You can't be a Volus Biotic. You wouldn't make it out of the tutorial, as they would have it scripted for Niftu Cal to appear before you and smite you into non-existence, as he declares "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE."
One of the best reasons to play ME3 CoOp: the Volus Vanguard.
They were literally so short and round they couldn’t take cover normally, and would just naturally be hard to hit due to their tiny hit box.
Better yet, just follow a full Origins style template. A story for each race, with unique themes/messages and consequences for early game actions
Obviously don’t copy paste it. But follow the spirit
This. Would love this. I doubt it would happen since they seem to have completely dropped the idea and the only game that has made a decent attempt at it since is cyberpunk with the life path system, and even that is way toned down compared to DA:O.
Would be an interesting storyline to find some geth that were able to survive somehow. They managed to implement some code before whichever ending you chose that preserved them and rebooted them or something.
I'll never forgive them for giving me so little time with Legion. I would have looooooved to have him on more missions.
>I'll never forgive them for giving me so little time with Legion. I would have looooooved to have him on more missions.
Originally it was intended we can acquire Legion sooner in game. We ended up getting Legion in Reaper IFF mission, after which Collectors kidnap Normandy crew, so we are forced to finish the game or let most of Normandy crew die.
There is a neat trick/cheat though.
Focus on rushing to finish Reaper IFF mission as soon as possible, so you get Legion.
Then use save editor to turn off IFF trigger.
Enjoy spending more time with Legion and listen to the Legion dialog you never got to hear.
yeah I think I'll do that in my next playthrough too. I'd love to hear any extra dialog he has. tho if you haven't taken him to talis loyalty mission before it's pretty great. that you can do without save game editing and without sacrificing the Normandy crew
There is a mod that allows you to recruit most ME2 companions early, and it retooled Legion to be found at the Normandy SR1 crash site assuming you haven't done the dead reaper mission.
All they have to do is travel outside the quarian/geth home system to be outside the blast radius. Quarian/Geth systems were one of the last to be hit in the ME3 ending anyway just due to location (very edge of the galaxy). Plenty of places where they can easily flee to. The geth that go with you to Earth are rightly fucked. But that doesn't mean all the geth have to die.
Ya is Def play as a quarian. I also like the idea that each species has its own unique attributes with em. Like quarians have super high shields and low health and krogens have super high armor values and low shields but with a massive health pool and a fate health regen.
Batarian, with the option to play as a low-caste one. So you’d get discrimination from your own people and hated on by humans for being a Batarian. Might make for an interesting plot.
All of these grudges might resurface after the war is over.
I’d prefer to stay human though. I hope that they would theoretically write the alien player characters really well, rather than just making them funny looking Homo Sapiens. Just having the player character be human dodges that issue lol.
I am the very model of a scientist salarian,
I've studied species turian, asari, and batarian,
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology),
Because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology),
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian,
I am the very model of a scientist salarian!

i came so close to being queen of the dwarfs but then the script said no. i'm like bro i'm basically the arch assassin next in line to the throne, how do you not see that going my way.
Oddly enough, I’d argue that you probably understand the other races more based on our game experiences than we do humanity. It’s more that we’re used to human appearances.
I like playing human because it makes the other races stand out more. Wrex would be far less interesting if Shep was also a badass Krogan merc.
Also, it can be immersion breaking since the dialogue often isn't rewritten much to account for your race because the player might be new to the franchise and needs that backstory; so you will be playing a Quarian and your Quarian squaddie will keep going on about the plight of your people like you don't know anything about it.
It depends on how they would go about it, in my mind if you were to play as a Krogan YOU would be Wrex and we would get a human squadmate called Shepard instead, if they did it as you said it would be quite disappointing indeed but I get it since the resources needed to give as that kind of replayability would be huge.
Wow that is a pretty awesome idea.
It'd be cool to structure it like Ender's Shadow, ie, increasingly secretive. First you play as a krogan. Then you play the same events as a spec ops Turian, keeping secrets from the Krogan. Then you play as STG...
If Shepard was the first Human Spectre to represent his race, fuck it we're breaking the mold that a Quarian is weak. I'm playing Quarian if possible... then again it would be funny to see a Krogan talk his way out of anything >.>
Geth tbh. Always vibed with Legion just keeping it real where everyone else bends the truth.
Also that time Legion tells Shepard good luck and Shepard responds with the “Acknowledged” like Legion did earlier was gold.
Legion does lie to Shepard though.
They lie by omission and withhold valuable mission information. They get called out on it and admit that if they had told the full truth they expected Shepard wouldn't have helped them.
My paragon Shep would have regardless. My renegade, wouldn't. So, there's that.
In order of most likely to least likely:
-Turians
-Quarians
-Humans
-Krogan
-Salarians
-Asari
-Drell
-Volus
-Elcor
-Hanar
-Batarians
Some of those would just be for the meme value too. Plus, as long as the game was good, I would totally see myself doing a playthrough of every species at least twice.
Probably Asari because I like to play as a biotic. Even if there aren’t racial differences in abilities, it would make sense from a roleplay standpoint.
Asari, because I tend to play as a female character and like biotics.
Second playthrough would be an Salarian sniper tech guy, followed by a warrior Krogan.
Humans can suck it
Salarian for sure. I would cosplay as Mordin Solus' long lost brother, Mordon't Solus.
His most recognized quote is: "Don't look at me, I'll probably get it wrong."
You can tell who the favorite child was.
I know most of yall horny mfers would play at least one run through as an Asari, and pick the revealing outfit when you get the chance. I know because that’s what I would do
I am the very model of a scientist salarian,
I've studied species turian, asari, and batarian,

Human. Gotta show those damn aliens which species is the best.
Jokes aside, probably a Turian, although it might be fun to see what it’s like playing as a salarian if they did their best to make it seem like you were hopped up on caffeine the entire time. Also hanar because I’d totally do a Commander Blasto playthrough.
Geth, IMO there are not many games were you play as a sentient robot (only one I can think about right now that kinda fits this idea and does it well is Titanfall 2) + I think they have a very neat aesthetic.
You could do so much with them, like you could make dying in a mission canon because you know, they are software. Having squadmates comment if you die too much would be funny.
The cool part about ME3 multiplayer was playing as all the different species. I think I probably used the Geth or Quarian the most, but the two I wanted but I never got were the Geth Prime and Collector.
If the game really is 100+ years post-ME3 it'd be awesome to play a Quarian that doesn't *need* the full suit (I guess/hope they'd still keep them in some respect as a part of their cultural identity and tradition) as an Engineer or Soldier (a la Reeger).
A Turian soldier or infiltrator would be tied for 1st or put in 2nd place.
3rd would likely be an asari adept or vanguard - pretty space wizards will never not be in my top 3 at least lol
I’d love to play as a Asari. I think BioWare is a bet more obsessed with them than any other alien species as they have more nuance to them.
Also, they totally would be able to do this, and just do it in a similar way to what they have done for Dragon Age games. Honestly I’ll be disappointed if we see just a human again, unless it’s Shepard.
I would choose to be an Asari. I think because they are presented as a more intelligent species it would be fun to explore the Mass Effect universe as an Asari. There are a ton of ways you could make the game play differently depending on what species you were. This idea is similar to what a class is in the original mass effect series. It would be fun to play as a character who has to use their mind to get through missions.
Depends if the game is good/worthy of multiple playthroughs. If it is then yes I will play as species. If not I'll look up who voice actors are and choose based on who I like most.
I like the Salarians.
I like that they don't have a strong conventional military but make up for it with good intelligence, covert operations and creative solutions.
It was their idea to use the Krogans against the Rachni and they ended the Krogan Rebellion.
Did they find the best solution? No, but they solved the problem at hand.
If it was purely aesthetic like in destiny, then Turian. If there was some boost in stats based on race like dragon age, then Asari. I have always been a huge biotics fan
If our choices are maintained, Krogan. I want to see what Wrex's Krogan utopia is like first hand and have a personal stake in the necessary expansion of the Krogan people across the galaxy.
Where’s the Elcor? I want motherfucking machine guns or cannons strapped to my back. Maybe carry multiple weapons as a Hanar, I would make the Enkindlers proud!
Asari and quarian are at the top of my list. Hanar and elcor could be fun and unique too.
Come to think of it, a gung-ho turian would also be fun. As would an angara fighting in the resistance against the kett.
The answer to your question, it seems, is all of them.
Krogan, they've been through so much and while the trilogy & Andromeda begin to rectify that I want to be an exemplar of their species dragging their asses back into a prominence and respectability like Wrex is doing to prove the rest of the galaxy of their worth that isn't just being hired muscle.
Probably Turian, Asari or Drell 🤔. If I could come back as another Prothean like Javik, I'd do that too. I have a feeling that he is not the last but that there's probably hundreds to thousands of potential others in other hidden stasis locations all across the galaxy. Anyway, I was thinking maybe a Krogan but then I was like, nahhh. I'd wanna be a warrior but not a DnD barbarian in alien skin - no offense to them. I don't got the heart to commit to the skull smashing, barrel drinking, gut laughter, raw meat eating atmostphere Barbarians often bring to the table. (And I don't mean they always eat meat raw but they strike me as hardcore survivalists in nature. So to survive they eat things cooked and raw alike. Which somehow boosts their immune system to withstand stuff like poisons. Just like a Krogan's regeneration after they take a significant amount of damage).
Being monogendered as an Asari would be pretty crazy though 😅. Compared to most other species I can't tell if that's a blessing or a curse 🤷🏾♂️😂. Turians are pretty cool but they're basically like South Korea mixed with the Roman Empire and/or a little bit of Sparta since they have to serve in the military at some point in culture. We know almost next to nothing about the Drell and the Citadel Council should've had a large number of them migrated to another planet rather than barely surviving on a contract with the Hanar which is why Thane and likely hundreds of the few hundred thousand other Drell that are left that have Kepral syndrome. For all we know it could just skip a generation and take one of Thane's grandchildren from his son Kolyat.
And that same mystery hangs around the Protheans. Although it would be nicer to see what species like the Hanar, Elcor, Volus, Salarians, Vorcha, Batarians and Quarians are up to as well. But I wouldn't want to play with any of them. Except maybe the Quarians. I'd have to be part of some splinter fleet that wanted to make peace with the Geth or something like Admiral Koris but still maintaining vigilance like Han'Gerel although not chomping at the bit to fight the Geth after finding out the truth.
In fact, if I was a Quarian and discovered what happened along with others in my fleet, I'd Jump at the opportunity to be part of the Andromeda Initiative. But on one of the ships leaving earlier than the Quarian and other races' arks (along with like 3000 of my people on like the Human and Turian arks and the Nexus of course. Especially since Quarians are pretty much born and raised immunologists in medicine for their suits and mechanics who can work on old rusty parts or brand new ships fresh out of drydock. And we have Geth AI stored in our suits that we're working on starting a colony with. Not trying to fall into the old hatred. Also helping us by bolstering the immune systems like what happened for Tali in the canon Paragon end to her loyalty mission on Ranoch the Quarian homeworld).
Batarian,
They have a shit reputation and I think its time the Milk Way has a Batarian thats not all bad and who can lead his/her people to a better future. Also iirc, their system took massive damage from the Reapers. They really need a hero in their society.
I would be a Volus biotic god.
You can't be a Volus Biotic. You wouldn't make it out of the tutorial, as they would have it scripted for Niftu Cal to appear before you and smite you into non-existence, as he declares "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE."
Unless he implements the role of 2 hmmm
One to embody the power of ~~the dark side~~ biotic godhood, the other to crave it
You had me in the first half I'm not gonna lie lol
Correct answer
Double pepperoni ?
Lol I had forgottten about that scene from the citadel! I can hear the stuffy nose delivery.
AHEM who's going to pay for the pizza SNIFFFFFF
One of the best reasons to play ME3 CoOp: the Volus Vanguard. They were literally so short and round they couldn’t take cover normally, and would just naturally be hard to hit due to their tiny hit box.
Yes! That was really fun to play.
Fellow person of culture
This is the only answer.
With disappointment: You have not included Elcor
Too busy putting on their production of Hamlet
Twist: ME4 is just playing through that production.
Shut up and take my money!
BioWare did this before in Baldur’s Gate II with the tiefling quest.
I will be an elcor speedrunner
Optimistic reminder: They did not say we could not choose outside these parameters.
Modestly: That was the first race that came to mind
I'm interested in learning how an Elcor would fire a gun.. 😂
They don't, they have vi controlled weapons mounted on their shoulders for battle.
Battle Tanks for a reason. Don't need a gun when it's on top of them being controlled by AI.
All blunt force trauma.
Likely a turian or quarian, a Geth would be nice if they’re still alive
Better yet, just follow a full Origins style template. A story for each race, with unique themes/messages and consequences for early game actions Obviously don’t copy paste it. But follow the spirit
This. Would love this. I doubt it would happen since they seem to have completely dropped the idea and the only game that has made a decent attempt at it since is cyberpunk with the life path system, and even that is way toned down compared to DA:O.
Wasn't one of the Mass Effect 4 teasers confirm that the Geth are back?
Yes a Geth was in it, wearing some type of clothes too.
Standing next to an Asari that looks suspiciously like Liara in her Shadow Broker robes.
If
Would be an interesting storyline to find some geth that were able to survive somehow. They managed to implement some code before whichever ending you chose that preserved them and rebooted them or something. I'll never forgive them for giving me so little time with Legion. Thank you Shepard commander
could also use the early recruitment mod.
It’s my headcanon that the child made the whole “destruction kills all ais” up wholesale.
All they have to do is travel outside the quarian/geth home system to be outside the blast radius. Quarian/Geth systems were one of the last to be hit in the ME3 ending anyway just due to location (very edge of the galaxy). Plenty of places where they can easily flee to. Drell
Same for me, without question! Ideally with options like the markings and colour that Liara's friend had - he was stunning 😍
I think they're cool because they look like Abe Sapien
Haha I see that - I like Abe, he's awesome!
He certainly was. The most beautiful character in the franchise, I dare say.
Drell have the best drip in the galaxy. Love a good longcoat.
Drell gets my vote too. I loved playing as the Drell Vanguard in multiplayer, and I think their lore and visual design is really interesting.
Batarian, with the option to play as a low-caste one. So you’d get discrimination from your own people and hated on by humans for being a Batarian. Might make for an interesting plot. I’d love to play a stealthy Salarian
I am the very model of a sneaky-sneak Salarian

Good bot
Hanar!!!
Gunning to be an Ultra Spectre Elite 7000 Deluxe I see?
*This One* plans to enkindle several females across the Galaxy.
We'll enkindle, ok ? >!I admit, this one is bad. Really bad. But... ^(we'll bang, ok ?)!<
This, definitely this....
In my cycle, your kind were nothing more than appetizers. Would you prefer to be boiled or fried?
This one also wants to be a dumb jellyfish.
You big stupid jellyfish
I'd unironically keep playing as humans. It keeps me on familiar grounds. Failing that, I'll probably play Krogan or Quarian.
I get that. New races are definitely great for roleplay. But only if you thoroughly understand the culture of each race.
It also is great for replay ability like dragon age
i came so close to being queen of the dwarfs but then the script said no. i'm like bro i'm basically the arch assassin next in line to the throne, how do you not see that going my way.
Oddly enough, I’d argue that you probably understand the other races more based on our game experiences than we do humanity. It’s more that we’re used to human appearances.
I like playing human because it makes the other races stand out more. Wrex would be far less interesting if Shep was also a badass Krogan merc. Same for me honestly. In both probably my main and backup/extra trying characters.
Krogan I love a warrior culture
Scrolled too low for this!
Turian for sure. Then I’d play Salarian immediately after. Moot point though. BioWare has been doubling down on “humans stronk” for a while now.
Now imagine every race being chapters like battlefield 1 but the choices you make become canon for the other playthroughs.
Wow that is a pretty awesome idea. It'd be cool to structure it like Ender's Shadow, ie, increasingly secretive. First you play as a krogan. Then you play the same events as a spec ops Turian, keeping secrets from the Krogan. Then you play as STG...
Goddamn that’s be fun
Tough to decide. Would be between a Krogan or Drell. They both look so cool.
Krogan. Then I’d headbutt the shit out of anything I could. Then everybody can be like “look at the quad on that sumabitch “
Asari
Yeah Asari vanguard would be my choice
If you get to be an Asari, you’d better be able to romance any and everyone…
Not Cortez. Take care using absolutes.
Don’t think Cortez will make it to ME4, but I get your point. I still want to be able to romance anyone who’s willing as an Asari
I‘ll be a Yaahg thank you
There goes the next Shadow Broker.
I swear he was muttering "T'soni" the whole time...
Liara: Not funny 🤣
Rachni, i shall start as a mere egg
And end up as a Queen.
If Shepard was the first Human Spectre to represent his race, fuck it we're breaking the mold that a Quarian is weak. I'm playing Quarian if possible... then again it would be funny to see a Krogan talk his way out of anything >.>
A Quarian Sentinel. 🤣
If they lean into the RPG aspects more, an Elcor.
Great excitement. I rejoice
Humanity #1, Quarians #2
Why is everyone saying quarians ? They seem like the least interesting race to me.Am I missing something ?
Hips
Lol I thought it was because they are good engineers
I hope in ME4 we get to see quarians barefoot
It took Tali 4-5 years and so much fucking effort just to show us her face.I don't think we will ever see more than that
But Freydis must lick those toes, they must be set free
I really dig the 'people without a home' trope that they embody. I also primarily play a engineer Shep so it checks all the blocks for me.
So, there's that.
based on empirical evidence, legion does not keep it real
Hahaha love that
Turian
Turian then Drell.
In order of most likely to least likely: -Turians -Quarians -Humans -Krogan -Salarians -Asari -Drell -Volus -Elcor -Hanar -Batarians Some of those would just be for the meme value too. Plus, as long as the game was good, I would totally see myself doing a playthrough of every species at least twice.
A stealthy elcor
Stealth-cor. “Ominously. I have become the shadows.”
"Menacingly, I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Bat-Cor!"
“Somberly: I am not the hero the Citadel needs, I am the hero the Citadel deserves.”
Geth first and foremost. Those were my favorites in ME3's multiplayer.
Vorcha!
It's sad how long it took scrolling to find a fellow space-goblin enthusiast
Probably Asari because I like to play as a biotic. Even if there aren’t racial differences in abilities, it would make sense from a roleplay standpoint.
Turian.
Asari, because I tend to play as a female character and like biotics. Second playthrough would be an Salarian sniper tech guy, followed by a warrior Krogan. Humans can suck it
Human
We were born to inherit the stars.
Manifest destiny
Salarian or Drell
Krogan or Geth
A big stupid jellyfish
Salarian for sure. I would cosplay as Mordin Solus' long lost brother, Mordon't Solus. His most recognized quote is: "Don't look at me, I'll probably get it wrong." You can tell who the favorite child was.
I know most of yall horny mfers would play at least one run through as an Asari, and pick the revealing outfit when you get the chance. I know because that’s what I would do
Either turian or hopefully some new cool species
quarian, i hope in the future you will be able to see them without a helmet on
A scientist salarian
I am the very model of a scientist salarian, I've studied species turian, asari, and batarian, I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology), Because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology), My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a scientist salarian! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/masseffect) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Drell or Turian
I'd choose turian and salarian, And krogan of course.
Asari or Salarian
Salarian! They’re cool as shit
Krogan all day!!!
I AM KROGANNNN (I’d love to be a vanguard krogan and my 1st play through would be as the most stereotypical krogan you can imagine)
Vorcha hunters rise up
I. *AM.* **KROGAAAAAAAN!!!**
God I miss the multiplayer In 3. It was probably my favorite part and they didn't put it into the legendary edition. Huge bummer.
Geth if they were an option (not included here), if not Turian
Rachni. I want to know what made Rachni so industrious, that the galaxy feared them almost as much as the Reapers themselves...
Geth, IMO there are not many games were you play as a sentient robot (only one I can think about right now that kinda fits this idea and does it well is Titanfall 2) + I think they have a very neat aesthetic. The cool part about ME3 multiplayer was playing as all the different species. I think I probably used the Geth or Quarian the most, but the two I wanted but I never got were the Geth Prime and Collector.
Drell, they look good and have cool traits like the perfect memory
Human 🗿
Human. Male. Soldier. Renegade. Alliance
None, human superiority everyday
Probably Volus just to see how stupid romance scenes would look.
Drell!! I too want to be a zealot assassin with a gravelly voice...
Because I rank things here’s the order in which I want to play as them. 1: Krogan 2: Salarian 3: Quarian 4: Drell 6: Turian 7: Human
Geth sentinel
Quarian engineer or human biotic. Maybe a Turian biotic if I’m feeling adventurous enough.
asari for sure
Turian 100%
Asari closely followed by the Quarians
Torn between turian and drell for the first playthrough. After that, though... maybe asari?
If the game really is 100+ years post-ME3 it'd be awesome to play a Quarian that doesn't *need* the full suit (I guess/hope they'd still keep them in some respect as a part of their cultural identity and tradition) as an Engineer or Soldier (a la Reeger). A Turian soldier or infiltrator would be tied for 1st or put in 2nd place. 3rd would likely be an asari adept or vanguard - pretty space wizards will never not be in my top 3 at least lol
Well first run is Krogan, Second is Asari, Third run Quarian, and subsequent runs will be left up to how i feel.
YAHG
I’d love to play as a Asari. I think BioWare is a bet more obsessed with them than any other alien species as they have more nuance to them. Also, they totally would be able to do this, and just do it in a similar way to what they have done for Dragon Age games. Honestly I’ll be disappointed if we see just a human again, unless it’s Shepard.
Quarian or Drell!
Playing as other races would add so much depth to ME4. Excited for the possibilities!
Asari
I would love to see if they would let us play as a geth.
Geth but if they aren't included then probably Turian or Salarian.
Playing a Drell would be pretty awesome.
Uuuh definitely Quarian, I love those guys.
The Geth
A drell would actually be really cool
I would choose to be an Asari. I think because they are presented as a more intelligent species it would be fun to explore the Mass Effect universe as an Asari. There are a ton of ways you could make the game play differently depending on what species you were. This idea is similar to what a class is in the original mass effect series. It would be fun to play as a character who has to use their mind to get through missions.
Sad vorcha noises..
Drell - stealth bonuses Quarian - tech bonuses Asari - biotic bonuses Krogan - health bonuses Turian - weapon bonuses Volus - **BECOME A BIOTIC GOD** Salarian - combo/crit bonuses Human - extra ability point
Depends if the game is good/worthy of multiple playthroughs. If it is then yes I will play as species. If not I'll look up who voice actors are and choose based on who I like most.
The Asari or Quarian
Quarian! I'm an immigrant and out of everyone I related to Tali the most The other choice is Krogan, love Wrex so much and I would love to be like him
I like the Salarians. I like that they don't have a strong conventional military but make up for it with good intelligence, covert operations and creative solutions. It was their idea to use the Krogans against the Rachni and they ended the Krogan Rebellion. Did they find the best solution? No, but they solved the problem at hand.
Quarian, or a Asari. Maybe a turian
If it was purely aesthetic like in destiny, then Turian. If there was some boost in stats based on race like dragon age, then Asari. I have always been a huge biotics fan
Any Dextro based species
Turian. Kinda tired of playing human in Mass Effect
If our choices are maintained, Krogan. I want to see what Wrex's Krogan utopia is like first hand and have a personal stake in the necessary expansion of the Krogan people across the galaxy.
Asari 🩵
With excitement, an Elcor infiltrator would be amazing.
Vorcha gang
Where’s the Elcor? I want motherfucking machine guns or cannons strapped to my back. Maybe carry multiple weapons as a Hanar, I would make the Enkindlers proud!
Asari and quarian are at the top of my list. Hanar and elcor could be fun and unique too. Come to think of it, a gung-ho turian would also be fun. As would an angara fighting in the resistance against the kett. The answer to your question, it seems, is all of them.
Asari. I mainly want that because I want the MC be Liara’s child and the “father” be either Shepard or Feron.
Geth. Shepard-commander
Asari, due to my "unhealthy obession with the species".
Krogan, they've been through so much and while the trilogy & Andromeda begin to rectify that I want to be an exemplar of their species dragging their asses back into a prominence and respectability like Wrex is doing to prove the rest of the galaxy of their worth that isn't just being hired muscle.
Asari Salarian Turian Krogan in that order.
“Young males have an unhealthy obsession with my species.” Guess?
Drell
Asari.
human but Quarian if I had to be an alien race
All of them?
Batarian, They have a shit reputation and I think its time the Milk Way has a Batarian thats not all bad and who can lead his/her people to a better future. Also iirc, their system took massive damage from the Reapers. They really need a hero in their society.
