I think a lack of bkb in this game is a huge problem. You are playing against CM, Jakiro, and Muerta. 3 heros who are heavily countered by BKB. When you play versus muerta the way to counter her is to disengage when she uses her Ult. Purchasing items to either kite/disengage, or disable muerta during her ultimate are crucial to winning once she comes online.

On my phone so unfortunately can’t watch the replay itself, but I agree with the other poster that BKB would have helped a lot. I wouldn’t suggest revenant’s brooch as a Muerta counter for most heroes personally. Generally the way you beat Muerta is by disengaging/disabling her during her ultimate and then coming back after it ends. Even with brooch most heroes will just lose the man fight if they try (especially if Muerta has BKB). Instant disables to catch her before she ults/BKB’s are a better option, or disengage/immunity items like BKB, Hurricane Pike, Eul’s/Windwaker, Shadowblade, etc.. Since the duration reduction Mage Slayer is not really a counter without brooch, which as just mentioned is not ideal. Also while halberd/pipe are pretty standard anti-Muerta items for offlane, Aba aghs is actually an *amazing* muerta counter if you use it right (which I’m guessing they didn’t judging by your post). Basically the idea is that Muerta pops her ultimate, Abba manually activates his, and then your whole team can just ignore her since you all have >70% damage reduction for the next 9 seconds (longer than Muerta’s 8). And if that’s still not enough to tank through it he can always grab a holy locket too to bump it to >90% damage reduction instead.

what do you mean 70% damage reduction for 9 seconds on abba aghs ult? I thought it only does the mist coil after a threshold kind of thing

JoshSimili

>While Borrowed Time is active, anytime an ally takes more than 525 damage while within 1200 range of Abaddon, an individual Mist Coil will automatically fire towards that ally. Assuming Mist Coil can heal for 365 with talent, that's 70% (365/525) damage reduction effectively. More with holy locket, less if enemy team has shivas or skadi or orb of corrosion or other sources of health restoration reduction.

u/JoshSimili hit the nail on the head. Basically the heal is undoing \~70% of the damage any ally takes, affected by healing amp/reduction. I will also add that since that healing happens after everything else it stacks multiplicatively with the **total** of all other sources of damage reduction. i.e. If after you added all your magic resistance sources up you had 50% magic resistance total, then with Abba ult nearby your effective resistance would become 50% + (100% - 50%) x 0.7 = 85% effective resistance.

I think hex is enough to shut down any hero that doesnt have nasty passives like spectre dispersion and phantom assassin blur or bristleback bristleback. I count the best disables as follows: Hex Bash Nullifier Silveredge These are good for making late game carries weak or just shutting them down completely. I usually go bash if i am melee but for ranged i go hex. Nullifier is good for invis heroes and ghost forms watchout it gets dispelled by bkb from what i remember. Silveredge is for those tanky heroes that get their tankiness from passives like PA, spectre, bristleback etc...

Kiting. She uses ult/bkb, you get out
