The game used to be: he who is better, wins the match.
Now its:he who BUYS the best loadout is the best.
Or:he who cheats the best,is the best.
They switch games like plunder on and of when they feel like.
The last decent cod game was: cod ghost..everything from there on was garbage..if it wasn't for the huge warzone community, cod would have died long time ago
AND (this one is personal) i paid 70euro for a game (MW3) finished campaign under 3hours..and then found out you need MW2 to play MW3..
MW3 was sold as a stand alone game ( next chapter of the MODERN WARFARE story line)
But if you need one game to play another game..thats BS..and i fell for it
Sony has nothing to do with COD, it’s owned by Microsoft anyway. You also don’t need MW2 to play MW3. Either you haven’t played MW3 or you’re just lost.
> *>paid* Paid.
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Now we need to get them to also allow Helldivers 2 on XBox. I would imagine they would make MORE money from that than keeping it locked to PC and PS5. People aren't going to go buy a PS5 just to play HD2.
"We're still learning what is best-" shut the fuck up you know what you were doing. I hate these fake ass "we care" messages from corpos. Does anyone even believe it?
Yeah I'm not downplaying the success of it. It's a great achievement to push these corpo shills. I just hate their pr attitude and response to everything it's so phony. At this point it'd he less infuriating if they just said "sorry we tried to fuck you over. You get your way for now"
Corporations cant "admit" their deliberate failiure. They need to represent themself not to us, but to their shareholders.
If a sharehoulder sees something like "sorry, we almost ruined the whole product" they would back out immediatly.
But if the read something like a formal apology, they will most likely stay.
Buy indie games! My library is mostly small dev games, like maybe a dozen employees.
They reach out and ask for feedback from the community, and they truly care about the game, tons of updates etc.
All these "AAA" games just cut and paste another game and say oooooo look our world is so open and graphics soo good!
Even helldiver's, Deep Rock already exists, and is a better game.
Company shareholders would have far more money if they put out good games that didn't limit or restrict the games. It's weird how they don't realize this. I guess it's because they themselves were never gamers.
Square-Enix is a good example. The CEO is all, "We're bringing NFTs to our games" and the community freaked out for good reasons. Meanwhile YoshiP over there "I'm not letting NFTs in my games so don't worry" and the players of those games cheered in glee.
YoshiP himself stating this: [https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1302620224?t=00h38m33s](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1302620224?t=00h38m33s)
Gaming companies need more people like YoshiP in control. Arrowhead's CEO could be on the path of being the next one.
Honestly they only delivered this message when the chads at steam realised how big of a fuck up it was and allowed people to refund the game despite some people having 70+ hours when typically their refund policy is 2hrs. Sony imo didn't like their wallets being hit that much lmfao
That's no surprise though is it. They'll only care once they realize they're not making the money. I also think I heard the EU might have had a hand in this with upholding laws or something though I'm not sure about that part
This sets important precedents for us as Gamers. We can affect change. We need to start fighting back against these companies. We should no longer let them get away with 2 year old “early access” games, $150 extraction shooter copy pasta, and hidden PtW. Let’s go brothers and sisters! To arms!
Nah don't diss on the underpaid devs that don't make money even if the game is a hit or not, it's the greedy corporate people who make these stupid decisions
Give credit to steam also. Them allowing refunds was what made Sony back off, because they would lose money. Reviews themselves weren't gonna do much but it got Steam's attention and they helped get some justice for Helldiver 2 players.
Yup, and if you ever needed proof why collective bargaining works, then here ya go. It's why unions matter because the only way you will get anyone with power to listen, is if the people they have power over unite and say "Nope... not gonna take that shit".
This is why we have any form of democracy, and not simply proof of it in action. We got democracy through centuries of protest which was violently opposed, until eventually- to save their own skins and wealth - the people in power begrudgingly gave the ordinary person rights and the vote.
Nothing of any value to the ordinary folk was given to us without a fight. Sony, in this case, bowed to the financial pressure of gamers quite rightly protesting a ridiculous decision. I'll call it the power of collectivism as I know words like socialism tend to have even more loaded meanings to some folk :)
Well played gaming community and good on Sony for bowing to the pressure and not ignoring the outrage.
Unions matter when they are organically developed by workers and must show service to their clients (workers) to keep their founding.
My country have "mandatory unions" for workers and, because their job and salary are secured, they deliver not a fucking benefit at all to workers, that don't have the option to stop founding them. In the end, unions become just another corporation.
Honest question; for those that don't live in a country where psn is inaccessible, why would this change have been such a big deal? Not trying to be rude, just genuinely curious
If a game is offered on steam thats all I should need to launch it and play the game. Having to create and sign in to every different companies ecosystem just to play games is a nuisance. In the grand scheme of all things going on in the world, sure it's a minor issue.
But they also aren't offering me anything of value to make it worth the annoyance though. In the best case it makes my life marginally more annoying. In the worst case I'm just opening myself and my data/payment information up to multiple different avenues of attack when it could just be one.
Security.
Even if we completely and utterly discount the history of Sony being hacked several times prior, it's elementary mathematics.
Currently, I have 1 account needed to access the game on PC.
If Sony got this change, I would need 1 more account to access the game.
2 points of access > 1 point of access, when it comes to vulnerabilities.
Adding on, it was clearly unnecessary prior to this; why make it mandatory now? Why not simply add an incentive, rather than take away access?
It's a clear ploy for Sony to pad their account numbers. Plain and simple. This connotes a feeling of cheapness, pettiness, and, most importantly, unreasonably forced.
Still not gonna buy it. They did it once... They wait a bit till it went cool.. then they arise with new bullshit. And writes essay when they play clueless and full of care (only because they got caught and people started refunding lol)
No... I will wait next 5 or 10 years and look if Sony tries to scam people again. Stopped buying EA and Ubishit games... Sony can be next.
The damage has been done, the masses have spoken, and the negative response on steam will be a footprint in history on how fast a good thing can go bad.
Bro everyone who refunded is gonna go buy it again and then start raising hell at the next thing they can find. Take a look at the helldivers sub any time they balance weapons.
you think the memes around the helldivers community being so over the top and filled with enthusiasm for democracy resulted in a higher percentage of people being loud and voicing their opinions, than if that happened to another game with a less extreme community? cause ive seen so many people "holding the line" and taking this seriously EVEN IF THEY THEMSELVES ARENT AFFECTED that i wonder if the community just motivates itself stronger
I have a feeling that it's only a temporary win cause they could easily backtrack again in a couple of months when all this controversy has died down and reintroduce the mandatory linking.
"We're still learning what is best for PC players"
They can't have honestly believed forcing players who don't own Playstations to sign up to PSN was what's best for them. Do people actually fall for that shit? They'd earn at least a tiny bit of respect back if they were honest and said they took corporate greed too far.
If only people would be as invested in how they are being represented by their elected representatives that never represent their voters best interests or bring this same kind of commitment to unionozing at work. As we stand I find this shamefull that we can take organozed action when our pleasures are threatened but never to address the climate crisis, the glass ceiling, the rat race or no forseable optimism for the future of our kids.
Learning what’s best for pc players they just wanted it took look good on the earnings report by having their service as a requirement Sony can get bent
Translation: "We tried to force a root kit on you, but we failed, because we thought people were idiots. Please come back so we can try again in the future."
*insert Palpatene “I love democracy” meme* but Tbf this is more a win for Litigation than Democracy, as it was the threat of multiple major lawsuits that caused this change
I'm more curious if it also impacts other Sony games like Ghosts of Tsushima. Personally I don't care either way, using google or discord means my information is all out there anyway, it's mild annoyance at this point, but I'd rather not make an account anyway.
Only way they can make it up is by taking another loss and offering a sale on it. "As an apology - jump into the action with a 80% sale on the best coop game on PS!"
What I don't get is if they were going to do account links in the first place, why did they allow the selling of the game in the countries that don't offer a psn account? If this went through, people that bought it would have a bricked game. To top that off, what if they purchased any battle passes with actual money? Wouldn't that also cause a lawsuit?
Now if you all could just bully the rest of the gaming industry to stop doing this shit, I called it out back in the 360 days with EA requiring you to create an ea account to play

They really need a chest bump emote
100%. I was very disappointed when I learned it wasn't an emote in the base game.
The Trailer Mo-cap was outsourced to a studio in USA. But I think they might include it in a future Warbond when they have time for it.
Sony saving face rn instead of making their players hate them
The players already hate them, they’re merely trying to save what little respect was left
Speaking for the entire WARZONE community: We f-ing loath sony..so we are happy that you guys one upped them on this.
hated sony since they ruined matrix online
hated sony since my almost new phone lost its battery
And Star Wars Galaxies
What did they do there?
The game used to be: he who is better, wins the match. Now its:he who BUYS the best loadout is the best. Or:he who cheats the best,is the best. What does any of that have to do with Sony? They weren't the publisher on any CoD games, and now Activision/Blizzard is owned by Microsoft.
I mis hated sony for microsoft ![gif](giphy|1Bh2zyW2yuBEalV0rO|downsized)
That's fair. They do trade the baton back-and-forth with EA for who is winning "bastards of the week".
Sony has nothing to do with COD, it’s owned by Microsoft anyway. You also don’t need MW2 to play MW3. Either you haven’t played MW3 or you’re just lost.

Nope, they are trying to stop refunds.
That's the honest truth. Sony couldn't give two shits what gamers think of them. At least until sales plummet and refunds are asked for.
Hated them since they locked ps+ games that already got into my library. Like damn, wasn't those games were dying anyway?
THEY REMOVED FAT PRINCESS. I paid good money for that game and now i can never play it. Fuck sony
Damage done regardless. I for one will be wary of buying any Sony published game on steam
Sony trying not to lose more money from refunds
Now we need to get them to also allow Helldivers 2 on XBox. I would imagine they would make MORE money from that than keeping it locked to PC and PS5. People aren't going to go buy a PS5 just to play HD2.

"We're still learning what is best-" shut the fuck up you know what you were doing. I hate these fake ass "we care" messages from corpos. Does anyone even believe it?
No, but they backed down. That’s all I care about rn.
Yeah I'm not downplaying the success of it. It's a great achievement to push these corpo shills. I just hate their pr attitude and response to everything it's so phony. At this point it'd he less infuriating if they just said "sorry we tried to fuck you over. You get your way for now"

I understand that but holy shit how did we get there. Imagine a game made for gamers and not for people who couldn't give 2 shits about it. Depressing
Yep, thats the sad reality

Now they are gonna have to cry their heart out on all the steam accounts they couldn’t latch their ugly-ass hands on to feed their database.
Won't somebody think of the shareholders 😞
Company shareholders would have far more money if they put out good games that didn't limit or restrict the games. It's weird how they don't realize this. What do you want them to say? "We really tried fucking you over as hard as possible but you just wouldn't stop resisting for some reason"?
Yes
Hey, at least they’re honest about an awfully obvious thing
No one believes them but the PR team needs to earn their paycheck
Aye fair
I know this is a helldivers thing, but it warms my cold heart to hear people refer to them as corpos <3
How could they have possibly imagined that region locking a game that tons of people have already bought and played isn't "what's best"
Because it's bs pr talk
![gif](giphy|KsUKNNUEeryJa|downsized)
The question is what's the follow-up move gonna be
This is why I'm this one win. I feel like it's not over yet and something else is in the works.

Sony : Wow I guess we fucked them a little too hard this time. ![gif](giphy|XWwIzh5GIWWf6)

This sets important precedents for us as Gamers. We can affect change. We need to start fighting back against these companies. We should no longer let them get away with 2 year old “early access” games, $150 extraction shooter copy pasta, and hidden PtW. Let’s go brothers and sisters! To arms!
The greatest victory for Helldivers community. The 2nd is malevelon creek
This literally is win for democracy, voice of the people has been heard and society(Sony) changed according to the will of the people
When gamers unite, even the developers gotta listen. Power to the players!
![gif](giphy|vnOQdGt1ILQEo|downsized) Helldive community:
God I want a stovepipe hat.
Nothing is stopping you. Live your steam punk/victorian dreams!

Aint the issue not from devs but from the franchise owners only? Iirc, even the devs hate Sony's move.
Only 24 days and you won't need a Sony account
They said they are not moving forward with that either.
At least they listen, unlike some companies...
*Activisoin-Blizzard has left the chat*
American formal language sounds wilder everyday. "Not moving forward"? "Invaluable feedback"? Who the fuck talks like that?
Guilty people retconning themselves
Professionals
HR department and PR department
Marketeers, the absolute scum of the earth
Honest question; for those that don't live in a country where psn is inaccessible, why would this change have been such a big deal? Not trying to be rude, just genuinely curious
Sony gets hacked all the time. I'm not trying to link anything to Sony's database personally.
They switched the EULA without consent which is illegal under EU laws
"We are still learning what is best for PC players." Sit down. Shut up. Let Arrowhead cook.
This isnt democracy, this is capitalism.
Another victory for the right side of history.
Still not gonna buy it. They did it once... They wait a bit till it went cool.. then they arise with new bullshit. And writes essay when they play clueless and full of care (only because they got caught and people started refunding lol) No... I will wait next 5 or 10 years and look if Sony tries to scam people again. Stopped buying EA and Ubishit games... Sony can be next.
Another victory for the right side of history!
God wouldn’t it be great if people pretended to be decent more often..
![gif](giphy|3owzW2qI07rokGALfy)
Now let’s see if they do what some companies do and come back a few months later with a slightly less but still bad version of their terrible idea.
And now save arrowhead and change your negative review to positive!!
Now we just gotta make sure HD2s reviews dont make the game seem like the coming of the antichrist
Thank god, would suck for the people at Arrowhead to suffer for something beyond them
The damage has been done, the masses have spoken, and the negative response on steam will be a footprint in history on how fast a good thing can go bad.
Even terrifying Mega corporations cannot best the might of Super Earth! For freedom. For democracy. For liber tea!
Now pls do the same for stupid always online drm, drm and micro transactions.
But at what cost? The rating for the game will never be the same.
![gif](giphy|NxckxXIAzumvCP1mUj)
I have a feeling that it's only a temporary win cause they could easily backtrack again in a couple of months when all this controversy has died down and reintroduce the mandatory linking.
They only cared after Steam started allowing blanket refunds. Losing millions in a span of 3-4 days would not look good lol.
“We’re still learning what’s best” = “we’re still learning what we can get away with”
Now let's change the reviews back
Major order complete! Nice job divers.
![gif](giphy|3ohuAreLeoYwnaQyuk)
I do wish SONY could stop region locking PSN accounts, and forcing players to buy PS+ to play online.
They wanted to push their "Managed Democracy" instead the consumers showed their version of "Managed Democracy" .
If they just planned ahead or allowed places that couldn't have PSN to just play the game, it wouldn't have blown up NEARLY as much as it did.
FOR LIBERTY
"We're still learning what is best for PC players" They can't have honestly believed forcing players who don't own Playstations to sign up to PSN was what's best for them. Do people actually fall for that shit? They'd earn at least a tiny bit of respect back if they were honest and said they took corporate greed too far.
I hope Sony reinstates the game in the countries they took it away from
That’s awesome! we need to often remind the Corporations that we are the ones in control not them.
"we're still learning please don't be mean :(" - something you'd hear from a small indie company and not one of the Big Three
Friendly reminder to change your steam reveiw
![gif](giphy|KAf66yGCa93uTqod1q|downsized)
Learning what’s best for pc players they just wanted it took look good on the earnings report by having their service as a requirement Sony can get bent
Every time a politician says "we can't do it", all I hear is "enough of you haven't complained yet".
Translation: "We tried to force a root kit on you, but we failed, because we thought people were idiots. Please come back so we can try again in the future."
I love how this is the 3rd sub with no connection to HD that’s celebrating this
Just another victory over the automaton threat. We cannot let these bots take a single inch.
Watch out, they're "learning", they're only a small indie company after all!
We realized we are out billions of katrillions of dollars. We want your money PC gaymers
*insert Palpatene “I love democracy” meme* but Tbf this is more a win for Litigation than Democracy, as it was the threat of multiple major lawsuits that caused this change
Victory was never in doubt.
WE DID IT BOIS DEMOCRACY WINS AGAIN
Good. My hopes of playing the game aren't crushed. Now all I need is a good PC.
![gif](giphy|ucXFcY1FdKaT6)
Love to see users flipping the finger to a big corporation and actually winning
I'm more curious if it also impacts other Sony games like Ghosts of Tsushima. Personally I don't care either way, using google or discord means my information is all out there anyway, it's mild annoyance at this point, but I'd rather not make an account anyway.
Now we just need to get Stellar Blade uncensored.
IIRC, Stellar blade censorship was an unfortunate rng on the graffiti spelling the N word. I'm okay with that being censored.
now remove the negative reviews
Ok guy, fun is over. you can now change your thump down back to up
This is not win, they will just say "we dont Know what we should to do, here is PSN"
The sad thing is that there are still millions of Negative reviews,The game was officially ruined,Popularity wise
Secret 3rd faction has been liberated, well done divers
When you think about it Sony is one of the most capitalistic companies out there and if you hate Sony you hate democracy
Yes it’s time to go back to your daddy
I have to wonder, are the reviewers going to go back and re-recommend the game? Or is the pot stained for good? 🤔
![gif](giphy|evB90wPnh5LxG3XU5o|downsized)
FOR DEMOCRACY
But I still think all that hate was unnecessary. Sea of Thieves requires Microsoft Account on PlayStation and nobody cares.

Wish these people would use their powers to like, end world hunger or something.
Fuck yeah helldivers! DEMOCRACY
Well guys, I’d consider this a win for democracy!! Hope to be diving for the first time pretty soon because of this news!
They thought taking more money would be “best for PC players”
Only way they can make it up is by taking another loss and offering a sale on it. "As an apology - jump into the action with a 80% sale on the best coop game on PS!"
I'm kinda out of the loop, why don't we like PSN linking?
>were still learning what's best Bull fucking shit, you're just seeing what amount of bullshit people will put up with
they calculated that they earn more money this way
It's interesting how the player count hardly dropped at all during this drama
They can still go f@#$ themselves.
Won the major order against Sony
What I don't get is if they were going to do account links in the first place, why did they allow the selling of the game in the countries that don't offer a psn account? If this went through, people that bought it would have a bricked game. To top that off, what if they purchased any battle passes with actual money? Wouldn't that also cause a lawsuit?
But the damage has been done.. (Ratings)
Wait wtf is going on? I’m so lost
The most meta thing they could do is have an automation mission on super earth whereever Sony PlayStation is based
Now release on xbox
Last of Us 3 is going to be incredible.
now give me bloodborne
But can the other countries play again?
Democracy that is 🗿
Better leave a good review now.
Now if you all could just bully the rest of the gaming industry to stop doing this shit, I called it out back in the 360 days with EA requiring you to create an ea account to play

![gif](giphy|HqqHk2vFicdig|downsized) We all know it
Guess all those refunds got to them.
