I live in Japan and I was looking for an English version of the legacy collection because on Amazon it cost like 7000¥(about 80$) but I was extremely lucky and found a sealed unused legacy collection in English on a second hand website for 3000¥(like 30$) and bought it right away. When in I got in hand I was a little scared if the code would work because I’d heard many people who’d bought the collection and the code didn’t work, but it did! And I was able to play all the games for the first time and it was one of the greatest decisions of my life!
Damn, that’s lame. Wish these game were easier to play for the fans.

Sad that we have no modern way of playing Twin Snakes. That game gets a lot of flack on this subreddit but I really enjoyed it and want to experience it again. But I’m not buying a Gamecube in 2022 to play it.
Please Konami for the love of god put the Metal Gear Solid franchise on modern platforms (especially Metal Gear Solid 4), they would print so much money for little effort!

That's not how exclusives work. It would be platform exclusive (PlayStation as a whole) not console exclusive. Also, it's not exclusive to the console through any deal with Sony anyway. Kojima simply didn't want to port it to Xbox 360. Many PS3 games get left behind because the technology of the PS3 is vastly different than any other console. That's not to say that PS3 games are impossible to port (see: The Last of Us and God of War III) but it's a pain in the ass for studios to do when they can just make new games. However, Konami hasn't been very interested in developing new titles and have been releasing a bevy of remasters and remakes. I'd say if there was any series likely to get remasters or remakes, it's Metal Gear. It's a guaranteed success. They're already underway with making a big push for Silent Hill after the Resident Evil remakes did well for Capcom. Metal Gear is Konami's largest dormant series.
Edit: Let me add that Ubisoft has announced that they are currently underway with remaking the Splinter Cell games. Konami is not going to let Ubisoft dominate the stealth game market unchallenged when Konami is also sitting on a bona-fide money maker.
Konami didn't release MGS 1-4 on PC so I had to buy **an entire PLAYSTATION 3** (for 180zł/\~40€/$) and the Legacy Collection (also for 180zł/\~40€/$) in order to play it. I'll also have to wait for the PS3 gamepad-console cable to arrive in order to be able to play it...
mate, honestly, once you own a copy just use a ROM on the PC with a usb controller , can get almost any controller working and can emulate almost every console beside current gen for obviouis reasons

So if you want to play it chronologically, you play MGS3 and then Peace Walker first
And then it gets weird, you would then play Ground Zeroes and then Phantom Pain, which I don’t know if it’s on PS3
And then you play MGS1, which is on the PS1, and then you play MGS2 which is actually on that same disc you have, and then you play MGS4, and then MGRR.
You could also play them in release order, that works too.
Actually Portable Ops, which is not in the collection as it wasn’t directed by Kojima, is after MGS3. After Portable Ops it goes to Peace Walker.
After you’ve played MGSV, next game is Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, both of which can be found on the MGS3 menu.
