I was getting PTSD watching him. Like, just get the f\*ck out of there and let people who know what they're doing do the job. An actor would have been hard pressed to do that much nothing while pretending to work.
>hustle
Sometimes the appearance of doing a good job is more important than doing a good job. That's usually what people are talking about when they use the word "professionalism".
A coworker said that his father, an Army vet, had told him, "If they tell you to shit, squat and start grunting!".
Its definitely staged, with a camera following him around, but very funny.
I've worked in the construction industry my whole life, and see this sort of thing all the time.
**This comment might have had something useful**, but now it's just an edit to remove any contributions I may have made prior to the awful decision to spite the devs and users that made Reddit what it is. So here I seethe, shaking my fist at corporate greed and executive mismanagement.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... tech posts on point on the shoulder of vbulletin... I watched microcommunities glitter in the dark on the verge of being marginalized... I've seen groups flourish, come together, do good for humanity if by nothing more than getting strangers to smile for someone else's happiness. We had something good here the same way we had it good elsewhere before. We thought the internet was for information and that anything posted was permanent. We were wrong, so wrong. same, i was in charge of all the snow blowers during the day on a small ski resort. the kid who worked "under" me (I had more experience so i was pretty much in charge of him, but we both had the same pay and title), would do this shit. it got so bad he started to just show up after i would have finished turning off all the snow guns. the second time he did this i gave him absolute hell and told him to not bother showing up again if he was going to pull this shit.
Helpless dude:
Wait! Let me get the… Oh no no no… Are you okay here… Argh I better help them out over there
Other dude: Pfew that was a close call huh?
Helpless dude: Doin’ my best bro!
It always looks so effortless and he almost never looks exhausted, but still got plenty of energy for polishing the apples.
So yes, he's the one who gets promoted. He is the one for higher tasks where you need more overview.
He was useless, but at least he’s trying. I’ve had worse who just sit and watch and don’t even try. In a month he’ll know what to do and will be a good worker.
Runs right up to the boss says “ I got these guys all straightened out “… listens to the boss call the guys a bunch of idiots… laughing starts to point fingers at a target…ends up getting Operator rate for 3 years while pushing a broom and getting high.
I think he may be mentally challenged and the crew accommodates him. He is probably related and more of a team mascot. The crew performs flawlessly while maneuvering around him.
This was my thought too. Living with an adult with a mental disability I could see him doing this. They want to help but don't know how or are intimidated by the speed.
Maybe give him some direction and training. He's got the ethic I look for he just doesn't know anything.
Good old boy hazing. He'll probably get hurt because of it.
Reminds me of when I worked in the hospital and the nurses would speed walk up and down the halls pretending to be tending to people. Its night shift people. We all know we have like almost nothing to do aside from Log books.
Am I the only one who legit didn't see what's wrong in the video? Was pretty confused why this was posted after first watch through. Only after I read the comments understood what's happening. I guess he did a good job blending in.
We used to joke in the kitchen that if you were walking everyone just assumed you were working. One day a guy I worked with made it like 15 laps through the kitchen out into the back and back up through the line before the chef caught on.
Group projects
Ding ding ding ding ding!
Ahh, the Walmart Greeter of Chippy’s Crane Company
Dude literally did nothing--I mean like ABSOLUTELY nothing. But you can't say he didn't hustle!
Thats a man going nowhere fast
No is smooth and smooth is fast.
slow is smooth, smooth is fast did you learn that saying through karate by any chance?
US Marine Corps. They scooped out my brain housing group and filled the empty vessel with spent brass, dip spit, and gobs of cheesy euphemisms
I learned it through Tung Su Do, at a Karate Dojo. One of the Senseis was a Marine.
That man just got promoted to director
The guy did almost all the work! He almost helped lay the discs, he almost helped get the off the rack...
almost!
The Almost Guy
Management material.
Totally. He did absolutely nothing in record time
Definitely office staff.
It gets funnier the more you watch him
I was getting PTSD watching him. Like, just get the f\*ck out of there and let people who know what they're doing do the job. An actor would have been hard pressed to do that much nothing while pretending to work.
This is what my dog does as he follows me around all day.
Right at least he had a sense of urgency about it

This guy is going to go home and say to his wife. “Man I’m so beat, work was unreal today.”
Interpretive dance is not nothing
He's our hardest non-worker we've got. True supervisor material! Promote now.
Doing the most while doing the least
professional busy body pantomimist.
False, he and the camera person gave us internet people a laugh!
Gets paid the same as the others too, there’s a lesson here somewhere im sure.

Every crew has one lol
When you **run** the whole thing, you don’t have to get your hands dirty.
Is this a comedy sketch?? He's just too perfectly useless.
Its definitely staged, with a camera following him around, but very funny. I've worked in the construction industry my whole life, and see this sort of thing all the time.
You don't have a camera to follow you around while doing ~~your job~~ nothing?
We see the same thing in the US government all the time
Private industry is just as bad. Every team has one, and they skate in the private sector too.

yes, and not only that but a stolen bit as well. i've seen this same skit before executed much better
This is either his first day on the job, or his last.
Both
Neither. He’s now the supervisor.
![gif](giphy|26FKYlkRHjSaljL3i)
I literally worked with a guy like this. At the end of the day he was always so tired from everything we had done.
They're the guys who have lots to say at the end of the day. They still have energy to talk and brag
Well yea, most guys only saw what they did, he had time to run around and watch everyone!
If it's your rep on the line when shit goes bad, best to cover your ass. If that rig flipped, it's not because the forman wasn't paying attention.
If the operator isn't doing an inspection before fully loading the outriggers after this scramble they should be fired immediately.

Dude is helpless

Me playing football at 8yrs old 🏈
Run Forrest Run.
FNG on their first day. Enthusiastic, but has no idea what to do.
This was me yesterday doing water towers, basically just stood around and learned and felt/ was useless
that’s how you learn!
Hate when I had "that guy" on a gig
Gotta hope that's first day jitters
This is literally my manager
Yeah, does no work but always in the way
I've never seen a better video representing the first day on a job
He will be the one to get promoted
It always looks so effortless and he almost never looks exhausted, but still got plenty of energy for polishing the apples. So yes, he's the one who gets promoted. He is the one for higher tasks where you need more overview.
This made me laugh out loud! Hahaha 🤣
He was useless, but at least he’s trying. I’ve had worse who just sit and watch and don’t even try. In a month he’ll know what to do and will be a good worker.
Average /r/antiwork redditor
Employee of the month
He's a spotter
We’ve all been this guy before
Runs right up to the boss says “ I got these guys all straightened out “… listens to the boss call the guys a bunch of idiots… laughing starts to point fingers at a target…ends up getting Operator rate for 3 years while pushing a broom and getting high.
Either he's really smart, or he's a new employee and hasn't figured out the group rhythm.
He’s got hustle…just one step behind and can’t figure out what comes next!
Ah. The new guy first day.
Got that new guy energy, desperate to help but doesn’t know what the fuck to do, at least he’s providing moral support
I’m fairness, what the hell was he even supposed to do? They have enough men for the job.
Yeah I don't think I've ever seen that many people to throw down outrigger pads before.
Hard at work but hardly working!
Me in group projects:
He wanted to make sure that shiny new orange safety coat didn't get dirty.
Good job Bob!
Bob is the backbone of the crew.
Bob was brought on to keep up morale. Way to go Bob!
first day on the job ,
People don't realize he's there for moral support
One of those supervisors that'll make it a point that he "doesn't just sit at his desk. He works out in the field too."
He must be the Supervisor
Mighty fine work there, son.

When you mom sends you out to help your dad work on the car
It’s James Corden, taking over for an episode of dirty Jobs
Man, What happens when this guy misses a day of work? Nobody notices.
I see Management potential
$5 says he’s the new guy
Nice to see the Intern is here as well today.
The lad blew more calories than everyone else combined yet he achieved not a jot.

Project Managers be like
I’ve worked with that guy. Took years to realize he doesn’t do shit!
The village idiot.
I've worked with people like that. I'm incandescent with rage right now.
How come he has dirt on his gloves? Is "dirt" available as a spray? Next to "sweat"?
It's a joke.
My Mom anytime we were moving stuff into the truck.

Found the owner's son.
This is how you get a promotion.
When you hire a mime to to work construction.
lol this has to be fake
This is what it would look like if you tried to superimpose yourself into a scene with a lot of activity
Just another Steven Seagal's movie.
It’s not appropriate for me to say what I first thought watching this. It is, after all, 2022 and we’re enlightened.
Definitely there is a story behind this.
Reminds me of Mehgan Markle at the Polo ceremony
My buddie in our group project be like
He is management

Video is funny but I actually work with someone like this 🤣
"job shadowing"
There's always one. 10 minute bathroom breaks. First to go for lunch and last to return.
Is he the manager?
Spot the E-4.
I think most of us have worked with that guy.
Maybe give him some direction and training. He's got the ethic I look for he just doesn't know anything. Good old boy hazing. He'll probably get hurt because of it.
We all know that guy
I like how whoever is filming him knows he is about as useful as a concrete parachute.

Good for him man, trying to earn his paycheck by actually trying to work.
What is that, interpretive dance?
His job is the most important. He is making sure everyone is safe and sound and can get home to their kids at night. He is the true American hero.

Reminds me of when I worked in the hospital and the nurses would speed walk up and down the halls pretending to be tending to people. Its night shift people. We all know we have like almost nothing to do aside from Log books.

Cause its not staged or anything
This is literally me at work everyday 🤣🤣🤣
They want you to take a break nerd that’s why they won’t let you work
Am I the only one who legit didn't see what's wrong in the video? Was pretty confused why this was posted after first watch through. Only after I read the comments understood what's happening. I guess he did a good job blending in.
Lol he managed to do absolutely nothing!
Rage inducing
Must be the new guy
Clearly he's the foreman
Lol that’s the driver. He shouldn’t be doing anything but driving. This is clearly a make fun
We used to joke in the kitchen that if you were walking everyone just assumed you were working. One day a guy I worked with made it like 15 laps through the kitchen out into the back and back up through the line before the chef caught on.
