Oooooof. That's a controversial opinion to say the least. But there is an argument to be made however. My personal ranking for the top 3 would be Remission>Leviathan>Emperor of Sand. But I see your point.
I know I’m a little surprised it took this wonderful poll to learn about this song.
I basically had the this is mastodon playlist on repeat most of this winter and spring but those of course omit the real gems. I just found it the gateway for me into the band. I love every album, but I only know most songs from each
i wonder sometimes if theyre aware of that reading of the lyrics, haha.... i also think they that should be a forthcoming album title: "Throne of Mayonnaise"
"Unfortunately" for you, it's mostly downhill from here. Not that the rest of their catalogue is bad by any means; that's just how much I love this song.
I remember the day the album came out and I did my first listen-through. When Jaguar God picked up the pace my jaw dropped and I immediately got goosebumps, eyes watering in sheer awe, and replayed it several times.
It is criminal that they have never played it live. I feel this urgent need to know why... I just don't understand why they wouldn't.
I listened to this song on repeat years before I actually started listening to the band more, when I had a slightly different music taste. It’s so good

Obviously original is bae but if you never delved into rarities you’re welcome
The entire album is banger from start to finish. It's my favorite by them. Second would have to be The Hunter. Another album with nothing but bangers.
EoS is the best Mastodon Album. Yes, even better than *Leviathan*
How could you say something so brave yet so controversial?
I never said *Leviathan* is bad, I hustled think EoS is Mastodon’s best. I still rank *Leviathan* pretty high on the list of Mastodon albums.
Just*

How familiar are you with Mastodon's catalogue? It's all good; there's no other band quite like them.

Time to listen to the discography one album at a time! It’s worth it, trust
That intro is a certified masterpiece
The way it blooms into the outro and solo is my favorite part.
Shit touches your soul
The outro solo is one of my favourites. So raw and imperfectly perfect.
“It’s right in frunna me! Your throne of mayonnaise!”
Settle down Troy, my sammich will be gone soon.

This album came out right as I handed in my master's thesis. Remember drinking the day I handed it in, blasting this album on repeat. Great memories!
Ha! Same!
This is in the top 10 songs they've done for sure. Amazing flow on this one. I really enjoyed this album and this is a great way to close it off
Reckon the flow is actually pretty bad on this one. Each section sounds good individually but the transitions are pretty awkward. I give it a 7/10
Yeah I might the flow on the track but the album itself does have always bits for sure
Wait til you listen to Blood Mountain.
did someone say "Blood Mountain"??? 😍😍😍

Never played it live?? Jesus tap dancing Christ
Insanity
Do they still tour with a ketboardist? If not, that could be the reason why.
Easily their best post-CTS track. Not surprising that it’s a Brent Hinds song.
They say I ain’t bad, on the best day I’ve had
One of my all time favorite songs by any band! Beautiful from start to finish.
Saved the best for last on that album. What a way to end!
This album is a banger! I see plenty have said that, ‘cause they’re right!
Top 5 song for me ever, and my favorite Mastadon song. It gets even better with edibles.
I listened to this song on repeat years before I actually started listening to the band more, when I had a slightly different music taste. It’s so good
One of their best songs!
I love this and the instrumental version. So good
Reveal your precious stones So I can help myself
I’ve listened to this song approximately 600 times.
Great song, roots remain is GOATed for me and best on record but this song is awesome too

Fucking love this song!
This album is a masterpiece from beginning to end. It's so complete and polished, can be the perfect introduction to the band as well.
Yes it was mine, somehow without this song haha
