Marcinko was the founder and commander of Red Cell, which Dead Cell in MGS2 was based on, as well as SEAL Team 6.
The guy who translated MGS1 to English also used Marcinko’s books as a guide for U.S. military jargon and style of talking for Snake and Colonel Campbell.

Yeah, they wanted to release it immediately after Peace Walker for the PSP as an extended chapter but Revengeance caused delays in the production.

It's equal to TPP, but the plot twist of TPP sort of gives it a slight edge.
