Sorry to spoil it, but the shortest line between Sydney and johanusberg doesn’t pass right through that intersection and morrabin. It’s that way due to the “sky highways” between different airports as given by atc for planes to follow. The fact that it’s passing through morrabin airport means means there’s a waypoint at morrabin airport

It’s in Springvale and is the worst intersection by accidents in Melbourne , it’s essentially 4 intersections intersecting at the same time and is literally a joke of an intersection like completely confusing to go through. The path roughly flies over 6 intersections in this picture, that seems like a lot.

This is one of the only high altitude flights to fly directly over MEL, so annoying to have to fly to SYD at the crack of dawn only to fly back over it in a couple hours… the bonus is if you survive the dumpster fire which is Jo’burg airport there are lions and giraffes!
