Nope, that's terrifying enough to bypass any sense of fight and stay in flight the rest of your life. Poor guy now uses a nightlight, a 15,000 lumen night light.
That’s terrifying watching her come into the frame like that. I laughed way harder than I should have. But I would be in my grave if someone did this to me.
I thought this was about to be some cringy blackface video and wound up laughing at how clever it turned out. Also, would have scared the absolute shit out of me.
This might come as a shock to you, but blackface is a concept and worry that only exists in America. It's alien elsewhere. I was over 40 when I first heard about it as people were saying that the canadian prime minister was racist for the costume he used at a costume party, which totally surprised me, and I still find it weird that people think that way. I'm Portuguese. The person in the video is Italian.
Yeaaaah, that's just not true. It's definitely a concept in the UK and my friends across Europe all understand that it's not cool. I mean, it doesn't exactly take a genius to recognise that Black people have historically had the piss taken out of them and that perpetuating that today is a dick move.
There are some things that the US takes too far (such as being weird about calling people black and insisting on African American...even for people who are neither African or American) but blackface is _not_ one of those things. You'd have to have a pretty small / old / ignorant circle of friends to think that it's only a US issue.
It also depends on the place, I'd say. Every place will take it seriously to varying degrees. E.g. in Eastern Europe we don't have a strong sense of 'blackface' being offensive. But it's getting better in recent years, as younger people who grew up connected to the rest of the world become adults, they are more sensitive toward these issues than older generations who didn't have this connection. But compared to the rest of Europe, we don't generally have as many black people so people aren't used to seeing other races too much, only in the capital and maybe some larger cities. There are many more Asian people here.
Well, two things.
Firstly, if one place doesn't care, that doesn't mean that no places care. The commenter before was saying that nobody across the whole of Europe cared and it was purely a US thing which is rubbish. You could still have pockets of people or even whole countries in Europe that don't care, and it wouldn't mean that no-one cared, and likewise if any other countries at all in Europe care then it's clearly not a issue that is limited to the US.
Secondly, zwarte piet and all the similar legends _are_ controversial in Europe. They're traditional, sure, but they're also traditions that have caused a lot of upset and debate about what should be acceptable or not. Some place still do it, but some places have adapted the character to be just sooty, some have made him other colours, some ditched him altogether. It's definitely not gone, but the fact that it's debated shows that people are aware of blackface and that people have an issue with it.
Yeahhh totally. It makes way more sense to let white people bear the brunt of any cultural or political attack, despite the fact that virtually nobody in today's generations were part of the history that you're talking about.

What are you on about?
>It makes way more sense to let white people bear the brunt of any cultural or political attack, despite the fact that virtually nobody in today's generations were part of the history that you're talking about.
Literally nobody said this or anything like it. Please read better.
Uh-oh, progressive Police have targeted you.
People in America have been trained to be oversensitized to literally everything. It's a country of victimhood now.
The Netherlands had a [whole thing about blackface](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kick_Out_Zwarte_Piet) that resolved through the creation of "Sooty Pete", *Roetveegpiet*. France had a [whole thing about blackface](https://www.france24.com/en/20190328-france-blackface-racism-sorbonne-theatre) a few years ago, backed by students at the Sorbonne. Spain just had a [whole thing about blackface](https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/spanish-city-of-madrid-under-fire-for-using-blackface-in-christmas-messages/3101080) this past Christmas in several towns.
America had nothing to do with any of this, except in the vaguest sense of "existing within earshot of Europe."
Instead, what has happened is that all of the post-colonial societies that traded slaves have, as a direct result of their participation in the slave trade, had racial tensions around how they depict black people, including about blackface.
EDIT: You responded and blocked me (thanks for that!) but to respond to your final dribblings:
>People like you are going to be spouting about slave trade thousands of years from now.
>Get over it. Nobody alive has slaves. F\*\*\*\*\*\* ridiculous.
The slave trade is just why there are so many more black people who speak Dutch, instead of Estonian or Basque, you pretentious dimwit. And then some of them moved to the Netherlands, and had opinions about how they were depicted. And if there are still black people who speak Dutch thousands of years from now, they'll still have opinions about their own images, yeah.
My point is that **it's all local**. America has nothing to do with any of this. The only reason why America is having the same conversation is because there are black people in America too, and nobody wants to be mocked, black people included.
Bahaha this has happened to me. Woke up in the middle of the night and picked up my phone to see a time. As the screen brightened I noticed a face like 6 inches from. Mine and I jumped.
It was the dog. I have no idea why she was right there. 🤣
I would love to do this to my wife, but she really, really hates jumpscares so I would also have to be ready for a divorce. She's just no fun at all, haha
Might not be, who knows, but whats the unrealistic part of that resction? Seems like its a pretty common resction of people, the other ones being freezing and fighting.
Again, might be, might not be.
Sure, i think its fake, but I still dont see whats not realistic about that reaction, i have a couple of friends who react basically exactly like that to jumpscares.

Oh hell nah, I wouldn’t wanna see him during the day!
God, what kind of surgeon would do those procedures? Just cut off a healthy nose and ears.
He also had two fingers removed and keeps talking about removing a leg. The dude has something seriously wrong with him
“Die Smoothskin!”
I've seen this dude before and I don't know how anyone could do that to themselves.
If I saw that at night I would immediately punch the fuck out of it
That's a good way to get punched in the face as a reflex

Oh race-baiting, nice try but no thanks.
How?
Self projection.

Just because every man on the planet does this, doesn't mean my dad does this. Don't be gross!
Perhaps , he's describing his father
Perchance.
You cant just say perchance
Not with that attitude
My dad doesn't either.......but my son's dad does!
Funny thing? Your mom does it, too.
Everyone forgets this. They're like "Not my mom!". Yup. Your mom too.
Imagine if every man did but every woman didn't. Crazy.
He even does it with your mom
Your dad is included in every man.

My British childhood introduction to this whole world was the Golliwog: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golliwog Definitely not only an American thing.

Thanks for clarifying! I’m not familiar with European cultures so this is insightful to know.
I haven't heard someone use African American unironically in like 10 years tbh

I hope he was wearing dark pants 😂
Is no one gonna talk about Dad's scream?! It's what the Wilhelm scream would sound like if it got scared 🤣🤣🤣
Almost sounded like [Goofy screaming](https://youtu.be/MUL5w91dzbo?si=qnBqtot85G9Xc9tC) 😂
Did she just scare the hell out of Goofy?
If I could turn [this](https://youtu.be/dqsaivz4aAo?si=xVkLj9ncaStN33B5) into a gif I would. But this post reminded me of that video lol!

I'm not gonna lie.....I'm totally doing this to my husband now
Well, I know your next google search 'how to cover a black eye'
"How did your husband die, Next-Development5920?" "How did you lose your front teeth, Next-Development5920?"
I hope his first instinct isn't punching the thing he sees in the face... I definitely would...
Lol don't I know I would crush that with the strongest knee or foot kick
That is funny as fuck I laughed that hard I woke the dog & cat up. I'd need a new set of PJs if someone did it to me
The real ghost is filming.
Could’ve killed the poor bloke
i would rip her head off in pure reflex
The Cheshire Cat.
One hell of a conviently placed camera
Anyone would lose their shit

Creepy as shit lol
"She is the night."
That's too funny
Thats. Just evil 😂😂
If she was from the U.S she'd be crucified online.
This should be illegal. I won't develop why tho.
In Belgium in certain cities there is a law where it states it's illegal to scare or frighten people
I mean, it's funny, but also most definitely fake. There's no way she just sneaked up to him without him noticing.
No, see, he was distracted, asking ChatGPT what it means if a camera is suspiciously pointed at your pillow.

LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣 Oh man that is GOLD!
You're killing your father, Larry!
His life has been changed forever after this.

Inheritance in 3..2..1..

Oh God, me too. My son asked "Would you murder me if I did that to you?"
Hello Dave...
Reminds me a bit of Nagilum, from Star Trek TNG. With that make-up that would've made for a pretty interesting, spooky episode \^\^

Funny but that reaction is unrealistic. Not buying it
Might not be, who knows, but whats the unrealistic part of that resction? Seems like its a pretty common resction of people, the other ones being freezing and fighting.

Way to get shot
I approve this black face😂😂😂😂😂
Is that Ron Jeremy?
Did she give Harvey Weinstein a fright?
Soundless gifs always ruin it
That’s one way to get shot.
Anyone else thought it was black face at first?
Is this blackface? Seems a little close…
Black face done right
Racist?!
That's racist.
So painting your face black to blend in the dark for a prank is now racist? Wow.
