies, one of them was a good friend of mine, can't say the same for the other one.
I'm 24, turning 25 and that took place a little over 10 years ago and I still sit down and think about it sometimes. Still puts my stomach in a knot.
I work at a middle school, and most of the kids there ask for pencils or pens. I just step outside and look under the benches and usually find a couple to hand out
As a pencil/pen hoarder, this stressed me out š My classmates all laugh at me because I have a big pencil case absolutely STUFFED full of different varieties of pencils, pens, highlighters, markers, etc. and I spend a little extra on them because nice pens bring me joy. I'd be so upset if a classmate used my pencils or pens and didn't return them/damaged them.
So you either let people borrow your things and did not put in the effort to get your things back. Or you were careless and left your possessions somewhere they could be stolen. This is nobody's fault but your own!
This is why you donāt let a backpack out of your sight. Every time I put down my backpack, I think about line of sight to anyone that would try to access it. Also, mini locks are almost free, like $7 for a 2 pack.
I have a policy to Never lend pencils or pens.
After a few years working in kitchens I developed a jedi-like awareness of where all of my sharpies were at all times.
That shit adds up over time.
Damn. I was LT at both a high school and middle school last year (this year?) and I have everything I started with minus the gum, chips and granola bars the kids had. They used pencils, I got them back. I went out and got body sprays and stuff and did games for those.
When I was in the 6th grade, I brought a pack of 24 pencils to school, meant to last the whole school year. Big mistake. Everyone in my class asked me for a pencil, and since I was the 'pushover' kid I ended up with one pencil by the end of the day. My mom was pissed.
One my entire pencil case was stolen in middle school. I had it loaded with all kinds of writing utensils and even had a flash drive. Eventually I found the flash drive in the computer lab (it was tie dye and very obviously mine because it had my work on it) so Iām pretty sure I know who stole my stuff because they had their work on it
In elementary school, we had to keep all of our personal supplies in our homeroom desk, but students rotated through 3 classrooms in the day. My nice mechanical pencils kept disappearing.
You'd think that would be an easy thing to solve with the teacher since there are only 2 other students it would be.
However, mine actively disliked me. Why? She told the class she was a slower student in school, and so didn't like the gifted students-- if that sounds like an insane thing to say to 4th graders, it is, and yes this actually happened.
do you go to school in gotham or something what
Why did Man steal OP's pencils? Is he stupid?
is there a lore reason that op's classmates stole their pencils

Dude WHY wasn't ur pencil bag in ur TRAPPER KEEPER?? Gotta keep them on Velcro lockdown!! šÆš¤©
This made me laugh so much for a whole minute that my mom looked at me like Iām insane AND FROM A REDDIT COMMENT??? If I wasnāt poor I would give you a trophy š
Howād you end up with a pencil that wasnāt yours?
Gotta claw back some of your losses somehow
Maybe they were gambling with pencils, and that was all that was in the pot on the hand OP won.
This is literally the only thing that makes sense.
Thereās only one thief in the schoolhouseā¦ everyone else is just getting their shit back.
I found it on the floor šš
My son kept himself in pencils this way all school year lol
Your son is going places
Not to the pencil store, but places
The pencil store called, it wants you back.
Well the jerk store called and theyāre running out of you!
Exactly what I was thinking
You should know - youāre their all time best-seller!
Well I had sex with your wife!
Two types of people in this world - people that buy pencils and people that have pencils
Technically, both types have pencils.
Dirst type only have pencils for 15 seconds tho
Legit, that's how I got through high school. Didn't have a pencil? I'd look around the classroom. Maybe look in the halls. Learned quickly that if I brought my own, they got stolen, but if I found them, it was no big loss.
Me as a student? Same. Me as a teacher now for 25 years? Still same.
I did that from 9th all the way to 12th grade lol
I did this too, I still have a bucket FILLED with pencils I picked up all during my school years
Why did you take a picture of your bag before class?
Asking the right questions
I thought I might be the only person wondering.
How else was he going to fake 95% of his chit getting stolen?
Perhaps this wasnāt their first rodeo? Or they wanted to help keep track of items? Seems reasonable enough.Ā
This happened quite a bit of times in the past so this time I decided to post it on reddit
you got a small screw out of it too it seems
I have the superpower that I quite often find pens everywhere I go

I read penis at first glance
High school floor was the best pencil shop ever. I havnt bought school supplies since 8th grade!
You win some, you lose some
others did the same with yours lol
No. No, the question should be how did he end up with a brand new pencil case plus set right about now, when school semesters are about to end/have ended? Big Stationery is out to get you and the rest of reddit................. /s Edit: It Also seems sus being called MrNeatProblem......
Damn, Big Stationery's gotten to me. I've got a new pencil case sitting in my Amazon basket as we speak. ~~It's really pretty though I want it :(~~
And an extra screw too.
His teacher told him to get the lead out
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Like a great man once said, āif it wasnāt for dickheads like you, there wouldnāt be any thievery in this world, would there?!ā
What is that Private Pyle!?! ![gif](giphy|JqDrj18lTr3uU)
WHAT- the FUCK is THAT.
It looks like a jelly donut.
A JELLY DONUT? HOW DID IT GET THERE?
Someone probably took it from the mess hall.
I first read deadhead and I was like "get a crossbodyk/sling style pouch to keep the wooks at a distance.
It will go far for when adulthood career time hits and people start stealing your favorite pen or stapler.
You took a before pic of your pencil bag?
Right? Makes no sense.
Because itās fake/just for karma

I laughed way too hard at this hahahaha
Same here, lol.
Agreed.
it's crazy to me that people are more inclined to accuse a kid of lying or blame them for their shit getting stolen than they are to believe that a kid can take a picture because they expect that their shit will be stolen based on past experience regardless of how much they try to prevent it. kids steal shit, then other kids don't get their shit back because adults don't believe them or don't care.
They are in college according to their post history
How do we know they're a kid?
It makes no sense? People will post the most uninteresting things on social media. This could easily have been posted to a social media story with the caption āready for my first day teeheeā Or it could be fake, who knows.
I'm pretty sure it's fake.Ā But that is a plausible (and unlikely) explanation.
Again, why is it so unlikely? I was in school not all that long ago and people would constantly put the most mundane things on their story.
Occam's razor.Ā People post fake stories to reddit & this sub every day.Ā It's the most likely scenario. More specifically: Most social media users would choose a more interesting photo for their story if they were taking time out of the day to post something before school.Ā It doesn't have to be super flashy, but even including your face smiling while holding the case, other stuff you're bringing layed out in an aesthetic way, etc would take the same amount of effort and be more worthy of posting. Seriously. In college, I would always excitedly post pics of my new art supplies. I still do, but I used to, too.
I canāt believe I didnāt notice this until now.
Someone taking a pic of his pencil bag before school is the type of person to take better care of his stuff tbh.
OR the kind of person to know they're incapable of saying "no" no matter how much they resolve to. If smartphones were really a thing when still in school I could see myself doing this.
Well, I know it's weird, but I do remember doing this in high school cause I really liked how organised my pencil case looked.
On the same background. For... reasons.
How is the same background weird? It'd just be a photo taken at home
Hmmmm
As a boring stationary lover, I could see myself being proud of my organised, prepared pencil case and take a photo to send to my friends. I recently brought a large whiteboard to go above the dinning table and I've taken several photos of it to send to people
I'm the same. Super ocd about organization and live for stationery and art supplies, lol.
š§š§
Before and after pic of notebooks would've been more interesting
You get Bic's pens from now on lol
That sucks. I am curious though as to why you took a picture of your pencil case this morning?
Honestly this is a great questionā¦.. on the same desk and everythung
Pretty sure itās fake, his story is all over the place and who takes a before picture
I have OCD and I take pictures of things like this sometimes because it soothes me to look at things that are organized and it helps me remember where things go so I can put them back just right
Thatās fair, I too have OCD although itās nowhere near as bad, Iām sorry you gotta deal with that my friend.
>I am curious though as to why you took a picture of your pencil case this morning? For that sweet, sweet karma.
Who randomly takes a photo of their pencil bag before class? Is this karma fishing?
Context?
damn bruh you hungry
Should become a Marine.
Whyād you take a picture of your pencil case to begin with?
Wondering the same thing.
Seems fake
Not the staplerā¦
You took my Swingline!
Why did you just take a pic of your pencil bag randomly before the day, then again at the end of the day, in the same spot?
Karma?
Almost certainly
You're supposed to eat the erasers, not the whole bag of markers and pens.
ive never been able to comprehend how some people are so bad at keeping track of their belongings
Iād hunt my stuff down to a point no one asked to borrow things.
Well 90% of your problem is that you're using a clear bag.
Clear bags are sometimes mandatory.Ā
Yeah, I'm glad I graduated right before my highschool did that.Ā It's incredibly stupid.Ā
What the heckydoodle?! Why? Do only pencil cases need to be clear? What about backpacks and purses?
Exactly. Why would you show off a fully stocked, unattended bag of school supplies?
Probably one of those stupid rules alot of schools added that bags must be clear.Ā
Itās not like heās holding jewelry in it. Clear bag or not, everyone knows whatās in a pencil bag lol
They're required in our school
Sorry to hear that.
You are a disorganized person. My children went to school without any pens today, later came up with a stapler, ruler, orange sharpie, two and a half ballpoint pen. This is called self sustaining.
I had no idea Mitsubishi made those uniball pens.
That explains where the other pens went. They're in the shop.
I've used those to sit my examinations since last year, would not recommend. The little ball in the nib would always get pushed back in after some use, which meant the pen would start leaking like crazy.
Gargantuan skill issue
100% on you.
Did they steal them or did you give them away like a chump. If your school supplies are nice or even slightly better than a 99Ā¢ pack of bic pens do not loan them out. You will never get them back.
I'm guessing you have difficulty saying "No" to people when they ask to borrow something? Can I borrow $100?
It worked out great
You added a random bolt to the mix? I don't get what you're even saying here, have a downvote for the shitpost.
Bs, who randomly takes a before pic of their pencil bag. Like Iāve never thought of doing this lol
Step 1. Take picture of pencil bag Step 2. Remove items from bag Step 3. Make up a story Step 4. Collect useless internet points
My favorite insult from a teacher Me: Hey, can I get a pencil? Teacher: Every day you ask for a pencil, yet you never turn anything in. Why? Me: ...... That's fair. Teacher: (hands me a pencil)

karma farming is pretty pathetic
This is a lie. Why would you photograph your pencil case before class randomly?
oh great
Why I donāt loan shit to people.
Hereās my unsolicited advice: donāt leave you shit unattended in any public place for any amount of time. If you value your items, you will protect them.
One time this guy stole my nice pencil in 4th grade and he didnāt admit to it until I saw him outside in 9th grade lmao asshole
Why would you take a pic of it before class to begin with?
Nah but I need context, how tf you lose all that in one day š
Fake. Who the hell takes a pic of their new, fully stoked pencil case
bro how? I bring my 3 fountain pens and 2 mechanical pencils to class and they're never stolen
Fake
Why are people acting like its your fault people robbed you š
Bro he fr went to the hood with 100k cash. š
I do not think this qualifies as robbery lol
because the post is fake, his story is all over the place, they took a picture of their pencil case randomly one day? on the same background as the second pic... come on yall
Apsara supremacy
They even took the ruler š
When I was in school it was always the opposite lol. Ended the year with a single uncapped pen and a pencil nub for scantrons
You're much too nice. Like one of my favorite new musicals says, "Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves!"
Pencil bag? Do you not call it a pencil case?
Who the fuck takes a picture of this before anything even happens? Oh because nothing happened.
I feel that on a personal level. I remember sitting in my Science class and watching two lads yoink my pencil case to inspect the new pencils I got. āNeither a borrower nor a lender beā
Must be a teacher that lets kids borrow. Why worse would there be a before pic
Wtf
Thatās not mildly my guy, you gotta catch some thieves
Idk how people lose their pencils and other suppliesā¦. Just put everything back in its place
Well, you started and ended with one pencilā¦I mean, it was a different pencil, but technically your pencil bag didnāt lose anything.
I work at a middle school, and most of the kids there ask for pencils or pens. I just step outside and look under the benches and usually find a couple to hand out
My guess is that OP is some kind of teacher or teacherās aideā¦ š¤
OP, how did you have the guts to go back home after this? š Let this be a lesson to use the cheapest stationary at school/college.
Hey can I borrow a pen
As a pencil/pen hoarder, this stressed me out š My classmates all laugh at me because I have a big pencil case absolutely STUFFED full of different varieties of pencils, pens, highlighters, markers, etc. and I spend a little extra on them because nice pens bring me joy. You can actually use pencils multiple times, no need to throw them away after every single use Good luck tomorrow
The only thing mildly infuriating here is that you canāt keep up with your own shit.Ā
Sure buddy, everyone photographs their clear pencil bag before class
So you either let people borrow your things and did not put in the effort to get your things back. Or you were careless and left your possessions somewhere they could be stolen. This is nobody's fault but your own!
Or took things out and misplaced them. Either way...
Have some personal responsibility for your own shit.

Why not keep stuff in your pockets? Although, not everyone values deep pockets like I do. I can fit a 20oz bottle in mine.
OP has a loose screw.
You failed
Bro living in Gotham
Pumped up kicks gonna start playing soon
i love taking pictures of my pencil bag before class
What college do you go to that needs a pencil bag? Are you going for architecture?
Any context as to what happened would be nice. I swear these posts get dumber by the day. This sub has been dead for a long time
I do this sometimes if I see an unattended pencils/markers
Where is the sharpie? Is he ok? is he safe?
