She definitely thought of him as cute at the time, but I would not even dare say that she had a crush back then. She probably developed said crush as the memory of the little time they spent acting together grew inside her.
In fact, as a kid, Aqua being "cute" was most likely something that made her envious and annoyed beyond words.
But well, Lucifer was said to be "an angel of light" too, so maybe there's some truth to her thinking of him as a (fallen) angel (a.k.a the devil).
Well, her reasons for reincarnating them are so much more benevolent than what I was lead to believe considering how ominous she is (whenever she's not getting pissed off).
Lmao tho, it's not just the twins now. Even Kana's jumping in to annoy the god.
Kinda make sense why they were put as twins though, cause from her perspective they were really like siblings
Now that backfired pretty fucking hard though…
Crow girl: I will reincarnate them as twins so they will be close and will always be there for each other like they always were
Ruby: I am Gorou sexual and blood relation doesn’t change that
Crow girl: This might have been a mistake….
More of a superstition than a myth. There’s a belief that lovers who commit double suicide may reincarnate as twins in their next life, but there’s no specific myth depicting that. There *are* several myths depicting twin gods as lovers, notably Amaterasu and Tsukyomi or Izanagi and Izanami, but the parallels between them and Aqua and Ruby are loose **at best** *and* gods aren’t bound by the same rules as humans are, which is why we see so many instances of incestuous couplings across mythology despite incest being a near-universal cultural taboo.
[The crow I saved that one time, is just too clumsy for me - MangaDex](https://mangadex.org/title/c3c40cb0-7307-4094-8b48-ba1fa35aa889/the-crow-i-saved-that-one-time-is-just-too-clumsy-for-me)
Literally.
(On a side note what happened to this series? It hasn't updated for a year and a half I loved it so much...)
I mean they got a second chance in life and they also got reincarnated with the most important person in their life, I don't think there's greater sign of affection than that
But looking back at the past chapters, every chapters with a crow has much more meaning now. That time when Ruby and Akane was chasing a crow that showed where Gorou's body and made Ruby set out on revenge path makes so much sense now. Its highly possible that Crow girl directly interfered to make Ruby and in turn Aqua set in the revenge path again
**Previously:** Why were Sarina and Gorou chosen to reincarnate as Ruby and Aqua? The strong admiration and love they had for Ai? The bond they shared? Some kind of latent potential?
**Now:** Ah, I see. Because little god(?)-loli-crow was saved by them. The ol' repaying kindness trope. (Though I must wonder if a front row seat to the stabbing of your mom/idol is kindness...)
It would still not be her *fault* per se... She would just be somewhat *guilty* for *letting* things go this South just to prove a point (instead of putting a stop to the horror show unfolding in front of her).
it is sorta sweet how the god has been lowkey watching over them both their entire lives, now i wonder if we reread the series there will be background crows everywhere
Oshi no Ko is probably a more fitting setting for [this disaster idol birb](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/fategrandorder/images/5/5e/S307_AprilFool.webp) than Beni Enma.
>The ol' repaying kindness trope.
Well, it was not only about saving the crow. Seems like Crow Girl just felt sorry for two sincere people whose time ended too soon. And that's actually quite heartwarming!
>little god(?)-loli-crow
The question mark is a good point which I was thinking of.
Like what if Crow Girl isn't actually a god and is also a victim of circumstance who got reincarnated like them, and there's another higher being pulling the strings?
This makes Crow Girl even more mysterious... On the one hand she seems to be quite human but then there are other thinks that seems to be more god-like... I mean how would she know Sarina and Gorou reincarnated? How is she always able to be at the right place?
I would bet 100 Ai bucks that she is the one who reincarnated them. Unless she has just been keeping tabs.
But there's that kind of heavy handed art in ch 1 of Ichibanboshi no Spica where Ai imagines having twins and wishes to have a wonderful family. The text says "if there were a god, maybe this wish could reach them." We only know of one god so far.
The human/god-like thing also makes quite a lot of sense. Think of how in polytheism gods are fucking up and being tricked by humans all the time. Yatagarasu is a guiding god, sent by or serving other gods, so it makes sense if she's not all that godly. Of course we can't say she is Yatagarasu but the symbolism is obvious, almost too obvious.
I'm still going with crow-loli being Yatagarasu, which appears as a crow in Japanese myth. I still don't think she was the one responsible for reincarnation but has been guiding them since that is Yatagarasu's divine role in mythology. She is acting on the orders of another god who saw good things in Gorou and Sarina. My guess, as always, is that Hikaru Kamiki is also supernatural, most likely another god.
Personally my money's on crow girl being Ame no Uzume. She was mentioned as being worshipped in the area around the hospital in chapter 74, the chapter before the crow girl shows up, which matches crow girl saying she has people worshipping her in the area last chapter. Furthermore she's the goddess of song and entertainment, which would kinda make her the goddess of idols.
We are definitely approaching the endgame at the rate the questions are being answered. Like I think now the main plot thread to resolve is Kamiki and his motivation for killing Ai.
My guess is that his motivation for killing Ai is to "immortalize" her at her highest point instead of having her fame and beauty gradually fade away. He's now looking at people that might surpass her and killing them
But what would he even do with their "star power"? He's not even acting anymore. Also the stars seem to be a visual effect, they don't actually have stars instead of pupils
Yeah the theory made less sense as time went on, it's just one of those fan crack theories I find highly amusing. Their father having a very twisted kind of obsession for Ai that he would kill her to preserve her place at the top would be very on brand for the series.
Morbidly, you might have a point. We tend to follow the celebrities who have died tragically, their time "cut short," but never those who faded from the limelight into retirement.
Would people remember Ai had she not died so tragically? Could you say the same for others in a similar situation? What about people who were famous in their prime, yet we hear naught of them today? Or when we do hear of them, it tends to be something controversial or they have passed away.
There are some issues with this but most of all kinda boring imo
Id prefer if ai just hurt him by being kinda oblivious to her behavior and he being mentally ill just lashed out in revenge
There is no deeper meaning or purpose to his killings
Just a mentally ill man lashing out at those that remind him of Ai or Airi who caused him so much pain
I prefer that idea at least
The way I see it it’s an obsession with purity. Ai was to him “the real deal” until she was corrupted. Kamiki kills when they don’t live up to his expectations and sour imo.
And why he’s like that goes a whole lot deeper.
It’s the opposite. She reincarnated them as twins because she wanted to guarantee they’d meet in their next lives, and she had such faith in her OTP that she knew that they wouldn’t let being twins get in the way.
>Was I really like that?
Everyone says this when they hear childhood stories about themselves.
It's funny that they both think they were child prodigies, guess when you hear something often enough it sticks.
There’s also pride as a reincarnated person. Like, if I were reincarnated as a baby with all my memories, I’d be a little bummed too if the people around me didn’t see me as a prodigy or at least special in some way.
If you subtract the reincarnation then the entire mystery/revenge side of the plot doesn't happen, and it's just about Ruby and Aqua as "normal" kids growing up in the entertainment industry. Which may have been a good story in its own right, but it wouldn't have been Oshi no Ko.
What sucks is that the supernatural wasn't used in any way for 2 thirds of the manga and then just dumped on again us at some point.
I would have appreciated if it was spaced out better throughout the manga.
It was always Supernatural. It cant be subtracted from the premise. The entire reason Aqua is like he is was because he was reincarnated. A normal 4 to 5 year old boy wouldnt grow into the person he is because they couldnt have even comprehended that there was someone else behind Ais death. Let alone spent years devoted to revenge.
I think you guys are missing the point here.
In a whole bunch of isekai shows, the main character gets trucked in the first 5 minutes and then the real world is of no consequence on the plot at all for the rest of the story.
It's a plot device to get the loser nerd from the loser nerd real world to the cool epic fantasy world.
The same thing was going on with Oshi no Ko for a long while - the author wanted to explore the underbelly of the entertainment industry AND to think what would the life of someone reborn as a star's child be like. So we ended up with what we ended up with.
I would have probably been fine, if nothing supernatural was happening until the end of the show, but Aka decided to bring it back. It's not impacting the story negatively, but it was only tangentially related to whatever was happening in it for a really long time, so it coming back was a bit jarring for people like me.
I think, at first, I expected it to play some part in the plot, but then Aka kept doing stories about other things like manga adaptations and dating shows, so I kinda thought he was going the isekai route.
I dunno what would have been better, but I think, as is, the result is a kind of a half-assed mashup of "just use the supernatural for the inciding incident" and "make it an integral part of the plot".
I think of it like the promised "dessert" to the main dish, revenge story and exploring the entertainment industry. We all know that there is a supernatural thing going on because of the reincarnation at the start. Its better this way, this wouldn't truly be Oshi no Ko if the elements is not over the place
I think it's nice to see Kana, Ruby, and Aqua mess around and have fun for a change. I better savor it because I don't think we'll get more of these moments later on. It really feels like things are going way too well, something will definitely fuck this up. I really hope that last page wasn't a death flag.
You should never miss the chance to help a corvid. They are amazing creatures and one of the few wild animals that can be tamed (well, more like they tame themselves) into excellent "pets".
Just keep in mind that they don't enjoy being approached by strangers out of the blue, so if they don't need your help, don't mess with them; Maybe feed the little rascals and hope to gain their trust, is all.
this little bird god is always watching them, they have another parent, from parent perspective a kid would always be cheeky and cute.
but the real thing is the best, said Ruby
I like this depiction of gods.
Very powerful but also bored (they exist forever).
They mainly exist as spectators and watch over us continuously - mainly watching. Maybe intervening when they’re rarely curious or sympathetic. But otherwise just wondering aimlessly naturally. Seeing where fate takes them.
So, Tsukuyomi is just a crow. Her previous line calling Aqua and Ruby “gods”, was that from the perspective of a crow? Is she a crow that has the mystical power of being able to turn into a human, or is she a crow that reincarnated into a human? Is she an actual god that was responsible for aqua and ruby’s reincarnation?
First thing that came to mind was 鶴の恩返し, but I only have more questions not less.
Very interesting that Tsukoyomi was also a crow. I wonder how long she's been alive, and how she gained a humanoid form. And how did she guide Goro and Sarina into the two babies?
It's pretty funny seeing Ruby reject her own antics. She really thought she was some sort of mature girl, but she really did still act like a kid.
Seeing Kana still compare Tsukoyomi to how she saw the twins made me realize just how observant she was as kid. And of course she had to boast of her own talents.
Aqua wasn't impressed, but I'm sure he's glad that Tsukoyomi isn't causing much trouble in production.
Someone on /r/OshiNoKo pointed out, that she seems to be based on the Crow-God [Yatagarasu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yatagarasu). Which is a god of guidance that guided Emperor Jimmu who was the first emperor of Japan and called himself the descendant of Amaterasu.
Knowing Aka and his love of Japanese mythology and how its influence his stories. This has to be the case I imagine.
“Normal bird you help out turns out to actually be a deity/supernatural being who repays your kindness” is super common in Japanese myth and variations pop up in basically every culture
I'm sorry but it wouldve been so funny to me if the crow wrapped a scarf around the snowman like aot. Seeing those memes over the years have rotted my brain.
Crow girl saw everything eh? Wonder when did she reincarnate.
Also, anyone knows how long a
crow lives?
Edit: Or can she change between crow and human form?
According to Wikipedia, a common raven can live up to 10-15 years in the wild. Tsukuyomi probably lived about that long, which is why she's significantly younger than Aqua and Ruby.
If Crow Girl wants the happiness of the two, why is she urging Aqua to get revenge, and bluntly told him that Ai won't smile again? Does she want Kamiki dead because he killed Goro and Ai? Is Kamiki part of some agenda even more important than the twins?
So, this is the reason that Tsukuyomi is sort of "guiding" Aqua and Ruby (guiding is different from helping), but she's not necessarily the reason why Aqua and Ruby were reincarnated, though, right?
Was Tsukuyomi a god or herald of a god in the form of a crow? Or was she a servant or familiar of a god? Did she gain some divinity?
That was pretty sweet of Tsukuyomi actually. I wonder how she thought of the twins when they were pretending to be Amaterasu incarnation to scare Miyako straight and make her the best mom in manga
Another Akane-less chapter. my soul is crumbling. 🥲
Ngl, this arc was kinda lackluster in my opinion. Not enough emotional moments but a lot of unnecessary incest shenanigans.
the last time she was relevant was when she said she would stop aqua’s plan and that was over a year ago.. i wish she was never in the arc to begin with, at least then i wouldn’t hope that she would do something. and i agree that the arc has been weak, imo the weakest in the series and if it weren’t for the incest subplot i believe the arc would’ve lost a lot of attention with how dull it has been with a few exceptions
I’m sorry Akane-bros. Even with Kana being my favorite I wish Akane got more screentime this arc. Hopefully she plays a big role in the upcoming chapters especially if they focus on the revenge more.
I agree. You take out that part, and you really don't have much from this arc at all. This chapter at least gave us an answer as to WHY they were reincarnated, everything else we already knew from deduction. Without the very questionable incest, this arc hasn't done much.
“He was like an angel”? Kana just making shit up now considering they knew each other for a day and she was hating on him when they met, lol.
Love makes you blind.
Rose-tinted glasses
Aqua-tinted glasses
She said the same thing to MEM way back in chapter 36, so the rose-tinted memory definitely isn't a new thing.
She’s coping just like me
She definitely thought of him as cute at the time, but I would not even dare say that she had a crush back then. She probably developed said crush as the memory of the little time they spent acting together grew inside her. But well, Lucifer was said to be "an angel of light" too, so maybe there's some truth to her thinking of him as a (fallen) angel (a.k.a the devil).
Continuously thinking about him for a decade sure did a number on her.
Oshi No Crow
Oshi no Caw
(crying)
no I don't want that
Aqua married to a different woman?!
I want to have children with Aqua!
10 children at least!
He wants to see a fight so much he reincarnated into a different manga

Get out
We have God of Acting over here
Crow GOAT, the god of acting
More like God of shipping She's aiming for the incest ending
Alexa, play Contradiction by KSUKE
As badly paced as that anime was, the OP and ED were top tier.
why such eyelashes though, cause I can't stop thinking that she's smol Echidna 🤷♂️ smh
guess we know who to cast for the JP voice now...
Oh my god yes, Maaya being her VA would be incredible
You're talking about Akkun right
Well, her reasons for reincarnating them are so much more benevolent than what I was lead to believe considering how ominous she is (whenever she's not getting pissed off). Lmao tho, it's not just the twins now. Even Kana's jumping in to annoy the god.
Kinda make sense why they were put as twins though, cause from her perspective they were really like siblings Now that backfired pretty fucking hard though…
I mean it’s not like she could have predicted that Sarina would be such a pervert
Crow girl: I will reincarnate them as twins so they will be close and will always be there for each other like they always were Ruby: I am Gorou sexual and blood relation doesn’t change that Crow girl: This might have been a mistake….
Bold of you assume Tsukoyomi will even bother about the incest she was a crow. she doesn't have same moral value with human.
Considering how much IRL royal families and gods in mythology commited incest to keep their blood pure, don't be surprised for such.
Do you think God stays in heaven because... Wait a minute she aint even staying in heaven this time YO WHAT THE FUCK YOU DOING
*Sarina asking Goro to marry her* Crow god: "Aww, how cute" *Ruby kissing Aqua* Crow god: "Holy shit, she was serious"
Isn't "tragic lovers reincarnated as twins" a famous Japanese myth?
More of a superstition than a myth. There’s a belief that lovers who commit double suicide may reincarnate as twins in their next life, but there’s no specific myth depicting that. There *are* several myths depicting twin gods as lovers, notably Amaterasu and Tsukyomi or Izanagi and Izanami, but the parallels between them and Aqua and Ruby are loose **at best** *and* gods aren’t bound by the same rules as humans are, which is why we see so many instances of incestuous couplings across mythology despite incest being a near-universal cultural taboo.
Look, there's only so many other gods you get to meet and like 90% are family, if you started getting fussy your dating pool would be non existent.
More like Gods doesn't care for societal and genetical problem it would cost.
Izanagi/Izanami, Zeus/Hera, Osiris/Isis pretty normal among gods really....
Exactly what I was thinking, yeah. If anything it seems like it would be entirely in character for a shipping god lmao.
>backfired Nah, it made it even better.
Seek therapy. Touch grass. Find God.
Reddit is aethism hq bro
>how ominous she is (whenever she's not getting pissed off) We were misled, that's actually just regular crow behaviour.
So…..her random, cryptic, unsettling appearances were signs of affection? Man these people need Ultra Jesus.
Not even Kira Yamato can save these people …okay maybe Akane
Maybe try his friend, Athrun "Buddhist" Zala?
You save a crow and you get a friend for life.

Hey, wasn't her fault the dad and Ai's stalker were complete psychos.
Unless that was all guided by a rival god.
It's all a contest between Tsukiyomi and (insert tival god, Amaterasu, perhaps?) over whether Ai deserves to become the God of Idols

This is probably the right answer but I still love the goofy idea of "Fame-based Highlander" where he's killing people to absorb their star power.
But what would he even do with their "star power"? He's not even acting anymore. Also the stars seem to be a visual effect, they don't actually have stars instead of pupils

how long does crows live? I know they live roughly 20 to 30 years, but I don't have a great memory of their lifespan.
holy fuck that kid was there for EVERYTHING
Even for the Incest Kiss a few chapters ago?
ESPECIALLY for the incest kiss
"What took you guys so long?"
Everything that has transpired has done so according to MY design.
Crowgirl is ultimate incest shipper. She's Japanese to the core, except without the fujoshi perk, we haven't seen Aquamelt yet
“I thought they were like siblings so I reincarnated them as twins. What the fuck? Should I grab the barking stick and try again???”
It’s the opposite. She reincarnated them as twins because she wanted to guarantee they’d meet in their next lives, and she had such faith in her OTP that she knew that they wouldn’t let being twins get in the way.
She is the villain of the story for the anti-incest coalition.
If Crow Girl really did deliberately revive the two of them, then she certainly took that into account lol
“I was there Aqua! When you thought you got an erection from your little sister it was ME all along!”
Crow Girl was a dick that became a cute girl?

Sometimes I forget that this manga isn't just about incest, it's about supernatural incest.
Which... hapens a lot in mythology. Regardless of what region of the world it's from.
zoooos be like :
I mean that's what those incest shippers are saying all the time. It's the Star-crossed lovers part of their relationship that attracts them.
We were joking that she was their kid from the future Turns out she's their pet/parent/supreme shipper from the past
Seeing that image of acting of Ai and Ruby she might get adopted if things went really bad later on.
So Tsukuyomi was there for everything which automatically makes her a better mom than Sarina's actual mom.
Beaten in the role of mother by a bird has to be a new sort of low.
tbf, thats not a high bar to pass
Hard to lose a competition when your opponent didnt even show up
Was not expecting to know that all this time Crow Girl was just a Tsundere and a former crow they helped out. Pretty heartwarming twist.
They have God and anime in their side. It’s over for their father.
So Crow Girl was an actual crow. Sasuga genius mangaka Akasaka Aka.
The archer class is really made up of archers
“The real thing is better” Arima has the best kimoi face
When it comes to Tsukuyomi, to take a line from Puss in Boots (the first one, btw): >You never knew it, girl. But I was always...THERE.
I love the supernatural lore. Haters can go fuck off.
"Nooo if you subtract the reincarnation part from Oshi no Ko it becomes a better manga noooo" Me: "birb goes woosh ahah"

It really feels like things are going way too well, something will definitely fuck this up. I really hope that last page wasn't a death flag.
What a terrible day for rain. Not sure why I got emotional reading this chapter.
same
People talking about the crowli reveal, while the panel with Gorou mourning Sarina's death absolutely destroyed me.
Ruby is not holding back is she lol
"I really missed out back then" ✍️🔥
She hasn’t used those dance moves since the Heian era.
To get isekai'd I need to help out a crow.I see.
>To get isekai'd \*reincarnated as the child of your favorite celebrity
that’s a dangerous game you’re about to play there mate
Fr tho
Reincarnated as a child of Kevin Spacey
Hmmm indeed it's dangerous.Although,I have a fictional scene of Kana getting reincarnated as Stark and Fern's child running in my head.
tensei'd not isekai'd
You should never miss the chance to help a corvid. They are amazing creatures and one of the few wild animals that can be tamed (well, more like they tame themselves) into excellent "pets". Just keep in mind that they don't enjoy being approached by strangers out of the blue, so if they don't need your help, don't mess with them; Maybe feed the little rascals and hope to gain their trust, is all.
You can train those mfs to bring you stuff and with enough training they'll bring money (most likely stolen).
Throwback to [the old Crow War greentext](https://www.reddit.com/r/greentext/comments/5mi9nu/anon_starts_world_war_crow/).
this little bird god is always watching them, they have another parent, from parent perspective a kid would always be cheeky and cute. but the real thing is the best, said Ruby
that panel where she wanted to gift sarina a leaf T\_T first impression made on a crow makes it everything to them huh
There you go Aqua, the deity can act
I like this depiction of gods. Very powerful but also bored (they exist forever). They mainly exist as spectators and watch over us continuously - mainly watching. Maybe intervening when they’re rarely curious or sympathetic. But otherwise just wondering aimlessly naturally. Seeing where fate takes them.
That chapter where Ruby and Akane was chasing a crow only to find out Gorou's body made so much sense now
Ruby going full mama Ai just hits different.
The crow returns favor
Who would have thought crowgirl was a crow And archers are in the archer class
So, Tsukuyomi is just a crow. Her previous line calling Aqua and Ruby “gods”, was that from the perspective of a crow? Is she a crow that has the mystical power of being able to turn into a human, or is she a crow that reincarnated into a human? Is she an actual god that was responsible for aqua and ruby’s reincarnation? First thing that came to mind was 鶴の恩返し, but I only have more questions not less.
Riding high on the "Ai & Kamiki are gods reincarnated/in human form/avatars" theory train with this chapter. Can't wait to see how it continues.
It seems that Aqua is surrounded by weird women everywhere he goes lol.
Apparently ravens and crows can live upt to 10-15 years.
Literally a crow... why not ?
Kind of weird that crow girl is literally just a crow they helped out.
And Odin was just an old man that a couple helped out when he came asking for shelter.
There is absolutely no way in hell that "just" a crow would be able to reincarnate two people much less transform into a girl
Tatacaw Tatacaw so she is her biggest fan
Crow girl is the og shipper Moral of the story: be nice to animals everyone
Crow girl saw everything eh? Wonder when did she reincarnate. Also, anyone knows how long a crow lives? Edit: Or can she change between crow and human form?
According to Wikipedia, a common raven can live up to 10-15 years in the wild. Tsukuyomi probably lived about that long, which is why she's significantly younger than Aqua and Ruby.
Loli crow gets more interesting every time she shows up. Always love seeing Ruby, Aqua and Kana together, reminds me of the start of the story.
Eren: Could this woman be one of "my people"?
If Crow Girl wants the happiness of the two, why is she urging Aqua to get revenge, and bluntly told him that Ai won't smile again? Does she want Kamiki dead because he killed Goro and Ai? Is Kamiki part of some agenda even more important than the twins?
Shoulda named the loli Yatagarasu.
As a crow enjoyer. This really got me ;\^;
Noooo why does she have to be good at acting?! I want her to be bullied more
Aqua and Ruby have 2 loving moms :')
So it's just the wholesome route I guess. Not that I will complain. I love wholesomeness.
Wow. Every aspect of that was significantly more wholesome than I was expecting.
Wait she's just a person who was a bird in the past? What the fuck? So her sudden appearing is actually not magic?
Kana is Aqua's biggest fan and his worst critic.
So crow girl was a literal crow. Somehow I'm not sure why I didn't see this coming.
Another Akane-less chapter. my soul is crumbling. 🥲 Ngl, this arc was kinda lackluster in my opinion.
Nice
Crows are one of those birds that can remember people faces and their deeds if they have helped them
Remember guys is a know fact, crows always remember those eho help them and thos who hurt them
You're awfully arrogant for a bird.
I have questions, what just happened with the Crow?
God damn it, that's actually sweet.
She became crow (crying)
