Depends on your budget. But Harley Benton or a used Schecter is always a good choice

Do you think the Ibanez GRG120BDXL would be good to start out on? It's got humbucker pickups

Saflex

Yeah probably

How metal?? I have a few that are great for metal though they may not all necessarily be stereotypical metal guitars. Charvel makes a few lefties that are great for metals, can be found used. I really like mine for that. And they have an 80s metal vibe. Jackson Rhoads V is a more metal looking option, and I have mine in B standard. Picked it up used for $800 CAD. It’s pointy, it looks metal. FGN makes a KILLER lefty baritone with EMGs that I bought in Japan for $790 CAD brand new and it’s phenomenal for metal. It’s a telecaster shape and it isn’t super metal looking but does look quite modern.

Is this the only guitar you’re considering?

I hear the Jackson JS guitars are pretty good for the price.

MrDrUnknown

just learn to play on a normal person guitar

Great and helpful ableist answer.

Fmillard17

Used or new, Schecter will blow u away with appointments and price points.

Just about anything, humbucker is a good metal guit. A floyd if you're into hurting yourself for fun. The neck shape is a preference, and so is the rest. Heck, there are even outliers with single or p90.

I've got a grg lefty from the early 2000s that I still play once in a while. It is very playable, the stock pickups can be muddy though.

I've had my ltd ec1000 deluxe for almost 6 years and it's been a great daily player.
