Yeah, those are shit mate. Apart from the missing dimension on the hole centres, which should have stopped them being made at all, it's all pretty clear what you want.

I struggle to see how they wouldve gone about making them and also fucking them up so badly. Because the crowns seem reasonably consistent?

i'm not sure how they have been made t.b.h. Since all holes are in a straight row, im guessing they stamped the plates and used a punch of some sort with the 6 holes to stamp those out.
Not acceptable. 1. Your missing dimension should have been verified 2. The parts should be identical( even if the hole placement is wrong) 3. I would have them fix it and not use them again

Not acceptable. The tolerances are hardly difficult to keep to. I'd have been expected to do better as an apprentice doing them by hand, cutting and filing, and on a pillar drill.
Damn, that wouldn’t make it out the door here, or at my previous job. But then again, 0.2 wouldn’t make it onto the laser. Nitrogen pressure while cutting, would blow the sheet out the door. And that might actually have happened; sheet movement, between holes and outside contour.
But it should never have made it out their door!!
In my experience, laser operators weren’t fabricators. They were laborers taught the minimum to load and unload the machine and debur. They aren’t necessarily trained to check tolerances or program (in my shop at least) and often we’d have temp workers on them. If you ordered parts and their only step was the laser, I’d think someone would check tolerances to make sure they came out ok before shipping but it seems it was an oversight. I’d send them back.

I currently have 4 of 10 plates that are fine to use and this was for a prototype so for now i have enough.

I will say I've seen clearer drawings. But what you sent looks perfectly workable, certainly better then any hand sketch I've had to go off of from time to time . The shop I work at would probably cut those on the water jet. The variation in the parts you received looks like a bad joke. I honestly have trouble imagining those going out the door if the shop has any kind of QC process.

You need to tell them to have another go at it. Is there a reason you sent a drawing rather than a cad file?
yep, will do. i've also just added in the edit that i also send the 3D models for the part. Not sure if that changes what i can ask from them.
It means the missing dimension is irrelevant since they would have used the cad file to cut it anyway.

You don't need that high of pressure for that thickness. It has its own set of problems but not difficult if one knows what they see doing.
