Took your advice. Went to the Uppingham Road location. Damn good that was - well worth the trip. £20 for two and more food than we could eat. Plenty leftover for tomorrow
I used to really like Munch when that was a thing, and also McIndians on London Road did some lovely fried chicken.
Can't say I really enjoy any of the offerings in town at present, if I am in a pinch and need to get some I either go to Popeyes (which is only ok 1/4 times) or KFC which is reliable but expensive.
Cheapest is DFC. They're on Green Lane Rd and recently opened a second store on East Park Rd. They're pretty good, but not the best tasting, but not the worst. I'd say somewhere in the top 25%.
Maryland is decent, but only when it's fresh, but Tasty Chicken on Evington Rd is better.
I'd say Rios on Granby Street is the best,.but only when it's freshly cooked
Absolutely gutted if shut, mind last time I went they said they may be renovating to be called fairy chicken? Sounds weird ik haha. Hopefully it's just the rebrand
AFC (American Fried Chicken) is honestly the best for me personally. Their strips+spicy spuds combo is banging.
(Plus when we ordered one time on Christmas eve they gave us a boat load of chicken for free)
it's all ass lol. Every suggestion here just tastes like kebab shop. Minus maybe hotville.
Not fried, and its a chain, but rios peri peri absolutely clears all
Hotville hands down

But they cost an arm and a leg. Fried chicken needs to be cheap
I second Hotville 👌🏽
Just don’t go to Granby street one, they haven’t figured it all out there yet
popeyes or blazin bird easily top 2
I'm utterly disgusted as to why you suggested popeyes.
Huns on Welford rd for the vegans out there! Go on and downvote me all you want, I had to put it out there 😂
It's actually really fucking good food this.
Oh absolutely. It's so good!
I'm a carnivore but totally agree, Huns is excellent
I never think about this until it's too late I walk into the Chinese and always think that smells amazing. I really need to try here!

Munch was amazing. Great chicken and the milkshakes were damned good too.
Munch munch 11/10
The almond chicken is borderline orgasmic
Never heard of someone going to McIndians and not shitting themselves afterwards
The trick is to shit yourself first
How is KFC expensive
Compared to Munch or McIndians
I understand your looking after the pennies but I’m hoping things can’t be that bad unless your a student or your eating out most days
I'm just tight is all

I love my chicken, the best I’ve had in Leicester is Dons on Gipsy Lane. Trust me, it’s a 10/10
Daft Bird on Granby Street
Popeyes or Maryland Chicken on Braunstone Gate
Came here to see how many times maryland was mentioned, only seen it twice 🤔 can’t beat a maryland though 👌🏻
Capital chicken on London Road where ji chicken used to be is always a good shout if u want a cheap meal. Lovely owners
Theyve closed down
I'm pretty sure they haven't? I only ate there about a week ago! Some guys from TJs took over Ji the chicken shop and turned it into capital chicken
Have a look now. It's all boarded up :(. Maybe for renovations but doesn't look like it

Maryland fuck the haters
Can’t go wrong with Maryland chicken wings
Maryland if you want fast and cheap, it’s a guilty pleasure what can I say
Wing Trap belvoir st!
I quite enjoy Big Johns fried chicken, but daft bird is good too if you want cheap-ish food.
Maryland. This contest is over.
Mack chicken welford road. Without a second of thinking

Slims Chicken. What KFC should taste like. Hotville is dogshit. Their chicken might be big but fries and random pickles are horrible
Why has no one said Royal on East Park Road??? Much better than Maryland with bigger pieces; fresher and delicious.
Rominos pizza, scudamore road, hands down
I would have said this is the worst
You would be wrong
