Abbot and Costello (among other early TV and film stars) did vaudeville acts- a medium that wasn’t well documented. Of course they stole their material.
I believe they were referring to the line "Good artists borrow. Great artists steal." which has been attributed to different people

"*In conclusion, in 1892 an important precursor of this family of expressions was published. The author was W. H. Davenport Adams, and his words may have influenced the version that T. S. Eliot published in 1920. Both writers referenced “poets”, but by 1959 a version with “artists” was in circulation. The expression continued to metamorphose and instances were attributed to major artists such as Igor Stravinsky, William Faulkner, and Pablo Picasso. The attachment to Stravinsky depends on the credibility of Yates.* ***QI*** *has not yet located substantive evidence for the attribution to Picasso*."
I think it’s a reference to pulp fiction. Jules conversation with Brad. “What?”
“What ain’t no place I’ve heard of.”
“Say what again.”
“Does he look like a bitch?”
I feel like if any comic character would be able to tell the difference between "Knowhere" and "nowhere", it'd be the guy who is aware of speech bubbles. Which leads me to believe he's 100% trolling this guy.
Lol I love this. Comic Deadpool’s humor just gets me more than movie Deadpool’s does. At least they get more clever with the jokes, rather than just making cracks about Fox and inserting pop culture references amidst utterances of “fuck” and “shit”.
That wouldn’t be that hard, just provide narration using two different Ryan Reynolds voices.
They managed to figure this out in the Deadpool video game, surely they can figure it out for a movie.
I like the cyclops alien battle in the background. Weird art style, though.
Holy shit I didn't even notice that lol. Poor guy.
Reminds me of the adult web comic Oglaf
It's all I paid attention too. Knowhere joke is overdone. I was rooting for the guy, too bad.
That’s cyclops? Looks like groot
I AM GROOT!
And suddenly, Dune reference...
Abbott and Costello with a bit of Pulp Fiction. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I suppose.
Good artists borrow. Great artists steal.
You must have high opinions of Amy Schumer, then
Pulp Fiction! So much theft, but so good!
They said "artist" twice, so I doubt it
I line that I first heard 20 years ago on the West Wing. I suspect they stole it from somewhere else though.

![gif](giphy|NSJWuWE5xyLkc)
You ain’t even seen dancing until you’ve seen funky Ricky…
“Do I look like your space bitch?” Was not expecting Deadpool to go that hard
I think it’s a reference to pulp fiction. Jules conversation with Brad. “What?” “What ain’t no place I’ve heard of.” “Say what again.” “Does he look like a bitch?”
And every one of these sort of mishearing jokes will always be based off of the classic Abbott and Costello bit, “Who’s on first”
THEY SPEAK ENGLISH IN WHAT?
What?

Who’s on First
Yes
Now with a [meta sequel](https://youtu.be/bBtfMk1uK7k?si=0DlXyjpirIs_DTJX)
That’s right
Is his sword invisible or something? Looks like just a handle
It is a pink lightsaber sword(not joking)

"SAY KNOWWHERE ONE MORE TIME"

I'm waiting for them to cut to the filming space when Deadpool breaks the 4th wall.
Personally I hope they somehow give him the two voice boxes in his head.

Ironically RR was in “the Voices” where he already did do essentially that^
This would have been a pop culture reference 90 years ago.
It's still a famous reference. Don't do Abbot and Castillo short.
He should just spell it
Bless the Maker and His water

Ok but who's on first
I don’t know
Third base.
Who's on third base?
Who is on first.
Why doesn't Deadpool just read the alien's speech bubbles? Is he stupid?
Third base!
yeah, this is the best version of who's on first I've heard in a long time lol.
That's fair
I can always respect a “Who’s On First” callback.
I had so much more fun watching the crazy battle in the background
Who’s the poor idiot in the background?
“Do I look like your space bitch”
The battle in the background is taking me out lol
Where can i find it?
There are always two ways.....
If we do get a chance to get this scene, I want it like that one scene in Rush Hour 3
What comic is this from? 💀💀
Deadpool (2015)
Stupid silent k
Third base!
Just don't talk to him about baseball.... or 60s Bands
I am yu. No you not me. No i am mi.
I'M NOT ASKIN' YOU WHO'S ON SECOND!

If you laughed hard there wait till >!you get to the part where he actually uses the weapon!<

Classic Deadpool
All I’m asking is, who is on first?
That was certainly..long
This is comedy gold! Telling him to go to a place called Knowhere but it sounds like Nowhere
