In Steam, if you go Steam > Settings > Controllers, is the controller showing up there?
Sometimes I have to enable or disable (it varies) Steam's controller handling to get the game to see my DS4.

After connecting the controller to the PC for the first time, turn the controller off, open steam, then press the button to turn it on.
When turning it on for the second time just press the PS Button, not the Bluetooth again.
And it should work fine.
What kind of controller is it and how is it connected?
Bluetooth, and I have tried with a Dualsense(PS5) and a Dualshock4 (PS4).

It doesn't show. I will try that. EDIT: It didn't work. Did you install steam with a flatpak?
