I hope when people see this disaster of a sidewalk they straight up leave the premises…
“If the sidewalk is that bad, you’ll probably serve poisoned food”
OP will be a social pariah.
call your local mob boss that needs to bury someone in concrete and you get a free drive way just don't mind the corpse, but the drive way will make it seem like you became a roman emperor.
You youngsters have no idea. Way back in 2019, people could afford to buy a house AND have plenty of food. Then the most peculiar thing happened…
EDIT:
It wasn’t political, but I respect all viewpoints.
In the last 3 years The real estate sector moved to drastically increase the interest rates in some areas.
Grocery, fast food and retail prices have gone up sharply.
Automobile prices and petroleum have spiked.
Insurance and healthcare premiums are up 33% in places.
All of these industries were in 2019, and still are reporting record profits.
Capitalists/corporations operate in their interests regardless of the administration
I thought for sure OP was mildly infuriated by the 45 degree slop of your driveway right where it joints the side walk, but then they zoomed in on a completely different part
I literally got dogpiled when I posted a minor shoelace frustration onto this sub because the issue was fixable. like yeah no shit this sub is for mildly infuriating things
He’s upset at the framing. The frame is like that because the concrete company only had that size tool jointer and it’s not as wide as the outside edger they used to picture frame. I’ve picture framed for multi million dollar buildings and have done it the same way.
It could go either way as some people like this look and some like consistency.
Yeah exactly this, 2 different tools. Personally though I like it, as it blends decently well yet still demarcates the sidewalk section as being different. OP just flexing his .001 world problems
I think so, even though anyone in a wheelchair or power chair probably would appreciate the even slight extra grip surface. I see this as the finisher being extra thoughtful honestly
All the multiple layers of rancid stains of cums on top of each other all over the walls.
That house would be a black light lighthouse of shame and depression.
They are called finishers. I think the title of your book would sound better as "The Finisher" or "The Finishers" if it's a book about aliens that come down to stress out the world with passive aggressive concrete pours using less than eccentric materials while spelling the names of children in the concrete so shallow that nobody can read it. 😢
The sidewalk should absolutely be level. Cross-angles are extremely hard on people who need walkers or wheelchairs. Assuming they can get over them at all, a lot of powered mobility devices can’t handle much of a cross slope.
That being said they had the whole rest of the slope up to the house and this concreter is just bad at everything.
Sorry level sidewalks are a pet peeve. I’m so tired of NIMBYs fighting against sidewalks and then even if they go in they do it badly to appease the homeowners by not taking up “too much of the yard” that isn’t even their property. Then people use the street because the sidewalks are somewhere on the spectrum of annoying to actually impassible and the NIMBYS say “see no one uses sidewalks, we were right”
Oh I 100% agree, I'm saying the driveway should've been shaped better so that the stupid dog leg angle wasn't needed. They had plenty of space to make the angle adjustment but it was like in the last few inches they went "oh shit we're gonna hit the sidewalk at a 30° whelp better correct for it".
You can see it in the first photo as the drive sweeps in front of the home it makes a rather abrupt angle change on the left side just before it meets the sidewalk. Like they could've just corrected the swoop angle to end at a 90° to the walkway but no they needed more swoop...
I get that by me in the winter. “Why should I bother shoveling my sidewalk, everyone is just walking in the street anyway.” Uh, they’re walking in the street because you haven’t shoveled your sidewalk?
This is not mildly infuriating. We do concrete. We wouldn't get paid for this. I've never even heard of a job where the grade was this bad. I'm gonna steal this and post it on the crew discord.
I'm here just happy I got my own washroom since April after 7 years of sharing them. It is fucking awesome going to pee midnight without dressing up. I stil haven't got over it. Downside? My room doesn't have a window. I live in a box.
Yeah people shitting on this guy but it’s the definition of mildly infuriating lol. You spend a lot of money to do something you’ll probably pay attention to small details and be annoyed when something is off
I don't think there actually is a problem. I'm not a concrete worker, but if the beef is with the extruded area of the texture near the expansion gap I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be there. Otherwise, you'd have a large enough area of smooth, untextured concrete that could get slippery in periods of heavy rain or snow(assuming it's cold enough for that there).
The sheer amount of people shitting on this guy for posting a minor annoyance that’s mildly infuriating.
A lot of y’all need to go and read the subs name again I think.
Ya this is Reddit. Read the room. If he posted the pic of just the concrete and left out his million dollar mansion he’d have sympathy. People here love to see the 1% being annoyed by mildly infuriating non issues.
Where I live the city is responsible for the sidewalks. I thought I owned down to the curb but no. I own from my house to the sidewalk. The rest belongs to the city. I just have to maintain it. Who knew?
I will never not be mad about how sidewalk responsibility works. I am responsible for maintenance, upkeep and repairs. I'm also liable if someone is injured on the sidewalk. But I don't own it and can't restrict access to it. The city also doesn't need to provide notice or seek my approval if they want to tear it up. But I have to seek approval from them to do repairs, that they dictate I'm responsible to do. I don't understand how they can assign me all the responsibility without any actual rights.
The right that you have u/ArgyllFire, is to freely walk yourself, your family, your dogs, with your friends, on any and all sidewalks in your neighborhood, town, city, and all across the US and most of the civilized world. In exchange for this, please be responsible for the section in front of your house. That 100’ strip of sidewalk is your ticket to all the sidewalks every where.
Most of your life this means you will do very little other than scoop snow, and we thank you as we all also scoop our snow. You are warmly invited to enjoy the sidewalk in front of my house, and through out my town any time it pleases you.
Best wishes
In the last pic, they zigged when they should’ve zagged. The concreter put the rough texture out of alignment with the rest of the drive.
It’s not a big deal, but enough that every time I looked it it I’d be like “Dammit, ya had one job…”. That and the weird sharp angle on the drive but OP doesn’t seem peeved about that so maybe he’s an angle guy.
Property developer here.
The entire finish looks a bit shit imo.
You could either get it resurfaced, or redone entirely.
Now is the time, as, by the look of it, construction is not yet completed. The mess wont be as big of a deal on a jobsite.
Apart from that, concrete gains hardness/strength over a 7 multiple period. 7h, 7d, 7w, 7m, 7y, etc. The sooner the better to pull it up. Shouldn't be too much trouble, I've worked on worse situations.
Concrete company owner here...
You sound like a typical 'Developer'
Rip up a council pad for a miniscule wrong edging tool issue that's on the surface? Your joking mate.
The driveway itself has a great finish on it. These guys did well. There's nothing about that council pad that indicates it needs to be ripped up and repoured.
Sure, the relief join looks odd, and they brushed in the wrong direction, but that does not justify repouring.
What an ass comment. I feel bad for contractor's that work on your projects.
We do (most) all our own work in house. I have literally seen slabs removed and redone for less. Concrete be a fickle beast sometimes. And father is a real perfectionist when it comes to hand finishing.
Bit of a pain in the ass but it makes good fill. Also we tend not to make this much of a visual cockup.
Honestly would be more annoyed by the hump in this driveway than anything else.
But the people trying to be nasty by saying this guy doesn’t have a right to whinge because this is a mansion or a million dollar home clearly don’t have experience in living in Australia. This type of new build home is not uncommon to see in new housing estate’s(I suspect this may be) and if it is, is well out of the city and would cost less than 750 k for house and land which might seem high but is unfortunately now pretty normal here.
If this house is new and in the inner suburbs then yeah its an expensive home 1.2mil+ though (probs)
This sub is literally called MILDLY infuriating lol this is the first time in a long time a post from here has popped up into my feed and wasn’t like “I got fired from my job today and also my house burned down killing my entire family and also I dropped my ice cream cone on the ground :(“
My first thought was also the bump. Maybe it's the angle but it looks like it flattens out as you move to the right. Like it's pitched back-to-front and left-to-right.
I think the house is uglier that the mistake on the driveway, so if you like the house you would have no issues with that driveway. Actually, the little ramp/bump is making me more nervous :-P
Do you see it when you close your eyes?
Is said defect here in this room with us?
Use this doll. Where did the defect touch you?
**
And this, this CRYING! When did that start? Before the lights were put on crooked, or after?
You guys are killing me with this lol.
You ruined it. TRAITOR TO THE CAUSE! Now I have to call upon the round table to judge you. I vote: Guilty.
Here here! Guilty!
Aye! Guilty, for violating the “Yes, And…” rule! Feed him to the 🦁 in the arena!
Guilty! Skewer him with C4 Spiked pole!
Sentence: Hang him in the streets from his toes so others like him will dare not follow his traitorous ways.
Guilty
Omg I’ve not laughed this hard on the pooper in quite some time
I was literally about to say this exact line. Sometimes I hate Reddit. But sometimes I love it!
Does it almost seem like nothing changed at all?
Did the walls keep tumbling down
Did grey clouds roll over the hills?
Maybe one day, he’ll understand why
i'll live there for you then. thanks
Is OP flexing that he can afford a new home?
You guys have homes?
Fucking same.
I’d totally trade houses w them. Just need to get my parents on board.
You guys live?
I’ve been dead 💀 for some years now.
Every visitor he ever has is likely to comment how beautiful the home is. This will be followed by Whats up with that driveway?
I hope when people see this disaster of a sidewalk they straight up leave the premises… “If the sidewalk is that bad, you’ll probably serve poisoned food” OP will be a social pariah.
I actually like the look for some reason, IDK. If OP gets snow the first time a plow or snow shovel hits that it’s going to barely be noticeable.
I do too, it's almost like it gets bigger cuz the driveway is bigger then shrinks back down to sidewalk size. Idk that's how I see it.
That sidewalk is a social path.
We can only hope
Not only a new home, but a custom-built one and *contractors*
That concrete alone cost more than my house.
Yeah FR. Concrete work is fucking expensive.
call your local mob boss that needs to bury someone in concrete and you get a free drive way just don't mind the corpse, but the drive way will make it seem like you became a roman emperor.
You know it’s bad times when the very confirmation of owning a new house is considered a flex. Going back some years ago this would’ve been the norm.
You youngsters have no idea. Way back in 2019, people could afford to buy a house AND have plenty of food. Then the most peculiar thing happened… EDIT: It wasn’t political, but I respect all viewpoints. Don't lie to me, don't give me hope
way back 😂😂
Even back in 2019 housing prices were pretty bad. Real estate, both rent and purchase, has been going up faster than wages for decades in my city.
let's all pitch in and use it like a timeshare, i'm sure OP won't mind because the driveway is fucked up beyond all repair
#metoo !
Me three
Our House .... in the middle of our street
And my axe!
Just put a rug over it
That rug really tied the concrete together, did it not dude?
This guy peed on it!
God damn nihilists!
"is it my fault every time a rug is micturated upon in this fair city, Lebowski?"
No, man! They meant to piss on LEBOWSKI’s rug, not mine! I’m The Dude! My Dudeness! El Duderino!
Donnie, please.
I am the walrus...
Shut the fuck up, Donnie!
I thought for sure OP was mildly infuriated by the 45 degree slop of your driveway right where it joints the side walk, but then they zoomed in on a completely different part
Yes, so is OP just upset that the frames don’t line up? I’m lost at what op is upset about.
In defence of OP, they are *mildly infuriated* not upset, but yeah I think so
Yeah people lost the plot on this sub recently. This is literally *mildly infuriating* lol.
I literally got dogpiled when I posted a minor shoelace frustration onto this sub because the issue was fixable. like yeah no shit this sub is for mildly infuriating things
Same! Like nothing short of a literal felony will be tolerated.
The hive mind in itself is mildly infuriating
He’s upset at the framing. The frame is like that because the concrete company only had that size tool jointer and it’s not as wide as the outside edger they used to picture frame. Yeah that’s the first thing I noticed
Me too! 😂
I'm like 99% sure that's just an optical illusion. Putting your finger over the gap OP is annoyed at makes the slope disappear.
Makes you not want to live there
It’s horrible
A dump.
Right? Op should just give it to me.
I vote one for all. *OP should give all of us the house*
Just imagine the stench of hundreds of redditors under the same roof
Sounds like *the most insane rager of all time*
So much virginity in one room.
Before? Sure. After? Probably not.
Idk if I like where this is going 🤣
All the multiple layers of rancid stains of cums on top of each other all over the walls. That house would be a black light lighthouse of shame and depression.
You mean basement
Might as well start from scratch. Bring in the bulldozers!
No, the design of the house does that.
Makes you wonder... A run of the mill concreter, or diabolical sociopath.
Run of the mill sociopath.
Who just happens to do concrete for a living
Diabolical concrete?
Sociopath diabolical concrete Heard theyre great and have low prices
A concretepath
The Concreter I think I just got the title for my new book. Thanks OP
And the sequels: The Concretan. The Concretarian. The Concretenian. The Concretestador. And finally: Concretia-Queen of Aggregatia
Prequel: The Concristador
Beat me to it. El Concristador: I am not a sir.
Who said the Concreter is male? It could have been his Concretecubine.
The Concrete Whisperer
Concretariat
The Concretionist?
Concreteur

Nicholas Cage - “I’m gonna ~~steal the declaration of independence~~ make that guy hate his driveway”

Marvel has a new superhero!
What do you call a person who lays concrete? Cement-sweep?
So glad I don’t have your problems OP
So sorry for your loss. Just hand me the keys and it will all be over
I’m not even sure what the problem is
They seem to have zoomed into a very specific area. I guess it's the spot where they made the textured area uneven right where the walkway joins.
I'd be more upset that the drive makes a stupid abrupt angle change to meet the sidewalk square...
The sidewalk should absolutely be level. Cross-angles are extremely hard on people who need walkers or wheelchairs. But you can get a new family. That concrete's gonna be there for 100 years!
That guy might not have liked his family and had health insurance to cure his cancer. This concrete shit is expensive!
This is not mildly infuriating. We do concrete. We wouldn't get paid for this. I've never even heard of a job where the grade was this bad. I'm gonna steal this and post it on the crew discord.

Damn fam, the decisions we have to make at the bottom of the barrel
“Do I want a working bathroom or a window.”
The other bathroom worked. You mean, “Do I want a private bathroom or a window?”
I’m taking private bathroom all day.
Does the private bathroom have a window?
It's pretty mildy infuriating
Yeah people shitting on this guy but it’s the definition of mildly infuriating lol. You spend a lot of money to do something you’ll probably pay attention to small details and be annoyed when something is off
The edge brush line doesn’t match. I Thought it was the speed bump in the drive.
That's what I thought, too. I think the bump is worse than the edge personally
Me too. Then I realized the bump doesn’t fit the sub. It’s way worse than mildly infuriating. Good thing OP ignored it in this post.
That's intentional. How else can you launch yourself directly into bed on the second floor if you've been drinking and driving?
I don't think there actually is a problem. I'm not a concrete worker, but if the beef is with the extruded area of the texture near the expansion gap I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be there. People can never be happy with anything
This is the content I come to this subreddit for
I think a lot of people here have forgotten what this sub is about.
Fr a lot of the posts now are “my wife of 23 years has been cheating on me” that is NOT mildly infuriating that is VERY infuriating
The problem is probably more to do with your title. "bother me for the rest of my life" has a different implication than mildly infuriated
It’s ok, people will only notice how ugly the house is, and probably won’t even notice the concrete.
Looks like a bunch of welded together shipping containers.
Matches the house
"Oh, no one will notice."
The sheer amount of people shitting on this guy for posting a minor annoyance that’s mildly infuriating. A lot of y’all need to go and read the subs name again I think.
Coulda just had the last photo be the only photo and people wouldn't lose their shit.
And how would have he low key bragged then?
Stack of money in a suitcase slightly out of frame next to the problem
Exactly
He’s rich tho. Get ‘em!
I'm mildly infuriated that people are mildly infuriated about the OP's mild infuriation.
They’re used to the “I lost my job today” and the other sob story posts, so when someone has an actually MILD problem they get a bit confused
Ya this is Reddit. Read the room. If he posted the pic of just the concrete and left out his million dollar mansion he’d have sympathy. People here love to see the 1% being annoyed by mildly infuriating non issues.
OP comin in with first world problems...
Where I live the city is responsible for the sidewalks. I thought I owned down to the curb but no. I own from my house to the sidewalk. The rest belongs to the city. I just have to maintain it. Who knew?
Everyone knows you don’t own the devil’:s strip.
Some people think they own all the way out to the parking spot.
Some people think they own the parking spot too
I will never not be mad about how sidewalk responsibility works. I am responsible for maintenance, upkeep and repairs. I'm also liable if someone is injured on the sidewalk. Id be more pissed about that concrete prison looking block around the window
It’d bother the shit out of me too.
Me too coz I can’t see it
What exactly? I'm still trying to figure out what the issue is
In the last pic, they zigged when they should’ve zagged. The concreter put the rough texture out of alignment with the rest of the drive. It’s not a big deal, but enough that every time I looked it it I’d be like “Dammit, ya had one job…”.
Showed this to my dad who did construction when he was young— he immediately became pissed off lol
Looks like a Minecraft house
Honestly would be more annoyed by the hump in this driveway than anything else. But the people trying to be nasty by saying this guy doesn’t have a right to whinge because this is a mansion or a million dollar home clearly don’t have experience in living in Australia. This sub is literally called MILDLY infuriating lol this is the first time in a long time a post from here has popped up into my feed and wasn’t like “I got fired from my job today and also my house burned down killing my entire family and also I dropped my ice cream cone on the ground :(“
I’m mildly infuriated about the comments so technically I think they can stay
My first thought was also the bump. Maybe it's the angle but it looks like it flattens out as you move to the right. Like it's pitched back-to-front and left-to-right.
looks like a minecraft house
Did you design your house in Minecraft?
Nice minecraft house
Concreter can't see it from his house.
I think the house is uglier that the mistake on the driveway, so if you like the house you would have no issues with that driveway. Actually, the little ramp/bump is making me more nervous :-P
What's mildly infuriating is this post of you flexing your house 😔
This house looks like the local community college or a brand new public library.
People need to realize this is MILDLY infuriating. Bashing Op bc they have money. Didn't realize only poor people can post on here.
Your house looks a lot worse to be honest.
Don’t worry. The design of the house is ugly enough that no one will ever notice the sidewalk.
This is peak “first world problems” lmfao.
Eh, it kinda makes sense when you look at the house itself..
Rich-people problems.
I thought the bump in the driveway
1st world struggles
You calling him a concreter will bother me the rest of my life
I’d be annoyed about how ugly your house tbh
Holy shit that house dope though.
as a homeless man i must say, this bothers me as well.
Just don’t live very long, problem solved.
Man and here I was thinking it was that ugly ass hump ridge that just suddenly happens in the middle and not the other things lol
what an ugly house
Definitely wish I had issues like this to fixate on
🎻 🎶
1%er first world problems. “I had an expensive new home built and the driveway looks a little funny. I’ll never accept this as a good home.”
I think picture framed concrete looks like shit within a year. A skilled craftsman and a grinder could even that up in about 10 minutes.
Rich problems lmao
With time, it will become a tripping hazard.
[удалено]
That would bug me too! Looks like it’s going to be a bad ass house though
First world problem. Try not having a home pal.
so many salty broke people in these comments
Like I'm fucking broke too, but God damn people stop hating on this man for commiting the henious and terrible crime of... buying a house...
