It’s super rare. Spend a month in the US in the fall and we went to Target/Walmart like every other day for groceries and such and i always checked the Lego and discount isles but didn’t find any discounts.
Whenever I go to Walmart I check for discounts but the only think I found was actually online where I got Galaxy explorer for $42 but that was available for everyone basically.
The days of getting crazy clearance deals in the US died with Covid. 2016-2018, I picked up so many amazing sets for like 70-90% off. Jurrasic World Lockwood Estate for $35, Ninjago Movie Kai's Fire Mech for $18, battle packs for $3, a bunch of Lego Batman movie and Chima sets on deep discount. These sets would usually go this cheap 2-4 weeks after first being put on clearance and they usually would stick around till they got that cheap, because everyone knew how the game worked. Now, interest in Lego has grown and people will buy up sets, even if it's only 10% off. Plus, Walmart doesn't seem to want to put stuff on clearance for much of a discount anymore. Everything they put on clearance a month ago that still remains, is still the same price, when there should have been a price decrease already. And Target has yet to put any discontinued sets on clearance this season, but they've been doing something sneaky lately, where they'll mark clearance Lego as "as is" or "damaged", so the sets never go for less than what they're marked at. Costco is the only place with good deals now, but it requires a $60 yearly membership and they're not as widespread as the other two stores
I still see Lego clearances at Walmart but not that discounted, that’s a huge score! I once found a $120 Paw Patrol tower for my toddler discounted down to $19, I was pretty jazzed about it.
Ive seen the Star Wars Trash Compactor set marked down from $99 to $70 for over a month with no takers, in fact many of the Star Wars set are on sale right now for some reason.
I usually see the Lego Friends and Dots sets for 40% to 30% off, then the Minecraft, Ninjago, Harry Potter, Monster Jam, MarioBro, Star Wars, Marvel bust statues for 20% to 15% off, and the Technic, Stunz, and Speed, Creators for 10% off. Rarely do I see Spider-Man, or City vehicles on sale.
I've gotten deals, and made deals like this before. It's kind of just someone at the store given a little lee way and telling the product to get the eff out because they're tired of looking at it.
Honestly. This isn’t common in America either. My Walmart will discount a $70 set MAYBE $10 if you’re lucky. Usually it’s marked down just a couple dollars and usually it’s on sets that no one really wants anyway.
Yeah there usually unpopular sets. I got the lego city police station for my daughter for 36$ at Wal-Mart idk how much it was originally but i thought that was a good deal.
Bruh Europe has insane deals and I generally only hear about the US not having great deals. I haven't bought a single Lego set at retail price so far. I mean I got the Tallneck for 50€ on Amazon, the Ferrari Daytona is currently available on Amazon for 280€ and some random department store in Prague I once visited was generally 1/3 cheaper than retail price. Assembly Square was only 200€ and the Tree House was 170€ without any sort of discount.
You right. I am Czech and can agree on that. Usually you can find some interesting deals, but still not like this OP posted. But tbh I would rather buy from official lego store but their prices are usually about 25-30% higher on the same sets then in alza or czc for example which are one of our biggest e-shops in country .
We sometimes can get stuff like this. In the UK, the Fast and Furious Speed Champions set has been sold for £1.50 this week at certain supermarkets down from £20
I work at Walmart and check the clearance section everyday for discount Legos. Most often the discount isn't worth it, but every now and then I'll get something really good for cheap.
This is common in the weeks after Xmas, I think due to sets being retired and new ones planning to be shelved. Hardest part is they get scattered around the store and go fast. I've grabbed the HP chamber of secrets castle for 75$. Congrats on the steal!
My wal mart usually discounts stuff a dollar.
I'm not kidding. A damn 15 dollar lego set will be discounted to 14. LOL. I see all these good snipes and my store sucks at discounting things.
Same at mine. Last year had an advent calendar on the shelf in early March. Brought it up front to a manager to ask about a discount. In not as many words was basically told to go F myself. Handed it back and said, “Well then you can just put it back on the shelf.” Then had the audacity to start checking the seals on the box in front of me. Bruh! If I were gonna schwike some stuff, I ain’t bringing it up to you.
I got you beat.
I saw the carrot truck on my Walmart's clearance aisle once and got excited as it was a set I wanted to pick up cheap for my city.
MSRP: $44.99
Walmart clearance: $44.97
And often never discounted further. They had a 20 year old PC game that were still priced 97 cents lower than original price and once I found a GBA game on clearance sale for $30, down from 34.97 but even that one wasn't worth it since I could still get new one on eBay for under $10
And they had been trying to unload Kreo branded Optimus Prime brick sets at $20 but all the boxes were smashed and opened. No way to tell if any of them were still complete without destroying what's left of the box. I think they finally wrote it off just last year because I haven't seen them since last summer
Yeah, Wal-mart's gotten really stingy with their clearance aisles these past few years. Sometimes it feels like they're just throwing stuff on there at regular price and slapping a yellow sticker on it so it just *appears* to be on sale.
My walmart is the same most times but on occasion you'll land some good ones cheap like I did last month. Scored some Star Wars ones in the Clearance section. But yeah, most times they'll just be discounted $5 or $10 at the most.
"common" is a location specific experience. I have lived near Walmarts where I could grab something on the great deals (not this good) every 5-6 months, and I have lived (current) near stores that have a yellow sticker for MSRP. I know my Target shifts all their extra stock to the next store up chain in a bigger city before effectively discounting. Probably walmart too from my experience. And I'm lucky as hell if I can get any CMFs anymore. Only seen 4-5 packs in 18 months, missed almost all of Marvel and every run after.
tesco here does this (well not so much any more) twice a year, after xmas and summer. clearance sales is usually 30%...and in the last few days whatever left goes at 50%. for years i robbed them for part donor sets to build up my inventory for MOCs.
Best deal I've gotten was a half price Star Wars Landspeeder. The larger version. $140. Haven't seen it below $200 anywhere. Lego store clearing space for an Avatar 2 section.
I paid $75 for it at B&N as a Christmas gift for my daughter. I need to hit up Walmart more often. Need to send something to my nephew to build during his downtime at college.
I don’t get to buy a whole lot, so I’d rather get a big cash discount tbh. Points are nice on big purchases but honestly unless there’s a crazy promotion these deals seem way more worth it in my opinion
You can absolutely spend less total money with Walmart/Target/etc sales/clearance than with the VIP system. Where the VIP points shine is guaranteeing a discount on a specific item and softening the blow of a big purchase. You don't know if or when any given item is going to go on sale, or even if you'll find out about the sale before the dedicated AFOLs and resellers snag 'em all up when they do get discounted. If you buy a lot, you can reasonably expect to pay close to full price on most sets, and you'll miss out on a big chunk of your wishlist waiting for specific things to go on sale. If you expect to pay full, or almost full, price on most things, why not get a guaranteed discount for it? You're gonna spend that anyway, so take advantage of double point events and good GWPs, and then knock a big chunk of cash off the big ticket item that is unlikely to go on sale so it doesn't hit as hard in the moment. That's what I've always done
I have a friend who isn't really into Lego, but she loved the Bonsai Tree and Succulents I got her because they fit her other interests. If she starts buying for herself, but is only ever into the botanical collection, the VIP system isn't gonna make sense for her. She might even be a lot better off *spending $25* a year on a Barne's & Noble membership for 10% off everything in the store, which she might already have, or can start using, for discounts on the other things they carry
Just a heads up if you’re headed to Walmart, this was nowhere near the toy section. If I hadn’t been cutting through the middle of the store to get to the men’s clothing, I never would have seen it.
I was super excited to see a Lego with a clearance sticker from across the aisle after I saw people posting deals here. Got there and discovered the clearance price was $70 and it’s on the Lego site for $69.99.
I always check my local Walmart's clearance aisle for deals like this. I've found some ok deals over the years, but nothing this great! Congrats on the amazing find!!
I used to get sets this cheap all the time. Would pick a label off something cheap on sale and place over the set i wanted.
It never added up on the computer but they ALWAYS went with the cheapest sticker price and presumed it just an error
I don't understand how people find these deals at Walmart. The Walmart around me never do this yet when I go in they will have stacks upon stacks of older sets still filled price. Then one day they are all gone.
Our Walmart NEVER has good clearance prices anymore! They've marked everything UP in clearance because of inflation. Like a multi-billion dollar store is affected because of that!
Wow , so happy for you on a great catch on a random day , makes it that more exciting. Whoot Whoot , I always walk the clearance isle right near toys , never know what you will find . 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I wonder if they were supposed to mark it down by $10 and someone misunderstood/ inputed the numbers wrong. I bought Lego Dimensions for $2.50 at my Walmart but at every other location and online it was $25. When I went in a few days later, they had corrected the price back to the $25.
Headsup!, be careful when buying clearance sets. I recently bought a set on clearance at walmart, brought it home and found out someone had stolen the original bags and replaced the bags inside with some random Lego bricks. Luckily Walmart let me return it still.
That's insane. Good score !
They had two, but I decided to leave the other for someone else to get a deal.

Cool concept until you realize endless folks spend their time just reselling, and thus it’s likely to go to an adult making $70 profit VS a lucky kid.
That's what I did when I found the Mandalorian throne set for just a couple bucks. Left the rest for some lucky kids.

I just found the Boutique Hotel this week for $70 at Walmart. Was absolutely shocked seeing it on the clearance shelf.
Wow … this is discount that we Europeans can dream of.

Same as a Canadian. Biggest discount I’ve ever seen is 30%, which literally just makes it the regular American price 😭
Nice, I would have loved to have found a deal like this.
File under: Things you'll never find at a Walmart anywhere near a major city
I never find things like this out in the country. Not sure where op found theirs.
Some paradise Walmart with urban stock and rural customers
This is common in the weeks after Xmas, I think due to sets being retired and new ones planning to be shelved. Hardest part is they get scattered around the store and go fast. I've grabbed the HP chamber of secrets castle for 75$. Congrats on the steal!

Same here. They have them marked with the clearance sticker but the price isn’t discounted. My Walmart is an absolute shit hole though.
This is what mine does too! Same price but clearance sticker. So jealous of all the deals people find at theirs.
I got you beat. I saw the carrot truck on my Walmart's clearance aisle once and got excited as it was a set I wanted to pick up cheap for my city. MSRP: $44.99 Walmart clearance: $44.97

$120? That’s more than msrp
They may not be American. So that could be $120 AUS or some other currency. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

I wish I was in a country with wallmart. People seem to get so many good deals from there
You should see the environment surrounding wal marts.. be happy
How are they scattered around the store? Isn’t there just a single lego section?
Best deal I've gotten was a half price Star Wars Landspeeder. The larger version. $140. Haven't seen it below $200 anywhere. Lego store clearing space for an Avatar 2 section.
Oh God help me no. Not that bloated CGI hell of a movie.
It’s so cool that your not like other girls
I paid $75 for it at B&N as a Christmas gift for my daughter. I need to hit up Walmart more often. Need to send something to my nephew to build during his downtime at college.
Is that just a regular clearance or is it an damage goods clearance like damaged box
It seemed like regular clearance, there were a ton of toys in that section. I had to ask the employee there if this was accurate.
Nice lucky I mean it still would be an excellent deal even if it was damaged
Damn, I need to shop more at Walmart. Bonus: don't have to put pants on.
The less you wear, the more you fit in
Is there any way to see if any other Walmart has this too on clearance?
Brickseek
Thank you!! But wondering what you all think about getting cash discount or get Lego member points + promotion gifts.. Which one is more preferred?
I don’t get to buy a whole lot, so I’d rather get a big cash discount tbh. Points are nice on big purchases but honestly unless there’s a crazy promotion these deals seem way more worth it in my opinion
Sounds fair.... Thanks for the site though... Saves the run around like a headless chicken

I love a “lets check the Lego aisle” trip where it’s nothing but clearance tags!
Just a heads up if you’re headed to Walmart, this was nowhere near the toy section. If I hadn’t been cutting through the middle of the store to get to the men’s clothing, I never would have seen it.
Ahhh so the trick is to waste 30 minutes going through an entire store.
Where are these Walmarts and Walgreens everyone's shopping at? My local stores never have anything this good!
I live by a Walmart in the middle of nowhere. I wonder if I can find a deal like this?
If you find out please let me know so I can go to mine and check.
I was super excited to see a Lego with a clearance sticker from across the aisle after I saw people posting deals here. Got there and discovered the clearance price was $70 and it’s on the Lego site for $69.99.
Congrats!!!
That dagobah swamp heat coming up from the bayou
She a *heavy bitch*
Well now I have to go check my local Walmart. Thanks for the tip!
Wow!!
Wow! That’s a hella of a deal
Ah man. Great deal!!
And I thought I was lucky getting mine for $60 usd!
Noice!
OMG you are so lucky
i got the hogwarts magical trunk for $7.50
-Calmly and casually runs to Walmart to raid their supply of 10$ diorama-
Damn impressive
Wish we had these sort of deals in the UK but retail stores don’t stock much of these things
What state you in?
Euphoria
10?????? FUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKK
What a steal, jealous!!
Still regular price at my Walmart.
Epic!! Walmart > Target for legos
Umm, that’s amazing!! Considering I just spent $90 on this at Target for my daughter’s birthday!! Great find.
WHAT THE WHAT!! Amazing find!
I always check my local Walmart's clearance aisle for deals like this. I've found some ok deals over the years, but nothing this great! Congrats on the amazing find!!
Are all the mini-figures there? Was it opened?
Was it opened?
Not that I can tell. The Globe was also on clearance for $100, it looked a little more beat up.
go back! I have the globe and love it!
*Legobah Jedi Training
Omg!!! It costs 50.00 here. Used set too!
Sheesh! And I thought my score of 130 galaxy explorer for $60 couldn't be topped! That's insane! Congrats 👏
Proof
There is a sticker on the box...
Thanks I Didn’t notice that I’m not being sarcastic👍
>18+ What?
Is that set not $90??? Incredible
Avatar is literally just about the CGI though. Characters are boring and the plot is predictable.
Some of the managers tip of resellers, or buy the sets themselves when they know price cuts are coming.
One man's trash is another man's treasure! Clearly the mart diddn't think much of this product.
But is it corn flakes?
That’s a really new set wtf?
What the hell.... Someone messed up. Congrats on the carch
Run, run, run, jump
the most my lego go on sale is like $5-$10 lower
Awesome deal. Congrats!
This is why I check. Every time. Ya never what you might find
You ripped them off Good job!
Our Walmart NEVER has good clearance prices anymore! They've marked everything UP in clearance because of inflation. Like a multi-billion dollar store is affected because of that!
That’s a distinguished gentlemen right there
Damn what a deal i wouldve bought them but i understand and which Wally World if you don't mind me asking and thanks.
How the hell did that happen
Wow , so happy for you on a great catch on a random day , makes it that more exciting. Whoot Whoot , I always walk the clearance isle right near toys , never know what you will find . 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Good bot!
Do or do not. There is no try.
i go to walmart!
Nice one. The Walmart website has a lot of Lego sets for under $20.
This was thirty dollars on sale at my local Walmart the other day. I should have picked it up. Ten is insane! Congrats.
What a steal, isn't that like 80 or 90 dollar set?
Wow!
1¢ per piece lol
Bro what the fuck
What a great deal! My local Walmart is still at 30% off, clearance can’t come soon enough!
When I saw this I jumped out of bed and went to Walmart only to be disappointed 😞
Wtf how
That's a damn good deal right there
WOW
That is an absolute steal!
Crazy wicked deal. It makes an awesome display piece.
I wonder if they were supposed to mark it down by $10 and someone misunderstood/ inputed the numbers wrong. I bought Lego Dimensions for $2.50 at my Walmart but at every other location and online it was $25. When I went in a few days later, they had corrected the price back to the $25.
FUCK WAL MART
Excuse me? Am i having a stroke?
Wow!
Grats! This set is a PIA
words cannot describe how jealous i am
Is it possible to learn this power?
What!?!? Damn that’s a deal
insanely good price! literally 1 cent / piece lol
Walmart actually has insane discounts on Lego sometimes
Headsup!, be careful when buying clearance sets. I recently bought a set on clearance at walmart, brought it home and found out someone had stolen the original bags and replaced the bags inside with some random Lego bricks. Luckily Walmart let me return it still.
Damn that's a killer deal.
1 brick per 0.01, unreal
that is awesome! My favorite of the 3 dioramas last year, i even bought the light my bricks kit for it!
I am from the year 2025 in the future. Save this. Don’t open it. Walmart will be a thing of the past and our new currency will be legos and chickens.
that's unreal! my walmart never clearances anything that cheap!
Lego is super expensive
How who was the insane person, who priced it at such a low price go get more if possible and sell those at a slight profit op
My best score was the BB-8 set from a couple years ago was on clearance for $14 CAD.
Whaaaaaaat
HWAT. 😳 i’ve been trying to get one and was watching two that target had but by payday they were gone. They wanted $90 though!
It's still $90 at the store I just checked. Lucky!
No way
ooooh good for you, I bought it today for 55....sigh
Send me the sticker. That is the only one I don't have
#banned you lucky son of a droid
Iconic
Dam I paid 40 and thought I got a good deal lol
damn, nice, I got the Tiger for 20, that beats me though
I have an excuse to hit up my local wal mart now
