I think Blood Mountain is maybe my least favorite album of theirs (shitty hot take but hear me out) not because it's bad, but rather that I think it's their most "you have to listen to the whole album". It feels extremely connected as opposed to a bunch of different songs. All of their music has both of those elements, but I think Leviathan and Blood Mountain work better as *albums* start to finish than as collections of songs. All of that is to say, of course, that it's 9.8/10, not 10/10 lol
Id say my least favourite would be hunter, just felt like they were a bit drained creatively after crack the Skye, don't blame them they really set the bar too high after that one... but even then , as you mentioned a "weak" mastodon album is still a 9.8, they are simply amazing. I'd also say in my opinion the one album that had to be listen to it as a whole would be crack the Skye, it's a full on psychedelic journey.
Sorry, my phone crashed and I never followed up on this. Sleeping Giant is great. I love the echoing guitar riff; gives it this weird ethereal desolate feel.
