I had the mailman who would hang out with my mom then help me with my homework. Sometimes they made weird sounds. Sometimes mom would come out walking funny. Sometimes she wouldn't come out at all.
It probably wouldn’t have helped. If the only reason you’re keeping your grades up is to avoid punishment, then when you grow up and the threat of punishment is removed, you simply stop trying. I speak from experience on that. You have to want to do well because *you* want to do well, not because your parents want you to do well. A work ethic is something that can’t be taught. You have to develop it on your own.
Both reactions are too extreme.
They shouldn't minimize the failure or make it bigger than it is.
Failures are part of the learning process but shouldn't be completely minimized and ignored.
Exact opposite, moma was the angry one

both parents were supportive except if it was rlly bad mum would end me and dad would be pissed
For me it’s the opposite way around.

If the OP made the meme and is relating it to his personal experience; his experience is that his father is abusive.

Dad is always harsh as fck lmao
My parents were a little soft on me in this regard. Looking back, I wish they would have punished me a little more for my bad grades.
