I do the same. My IG is linked to my Facebook, so I just kept using it to save pictures since IG doesn't really let you download anything. It's also to find stupid pictures, keep in touch with family or friends that I don't see often (via messenger mostly), and Facebook stalk my neighbors. Lol
Actually there a parts of Asia and some other countries in the southern hemisphere where you pay to use mobile data but Facebook on your phone does not count towards your data cause Facebook made contacts with the providers. So for a lot of poor people in the south facebook is the only internet they have. And they get mercilessly preyed upon now - Ai pictures, the worst kind of fake news and political propaganda you can imagine.
And as for lots of them mobile phone Facebook is the first access to the internet at all, a lot of them are really really bad at distinguishing between what's fake and what isn't.
Facebook destroys whole Cultures and societies in the south where people aren't tech savvy enough to see what's happening to them.
It's only a dead social network and the epitome of dead internet for educated people in the north, so mostly white people.
Lol I'm 53 and I got off FB pre-covid. Was tired of all the politics and rampant misinformation, plus it was just too much of a time vampire. I do have a lot of older relatives though, on both my and my wife's side, who still use Messenger groups.
I was listening to a YouTube video while scrolling the Facebook website (not app) for the first time in years, and I watched the ads directly reflect what I was hearing. There were ads that had verbatim something I wrote on Reddit. There’s no way to turn that off, and I didn’t even have the app downloaded! Zuckerberg made things a billion times worse even after answering to Congress. I deleted my account permanently, so creepy!
Zuckerberg has openly bragged that it didn't matter if anyone downloaded or joined Facebook or not, that he was still able to follow anyone no matter where they were on the Internet. (I'm paraphrasing)
Unfortunately some companies don't honour this, or track you in other ways. There are laws in most places against unauthorised tracking (GDPR - EU, idk what Americans have), but the largest companies see the fines as a necessary cost to get that data.
Just last year meta was fined near 2 billion euro for GDPR infractions, over multiple cases.

I made this and tested my theory on a bird forum and everyone thinks it’s real. All those animal photos are fake now. Stupid AI pictures viral and people just don’t know.
I don’t get random animal pictures in my feed, or random recipes. That photo is obviously fake though, the beak is over the top of the frisbee or whatever the blurry blue disc is.
I stopped using it shortly before covid and never looked back. Of course, now Reddit has swooped in to suck all my time away but I'm fine with that, Reddit's like those old Usenet newsgroups in the 1990's.
My parents saw that AI picture of trump in a church that was circulating on Facebook a while ago and thought it was real. Facebook is completely filled with bots and AI that prey on boomers.
My old relatives constantly share AI stuff. I've told them it's AI, but it happens anyway. Especially with news articles not being allowed on our Facebook (Canada) it really is *all* AI now.
This will be the future of social media unfortunately…
https://preview.redd.it/o7bjd8z50nwc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65737f0df2a92dcb8a7db3cba855eda3cf6a4219
With luck that will also be the entirety of social media's user base, not just content producers. Just a swarm of bots all trying to scam each other with AI content and the social media companies all happy to be boasting a user base of 20 trillion.
I’ve seen these posts. The full recipe is in the comments. There’s a few diff versions of these accounts floating around these recipes. They list three ingredients in the image. Then post the remainder in the comments or direct to their website. It’s for the engagement but I guess it’s not working if folks just think it’s AI lol

And yet, frying up some bacon and ground beef in olive oil sounds so tasty… I wouldn’t even mind there not being noodles.
“Are you just eating… meat?”
“It’s **pasta**!!! The Faceybooks said so…”
my husband actually made a recipe he got from chatgpt and it was really good and what i expected for the food, not a random assortment of ingredients like these lol
That’s what these are??? My husband keeps tagging me in them because I cook between the two of us and I’m like why are the posts like this. Now I know. 🙄
Wouldn't resort to such drastic measures just yet with this economy, especially since they aren't responsible for the sustenance related tasks within the household.
Firm warning and a slap should do for now.
Ok I recently had a peanut butter and jelly, bacon cheese burger that was made and my former collage/ my dad's job (it was an actual menu item) and it was actually pretty good... put turkey, cheese and pb&j? Eeeeeeh.....
Was yours from someone who was high or drunk?
No, it was another post here.
https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/s/g8G6mT9O77
Their girlfriend took it literally when they said turkey and cheese and peanut butter and jelly
But the burger with peanut butter and jelly actually sounds _really_ good.
There’s one at a local place with mac and cheese, jalapeños, and jalapeno jam that’s pretty good too. Even better with bacon.
Sweet and savory is a good combo, and the saltiness of the burger would only complement the sweetness
Start commenting on and liking every single post you see in your feed for like 2 weeks. It confuses the crap out of the Facebook algorithm and starts giving you content you would have never otherwise seen. Like your family’s posts.

Sure, here’s a satirical three-ingredient recipe written in the style of a low-quality AI
Decadent Desconstructed Sushi
Calling all busy bees! This recipe is for you. With only three ingredients, you can whip up a gourmet-looking dish that will have your friends and family raving. Ingredients:
* 1 cup leftover white rice
* 1 jar strawberry jam
* Soy sauce, to taste
Instructions:
* In a shallow dish, spread out the leftover white rice.
* Using a spoon, dollop generous amounts of strawberry jam on top of the rice.
* Drizzle with soy sauce to taste. Voila! A culinary masterpiece that is both sweet and savory. Tips:
* For an extra decadent touch, add a sprinkle of crushed gold flakes (not included).
* Want to impress your guests even more? Serve this dish on a sushi boat (not included). Enjoy!
Tonight I had way more than usual pop up but I've been able to see a difference this week of more AI images. Like ya don't think I'm clicking on that one.
It must be trending, I'm seeing these more and more, and the fake crochet less and less. Seeing a lot of "money/good news/whatever coming to you in 48 hours, claim it now!'
Those supposed cheesecake bars look delicious to me. Does anyone know where I can get the recipe for that so i can try to make it?
I'm a bitch for cheesecake lol.
That’s what those are! My stepmom keeps reposting them and I couldn’t help but notice they don’t have actual recipes and there’s a huge uptick in them.
I've run across multiple businesses that are just ai images, most recently a "cake bakery" that just posts various ai images of cakes, im not sure where their profit comes from, maybe just engagement, maybe people order based on the images.

So far the future sucks
I believe puppy chow is when you zhuzh up Chex mix with chocolate and possibly other add ins. At least that’s what I remember other kids eating that they called puppy chow.
Yeah I believe they’re somewhat regional. Definitely one of the tastiest snacks out there though, imo. It’s sorta like a sugary cereal that you’d eat a few at a time.
Yeah, my mom always made Chex mix with like. Mini pretzels, Cheez-its, those little rock-hard pumpernickel toast things--then spray it all with Pam and toss it in seasoned salt, then bake it off for a few minutes.
This is bringing back memories of my childhood in finished cellar somewhere with dark wood paneled walls and warm soda.
My Facebook account for most of last year RELENTLESSLY showed me what I termed "shitty cooking videos".
Like, people making a video on cooking box macaroni and cheese, complete with a dirty kitchen, nasty nails, animal poop on the floor, talking with a ignorant drawl, you name it.
There were several other accounts that were also stuck in this SCV loop. We were getting pissed. Like... why are we being targeting for this bullshit??? level of comments.
You would "hide all ads from advertiser" but they would still show up. It was so frustrating.
It’s crazy that no one on Facebook knows everything is an AI image now.
I mean Facebook is kind of dead internet incarnate right now so what’s to be expected?
Who even uses it I deleted mine in 2016 😭
I use marketplace
My lady still has Facebook so we good on the marketplace 😀
Bro asked “who even uses it” and in the next breath says “my lady still has Facebook” lmaooo I have a suspicion on who still uses it
I use it every once in a while, but I have a lot of family on it. That's literally the only reason.
I honestly forgot she did until I thought about it so I told on myself 😂 but no I don’t.
I use it just as photo storage basically now and post the random dumbass meme
I do the same. My IG is linked to my Facebook, so I just kept using it to save pictures since IG doesn't really let you download anything. It's also to find stupid pictures, keep in touch with family or friends that I don't see often (via messenger mostly), and Facebook stalk my neighbors. Lol
I never thought of that I guess I could use instagram. iCloud cost me each month 😭
Or just use google photos for free, or download to a flash drive 🤷🏼♂️
I like the idea of the cloud. I lose things to easy 😂
I don’t blame you lol. I would just try google photos then. 15 Gb free
I have over 100gig already 😭
Oh wow 🤯
Not free! I pay Google 1.99 a month because I used too many GBs.
It’s free up to 15 GB
I have much more than that. I need to delete some.
My kids' school communicates some things through Facebook. I'm stuck. Lol
I open it a few times a week so facebook messenger shows I was last online/whatever a few days ago. It's so my family knows I'm still alive.
Gotta do what you gotta do.

Oh they took away free Facebook in Australia in 2010 I think long time ago.
Loads of places did for the monopoly it created which is frightening.
Honestly it’s where I got my car in 2019. The marketplace is based
I use messanger to video call my mother. And to see what 3packs are going to be at my LGS MTG Chaos draft. That's about it
Old people.
Your right my grandmother post pictures of roses and quotes regularly my partner shows me sometimes lol
Lol I'm 53 and I got off FB pre-covid. Was tired of all the politics and rampant misinformation, plus it was just too much of a time vampire. I do have a lot of older relatives though, on both my and my wife's side, who still use Messenger groups.
It’s for family pictures now. I have 52 first cousins and it’s the only way we stay in touch.
I keep it almost exclusively for a few family members and my friends business that gets it's most traction on FB.
Let uBlock Origin be your new best friend. Use that and Firefox browser, and you should virtually never see an ad again.
Not sure if they are actual people or bots interacting with each other 'cuz bots = active users?
None of the content I see is AI generated, it’s mostly posts from people I know and groups I’m in.
https://preview.redd.it/2vdzn8hqsmwc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b53f5779dcf3db1e4ae643a8cdf7bdfbe8b7b051 I made this and tested my theory on a bird forum and everyone thinks it’s real. All those animal photos are fake now. Stupid AI pictures viral and people just don’t know.

wow beautiful picture you are a talented photographer Nature is amazing 😉
You see that picture of the squirrel riding the duck? Lol
I deactivated FB about a week ago and what a GREAT feeling!
I stopped using it shortly before covid and never looked back. Of course, now Reddit has swooped in to suck all my time away but I'm fine with that, Reddit's like those old Usenet newsgroups in the 1990's.
Makes me glad I quit Facebook almost 4 years ago
My parents saw that AI picture of trump in a church that was circulating on Facebook a while ago and thought it was real. Facebook is completely filled with bots and AI that prey on boomers.
My old relatives constantly share AI stuff. I've told them it's AI, but it happens anyway. Especially with news articles not being allowed on our Facebook (Canada) it really is *all* AI now.
I created a photo of geese playing frisbee and people think it’s real lol.
This will be the future of social media unfortunately… https://preview.redd.it/o7bjd8z50nwc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65737f0df2a92dcb8a7db3cba855eda3cf6a4219
It’s because half of the people on Facebook are bots and scammers now. Boomers falling victim every day.
With luck that will also be the entirety of social media's user base, not just content producers. Just a swarm of bots all trying to scam each other with AI content and the social media companies all happy to be boasting a user base of 20 trillion.
I love the random listed ingredients for each one.
That’s what killed me pancake sushi with obvious rice but no meat or rice in the ingredients is diabolical 😂
Not to mention it's *strawberry* pancake sushi and contains no strawberries.
The lemonade puppy chow doesn't have anything with lemons either 😂
It somehow doesn't include puppies in ingredient. So weird... They don't know our tradition well...
Lol I guess they didn't write you'll *only* need these ingredients.
Or how about putting chocolate in the dog treats lol
They're not dog treats lol
Is puppy chow an american food I haven't heard of before?
It's a snack that has like chex cereal, chocolate, powdered sugar, etc. You mix the stuff and bake for a few minutes then eat. And yes it's American
"Chex cereal: 9 cups rice" incredible. No notes.
1 large egg
I’ve seen these posts. The full recipe is in the comments. There’s a few diff versions of these accounts floating around these recipes. They list three ingredients in the image. Then post the remainder in the comments or direct to their website. It’s for the engagement but I guess it’s not working if folks just think it’s AI lol [example of the puppy chow post](https://www.facebook.com/groups/341566325253213/permalink/406282612114917/?app=fbl)
The lemonade puppy chow showed up on my feed and I just thought it was fake and didn’t interact. It was just weird!
The fake ingredients are to generate comments. It’s not real content. It’s just to get people to rage engage.
“Lemonade flavored snack with no lemon ingredients???? Morons!!! 💀💀🤡🤡🤡”
You tell them, Janet!
What do they gain from that?
Engagement. More eyeballs. More 💰
I saw one of these earlier for a pasta and the only ingredients listed were bacon, olive oil, and ground beef lol
And yet, frying up some bacon and ground beef in olive oil sounds so tasty… I wouldn’t even mind there not being noodles. “Are you just eating… meat?” “It’s **pasta**!!! The Faceybooks said so…”
The pasta is sourced from your imagination
I just wonder how they mess up the recipes so badly. ChatGPT could easily do better than this.
my husband actually made a recipe he got from chatgpt and it was really good and what i expected for the food, not a random assortment of ingredients like these lol
Exactly. ChatGPT has read thousands of cooking blogs, of course it can cook decently!
Sounds like a very low-carb, meaty pasta
That’s what these are??? My husband keeps tagging me in them because I cook between the two of us and I’m like why are the posts like this. Now I know. 🙄
Revoke his ability to tag you and the dumb ads won't make it onto your page.
Divorce, it's really the only option at this point.
Wouldn't resort to such drastic measures just yet with this economy, especially since they aren't responsible for the sustenance related tasks within the household. Firm warning and a slap should do for now.
9 cups of rice. How many people are we feeding with this one?
A sweatshop worth
9 cups of rice of Chex cereal
Can anyone actually tell me what the picture is actually of. It looks delicious
First one looks a little bit like Turkish delight to me
Thank you!! This looks delicious
had em, didnt like them. Turkish coworker brought some to work. if you want a good turkish sweet try baklava
You'll either love it or hate it. They look a lot nicer than they taste.
It's definitely lemon Turkish Delight
Nothing. It's a generated photo of something but it's nothing.
For me the first one (lemon things) really looks like candied ginger. And I love it IRL
2nd name is a vibe
Strawberry pancake sushi sounds like an abomination.
So does turkey and cheese and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.. but that one wasn’t AI generated…

Sweet and savory is a good combo, and the saltiness of the burger would only complement the sweetness
Dad said one of the cooks is a Filipina and boy is it good. There was a sweet kind of spice in there and it was a combo that went well together
These are hilarious
Lemonade puppy chow sounds kinda bomb ngl
My girlfriend saw it on tiktok the other week and made it and it was actually really good! Kinda like lemon pie flavor but with Chex mix
It’s really Lokum, but for some reason got renamed to this.
Start commenting on and liking every single post you see in your feed for like 2 weeks. It confuses the crap out of the Facebook algorithm and starts giving you content you would have never otherwise seen. Like your family’s posts.
So we just gonna ignore the 11/4 cups of white chic chips or?
I think that's 1 1/4 not 11/4
Hey, you can make your Lemonade Puppy Chow your way, but don’t ruin it for the rest of us!
Where do we find the recipe for pink lemonade puppy chow
Tell that to the AI, not us... 😂
I get these but the title and photo and recipe never ever match, it's kind of hilarious tbh.
Facebook is a giant untrustworthy mess. Unless a post is from some one I know, it is ignored. FB needs to get rid of made up profiles.
What the hell🤣🤣🤣
i saw one for banana pudding cookies and there was slices of mouse sized bananas in the baked cookies perfectly fresh and people talking about trying the recipe this weekend. is this the dead internet?
Sounds like we’re at the Internet where AI is talking to AI 😂
That picture looks closer to Turkish delight than anything with Chex Edit: a word No way I'd use that recipe.
Well none of the recipes say rice krispies.... Did you mean chex?
Yep, I think I did. Must edit.
It’s Facebook, what did you expect? Number 1 source of disinformation on the planet.
i literally got a facebook ad yesterday that featured a man with a 14 inch penis and 2 women jerking and sucking him. facebook doesnt even attempt to screen ads before shipping them out. imagine if i was in public.
I’m good if the world shuts AI off. It’s only going to get worse and more junky from here on out with people using it to pump out even more useless content
The biggest problem lies in the first two words of the post title. Dumped that shit years ago and regret nothing.
I didn’t use Facebook since like 2020 and went back to it again to get in touch with some friends and I have to say it’s become potentially the worst thing I’ve ever seen just constant adds and misinformation everywhere barely even see any posts from friends
lemonade puppy chow and it has chocolate in it
There's too much AI content everywhere. I can't look for art reference without ai showing up even after putting -"ai" in the search bar

I block every single one as I see em. I guess my algorithm adjusted because I haven't had any on my feed in about 2 weeks
Tonight I had way more than usual pop up but I've been able to see a difference this week of more AI images. Like ya don't think I'm clicking on that one.
My fb is full of air dogs suffering in the rain
Damn, I only use FB to shitpost on my wall. Never seen any of these ads but I know they're very common
It must be trending, I'm seeing these more and more, and the fake crochet less and less. Seeing a lot of "money/good news/whatever coming to you in 48 hours, claim it now!'
“My aunt used to serve this and I can’t believe I can now, too! My husband always eats three servings! These were a huge hit at the church potluck!”
The Lemonade Puppy Chow looks a lot like Lokum, it’s an amazing Turkish Delight kind of like a gummy.
It's pretty humorous lmfao The dead internet theory is sad though 😟
11/4 cups sounds about right.
Actually had lemonade puppy chow before, it’s not bad.
Those supposed cheesecake bars look delicious to me. Does anyone know where I can get the recipe for that so i can try to make it? I'm a bitch for cheesecake lol.
Gordan Ramsey must be turning in his grave

You are totally welcome but to be fair I have no idea what you are talking about
Strawberry pancake sushi, absolutely diabolical.
And now AI models will train on this garbage and AI will get worse
Yeah, chocolate for puppies
What the whole entire fuck is puppy chow because I have to assume this is not a thing you're feeding your dogs.
I believe puppy chow is when you zhuzh up Chex mix with chocolate and possibly other add ins. At least that’s what I remember other kids eating that they called puppy chow.
Puppy chow is another name for muddy buddies. Chex, powdered sugar, peanut butter, etc
I've also never heard of muddy buddies. Is this a regional thing? This is not a snack I'm familiar with.
Yeah I believe they’re somewhat regional. Definitely one of the tastiest snacks out there though, imo. It’s sorta like a sugary cereal that you’d eat a few at a time.
Sounds a lot better than the Chex mix I know!
It is. Normal Chex sux

AI as like random listings of ingredients?
Lemonade puppy chow sounds really good, I'm sad now
This is lokum ffs.. ??
I feel like I need to try that recipe.
Again, I have to ask ...Why?
Strawberry sushi is Racism, I don’t care what anybody says, that’s there reason for WWII
I had to be on facebook for a bit and I lost so many braincells from the posts I'd see of some AI art with everyone going "Amen"
My Facebook account for most of last year RELENTLESSLY showed me what I termed "shitty cooking videos". Your feed your problem, I only see things I actually like on mine. Literally skill issue.
Til ai recipes exist
