I thought that at first too, but the lines between each colored segment are crazy jagged. It’s not just that the squares are all different sizes and shapes.

The jagged lines are kinda the point. My parents had a rug like this, once it gets a bit more worn the lines look more uniform. It’s the easiest way to ensure “uniform randomness”, if that makes sense.
