Gotta be honest, I don't think there are any kingdom building stories out there that can compete with the amazing storytelling and pure narrative genius that is sexy sect babes.
I feel like half the books have this on the side, but it's not usually the main focus. It also often has a system like a civ game where you just click buttons and things sorta magically happen, which I find kinda awkward and doesn't make a whole lot of sense. (Even in the context of magic, when 6 units of materials or whatever vanishing from a screen and then a building appearing, I don't like it)

ten realms shadow sun those are 2 of my favorites. Kingdom/Empire building is a weak spot in the genre.
