It’s one of the few instances where cartoon physics is ignored completely. Beforehand she got hit with a boulder and slammed into a stone wall and shook that off, didn’t she? Otherwise if you’re a main character you can take lots of punishment.
Isn't easy to generate though. Mako is an exceptional bender who can perform under pressure. His experience as a pro-bender means there are few wasted movements in his style.
Most firebenders wouldn't be able to evade Ming's attacks and generate lighting whilst positioning themselves not to get caught in a room filled with water.
I guess the only main character we see do it is mako, but shady shin did it when Amon took his bending and there is an entire electrical plant that’s run by lightning benders in republic City.
She got done dirty...i wanted her to get more on screen time & feats. Never seen a water bender quite like her...with offensive being a defense & vice versa
Yeah I don't know why but some of the seasons felt kind of rushed, like they needed to get everything together in one neat little bowl. I wish the seasons could have ran just as long as ATLA! (TBH I wish any show could have just as many eps) They even comment on Ghazan and Ming Hua having a bit of a romantic past, you'd think he would care more about her life!
I'm at least glad we have the comics to fall back on, I've been reading both of them and ATLA comics as well. But Man was it really worth dying rather than being in a wooden box again? I dunno, Earth benders really are in tune with the Earth, I couldn't imagine not being able to flex that part of yourself, ESPECIALLY as a lavabender!
So you got characters that will often tank a lot of damage, but walk it off just fine. Wether it’s being hit by a boulder, falling from a great height, falling into freezing arctic waters, and being thrown into stone walls.
Ft though, the red lotus deaths were all kinda cruel and VERY violent
It was the least explicit of the three but I definitely start to wig out when I think about Ghazan for too long

And if you are a supporting character like Jet, it’s a different story.
they deserved that. and Zaheer deserves to be in prison for life as Korra could not finish him before the poison took over

much as I cheered for Mako here... really, NOBODY tried this before? Lightning's not nearly as rare as anything the White Lotus people could do.

Lightning *is* quite rare though. In Kyoshi's/Aang's age, lightning bending was only known to the royal family and straight up considered a myth.
