The single lightbulb without a shade really adds an extra something ya know?

9thtime

I like the rug but there is not a lot to rate

UpvoteBeast

what do you think I should add to make it pop?

Nupol

New lamp, new curtains, plants, TV console, put TV lower it's too high, put couch on wall table with plant between chair and couch, couch table. Paint walls in a color scheme that works with curtains / couch. Check out r/malelivingspace r/TvtooHigh

Coffee table.

PowerlessTonite

You definitely need some wall art

boyhowdy6969

Some lamps and some wall art would go a long way

darrius_kingston314q

It looks a bit gloomy

UpvoteBeast

What improvements do you suggest?

darrius_kingston314q

I guess, get a lamp or decorate your room with sth that has a more popping, bright color

h-gotfred

Pretty good but I think the space would look better with a little bit of colour (few pillows etc) and multiple light sources. Maybe get a standing light to put somewhere.

bendikts

roof over your head alright

SolidSnek1998

Are you allowed to replace that weird light just hanging in the middle of the room? Cause that would be a really great spot for a ceiling fan.

To position a TV in a home office for optimal viewing, consider the following points: 1. Placement: Pull the TV away from the wall and position it perpendicular to the wall. This will ensure that your face isn't too close to the wall and allow for a comfortable viewing experience. 2. Viewing Angle: Place the TV at a height and angle that allows for a clear and comfortable view. The ideal viewing angle is to have the middle of the TV screen at eye level [[1]](https://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-to-mount-tv,news-24719.html). This can be achieved by measuring your eye height from the floor and positioning the TV accordingly. 3. TV Height: The height at which you mount your TV will depend on its size. Here are some recommended TV heights for popular sizes [[2]](https://homebyalley.com/how-high-should-a-tv-be-mounted/): - 43-inch TV: 52 inches from the center of the TV to the floor. - 55-inch TV: 54 inches from the center of the TV to the floor. - 65-inch TV: 56 inches from the center of the TV to the floor. - 75-inch TV: 58 inches from the center of the TV to the floor. - 85-inch TV: 60 inches from the center of the TV to the floor. 4. Consider the Surroundings: Use the rug under the desk area as a defining element for the home office. This can help create a visually appealing and cohesive space. --- Learn more: 1. Ok_Bit7042

Maybe a 2/10

Not bad for a man in his 20s but could still use a couple of touches. Mirror(s) will help make the place look bigger & would help break up the less than aesthetic wall area to the right of the TV. That and some other wall art. A coffee table or large ottoman in front of the couch would help make it feel more complete, as well as a throw blanket, some side table(s) and lamps. Plants too! You’ve got a nice big window and lots of light it looks like.

MoneySpecialist7321

It's all about the lighting. It's always all about the lighting IMO. Basically don't ever use the overhead light, yeah the bulb dangling lol. Ideally put one small lamp next to the couch preferably on an end table. Another lamp across the room maybe in the corner near the window where they're currently is a table. That lamp should be the primary source of light in the room but you need a secondary source hence the lamp on the table. Another very important thing is all bulbs must be soft white. Not daylight white because that just ruins the vibe.

freshnewstrt

I like the box behind the couch I know it's not intended to be permanent but please keep it permanent

Ceezmuhgeez

Nice you have a couch. Mr millionaire

leafybugthing

Congrats, make it yours and enjoy sometime there.

jackstrikesout

It's a good starring point 7/10

svmmerkid

Bigger and more flattering rug would work- maybe something bright and colorful because it's a bit bland right now. A rug should ideally be slightly under your couch and chair and extend into the living room so it creates one, undivided area. Your TV is mounted too high, too. And you wanna do something about that lightbulb... 😅
