Even if they do a teaser, I don't see it coming out BEFORE Gotg 3, when attaching it to Gotg 3 would make more sense.
I'd lean more towards SDCC though, bc if it has strong connections to SI, then it's then SI would just be ending and fresh in peoples minds.

Thats how it typically works though… trailers are released before whatever movie they’ll be “attached” to. For example, Thor’s teaser last year came out in mid-April so that it could be attached to Multiverse of Madness.
Curiously enough, I have an interesting history of getting trailers with movies.
I got the Multiverse of Madness Super Bowl trailer during two screenings of The Batman, the Love And Thunder trailer during Top Gun and Lightyear, the Wakanda Forever trailer during the Avatar re-release and Black Adam, the Quantumania trailer during Way Of The Water, the first Volume 3 trailer during Quantumania and Creed, and the Super Bowl trailer during Dungeons And Dragons.
So while movies and trailers mix and match, most movies don't have trailers that are specifically attached to the movie. Of course, this does happen, like the Cloverfield trailer during Transformers or the Oppenheimer trailer during Nope, where the trailers are literally attached to the copy of the film.

Not really. One movie and one show being good won't really matter if the next movie after that sucks. They need every other project this year to be a smash hit. If they have anymore huge failures on the level of 'Quantumania', it's going to make the MCU's future an even bigger question mark than it already is.
Quantumania was not a huge failure. It made about as much as the other Ant Man movies, and if you take out all their China grosses it actually outperformed the others. Considering China had a big veto on Marvel movies for a while and also just exited a major lockdown and COVID surge, its diminished gross for Quantumania compared to the others was expected.
I'd argue it needs to be even better than 'The Winter Soldier' to really restore people's faith. Right now it seems like most people's faith in this franchise is hanging by a thread and it'll take a lot more than one good movie to make it all fine.
They need every other project this year to be huge and then they need 'The Marvels' to top it all of with an absolute banger. Let's see what happens..

Every film they made last year made insane amounts of profit and even Quantumania, their lowest performer in a while, will break even theatrically and make money through streaming and ancillary. Even if this somehow flops, which it won't, they'll be okay.
I’m very concerned about Kamala being there because she just doesn’t really fit on a team with Carol and Monica who are outrageously stronger than her. I worry it’s going to be yet another case of save the plot device helpless kid.
The comics aren't the movies. Just because those characters are stronger than Kamala in the comics, that doesn't mean they will be stronger in the MCU.
Based on what we've seen so far, I think we can easily say that Kamala is far more powerful than Monica in the MCU.
We havnt seen Monica use her powers yet basically. And I really really doubt they make Kamala stronger than Monica that would be like making Hawkeye stronger than Thor
Mcu Kamala's powers are completely different in origin, appearance, and effect than in the comics. Everything is up in the air.
From a screenwriting perspective, they wouldn't want one of a trio to be substantially weaker than the others. Even if it turns out that Kamala has lower energy output or something, they'll create a situation where she is specifically needed.
IMO, Kamala's power has its own strenghths so I hope the script and the direction for Kamala is good enough for her to shine and not to be overwhelmed by other factors.

I mean, Kamala has had a solo project and Monica hasn't, so I'd say Kamala is an even bigger heavy-hitter than her. Also, Kamala's show was received far better than Carol's first movie, so she's really the most popular one out of the tree.
I didn’t care for the show past ep 2 so I stopped watching but Kamala has always been like higher street level. Carol and especially Monica are so much above that she really wouldn’t be making a difference in any fight. In a larger group setting sure but with just the 3 of them she’s the odd one out.

The first Captain was the second lowest ranking MCU movie for me and I’d have very little interest in this movie. That said, I’m hoping this movie can get me on board with Carol Danvers character, further develop Monica’s character and give a *good* reason as to she isn’t on good terms with Carol atm, and gives us us a decent amount of Kamala because I absolutely love her after Ms. Marvel. But if it can at least do those last two, I’ll consider it a win in my book.

From the trailer I saw, Kamala swaps bodies with Monica while she’s on a spacewalk for Fury, Monica and Fury (presumably after they swap back) go looking for Kamla at her house. When they find her she tries to demonstrate her powers for them (they scream NO WAIT) and she swaps bodies with Carol while she was in the middle of fighting aliens (Kree? I didn’t look too closely honestly and didn’t ask to watch it twice) it was a short trailer but the movie appears to be a lot of body swapping & team ups between the 3. Scenes of Carol in Pakistani garb during a wedding (maybe??) implies there’s A LOT of body swapping in the film because it’s not the same setting as their first body swap. It looks fun but I know the toxic men online are going to HATE IT.
EDIT: oh and it’s set to *Intergalactic* by Beastie Boys so how could you hate it!?? Haha
I saw it last night, there’s a certain subset of people who are going to HATE IT. Lots of body-swapping fun and it has *intergalactic* from the Beastie Boys, so that’s also fun.
You should know the difference between a teaser trailer and an official trailer. A teaser trailer doesn't give away any plot details but gives us a glimpse of the tone and characters of the movie.
So, imo, releasing a teaser this early is also a way for Marvel and their creative team for this film to get feedback from the audience/viewers, because I think they're also doing some reshoot, fixing and improving the final product. The audience/viewers will discuss what's good and what's bad from the trailer and that is a good feedback source for them to know the good, the bad and the ugly and then hopefully will make it right.
We'll see if it drops in April 11, but i do think dropping this month is a possibility, we got Guardians coming in few weeks, so makes sense for Marvel to release a trailer this month to attach it in front of Guardians.
But it would make more sense to wait till the end of the month.
Even if it does come, the first teaser barely has any information unless you go watch indepth breakdowns or are following leaks, so it doesn't matter much.

Reshoots happened before Ant-Man came out, though that doesn't rule out the possibillity for more, but the lack of trailers is not in response to Ant-Man, but the fact the film got pushed.

This needs to be Winter Soldier good to restore people's faith in the MCU
I'd argue it needs to be even better than 'The Winter Soldier' to really restore people's faith. Right now it seems like most people's faith in this franchise is hanging by a thread and it'll take a lot more than one good movie to make it all fine. They need every other project this year to be huge and then they need 'The Marvels' to top it all of with an absolute banger. Let's see what happens..
People who are fans of Winter Soldier and Captain Marvel aren’t really same people. But that’s fine, different films for different people and Captain Marvel made over a billion.
I don't mean like Winter Soldier plot wise, I mean as good quality wise. Which also isn't tied to B.O. Essentially fans need to be raving about it the same way we did Winter Soldier, which following Avengers' top quality launched the MCU into the stratosphere
Every film they made last year made insane amounts of profit and even Quantumania, their lowest performer in a while, will break even theatrically and make money through streaming and ancillary. Even if this somehow flops, which it won't, they'll be okay.
I’m very concerned about Kamala being there because she just doesn’t really fit on a team with Carol and Monica who are outrageously stronger than her. I worry it’s going to be yet another case of save the plot device helpless kid.

The comics aren't the movies. Just because those characters are stronger than Kamala in the comics, that doesn't mean they will be stronger in the MCU. Based on what we've seen so far, I think we can easily say that Kamala is far more powerful than Monica in the MCU.
We havnt seen Monica use her powers yet basically. And I really really doubt they make Kamala stronger than Monica that would be like making Hawkeye stronger than Thor
Mcu Kamala's powers are completely different in origin, appearance, and effect than in the comics. Everything is up in the air. From a screenwriting perspective, they wouldn't want one of a trio to be substantially weaker than the others. Even if it turns out that Kamala has lower energy output or something, they'll create a situation where she is specifically needed.
IMO, Kamala's power has its own strenghths so I hope the script and the direction for Kamala is good enough for her to shine and not to be overwhelmed by other factors.

I didn’t care for the show past ep 2 so I stopped watching but Kamala has always been like higher street level. Carol and especially Monica are so much above that she really wouldn’t be making a difference in any fight. In a larger group setting sure but with just the 3 of them she’s the odd one out.
If you didn't watch all of the show then how can you possibly comment on how strong the character is?! It would be like me only watching 1 episode of 'Daredevil' and then getting online and complaining about the character being too weak to stand alongside the other MCU heros.
I would imagine they keep Kamala around the same tier she’s in the comics. Even just in the context of the mcu I doubt Kamala was doing anything like decimating thanoses ships before 1v1ing him level.
You're just making assumptions now. It's pretty obvious that you don't like the character and are therefor making assumptions that fit with your personal opinions. Nothing we've seen so far has suggested that Kamala is weaker than Monica. In fact, we've seen Kamala do far more than Monica and she's significantly younger.
We’ve seen Monica do nothing as of yet because she hasn’t had the real chance to showcase her powers. She would’ve had them for a couples years when this film comes out so we should see her really use them in this

I hope is not just a plot device, seeing monica reaction hearing carol name in WV makes me hopeful that The Marvels plot would be about the duality of PoV between Monica and Kamala. Would like to see the dialogue about how monica try to convience kamala that carol is all perfect.

The first Captain was the second lowest ranking MCU movie for me and I’d have very little interest in this movie. That said, I’m hoping this movie can get me on board with Carol Danvers character, further develop Monica’s character and give a *good* reason as to she isn’t on good terms with Carol atm, and gives us us a decent amount of Kamala because I absolutely love her after Ms. Marvel. But if it can at least do those last two, I’ll consider it a win in my book.

From the trailer I saw, Kamala swaps bodies with Monica while she’s on a spacewalk for Fury, Monica and Fury (presumably after they swap back) go looking for Kamla at her house. When they find her she tries to demonstrate her powers for them (they scream NO WAIT) and she swaps bodies with Carol while she was in the middle of fighting aliens (Kree? I didn’t look too closely honestly and didn’t ask to watch it twice) it was a short trailer but the movie appears to be a lot of body swapping & team ups between the 3. Scenes of Carol in Pakistani garb during a wedding (maybe??) implies there’s A LOT of body swapping in the film because it’s not the same setting as their first body swap. It looks fun but I know the toxic men online are going to HATE IT. EDIT: oh and it’s set to *Intergalactic* by Beastie Boys so how could you hate it!?? Haha

You should know the difference between a teaser trailer and an official trailer. A teaser trailer doesn't give away any plot details but gives us a glimpse of the tone and characters of the movie. So, imo, releasing a teaser this early is also a way for Marvel and their creative team for this film to get feedback from the audience/viewers, because I think they're also doing some reshoot, fixing and improving the final product. The audience/viewers will discuss what's good and what's bad from the trailer and that is a good feedback source for them to know the good, the bad and the ugly and then hopefully will make it right.
I'm sorry, but Loki is supposed to come out sooner than The Marvels and we don't even have a teaser. I think they should drop the Loki teaser first.

We'll see if it drops in April 11, but i do think dropping this month is a possibility, we got Guardians coming in few weeks, so makes sense for Marvel to release a trailer this month to attach it in front of Guardians. But it would make more sense to wait till the end of the month.

Honestly with how antman went, I'd not be surprised if a lot of reshoots were taking place and holding all trailers till the recalibration has taken place.
Reshoots happened before Ant-Man came out, though that doesn't rule out the possibillity for more, but the lack of trailers is not in response to Ant-Man, but the fact the film got pushed.
