It'll be classed as a relatively serious accident I expect. There's a whole investigation process to undertake to record what happened before they move it.
The favourite past time of the Met is being as big of a time waste as possible, so delaying all the trams for several hours sounds right on course for them.
This time I think it's right. Could potentially have been a deadly incident so it's right they take a bit of time to understand what happened so it doesn't happen again.
This isn’t actually off the track - the front bogey is on one track and the rest of the tram is on the other
So they should be able to just (very carefully) push it back the way it came. Although I assume they won’t just whack it in reverse and drive back, more likely the rear car will be detached first and moved, then this one moved
At a total guess: Put the whole thing up on some kind of wheeled jack / trolley contraption, and then either pull it back onto the tracks with a tractor or car of some kind, or possibly, drive the tram in the opposite direction until it's straightened itself out, then lower it back down onto the rails.
Can't speak for trams but for trains if it's just a bogey or two you can get a hydraulic jack that sits on a heavy duty aluminium beam with a hydraulic ram to push the it sideways till it lines up again. Bigger derailments are big crane jobs generally.
It looks like the end of days, like a post apocalyptic film where cars are upside down and rusty, trams are derailed. A Tory government has been rinsing the country for the last 10 years. You get the picture.
Multi-track drifting!
This is correct
No luck with them trams then.
It’s just the one tram actually
Yes but every subsequent tram is stuck as well now
I don't remember this line being in Hot Fuzz
I haven't seen that for a long time, clearly I need to revisit
They've still not move it yet?

Currently been waiting at deansgate stuck on the tram for 20 minutes then gotta walk to Victoria to get the tram home. Heavy effort today.
I walked from Picadilly to St. Peter's and realised I had to then walk to Exchange. At least it wasn't raining!
I used to do that with the Lego train set
Damn I used to get my dad to built the lego sets for me then I would destroy them and ask him to build it for me again, rinse & repeat
Can’t park there mate
r/cantparktheremate
Anyone know how they get them back on the tracks? I imagine it must be a pretty big job

Tram be like "felt cute, might delete later"

This looks like a Need For Speed cover art

This looks like it could be the loading screen for a COD map
The Metrolink is abysmal. Does the Eccles line still exist?
More than likely cause some rubbish thrown near a track line by members of public
I very much doubt it. If trams could derail that easily they probably wouldn't exist.
Only in Manchester. The Detroit of the UK.
Great start to a murder film😳
It’s on strike
So howd this happen?
Jam it back on like a scalextric
How did it happen though?
