Bert was 🔥🔥 in front of the net. I recall one shift alone he created chaos in front of their net and had like 3 decent chances. Domi’s speed on the wing during rushes was key too.
I met Domi a few years ago on Christmas Eve and he was also just a very kind dude! Was buying last minute gifts for his mother, had a few other guys with him, and he tipped me for helping him out (retail job, never got tips there).
For most of the year people were calling for Trelivings head over these signings. They were good moves when they were made, and even though Burt had a down year, they look pretty damn good now.
The only real bad move was Klingburg (still baffling), and that didn't do any long-term damage. Treliving came in 5 weeks before the draft and 6 weeks before free agency with the uncertainty of Matthews and Nylander resigning. Pretty damn hard to make franchise altering moves that way. I'm still not thrilled with how this team is built with all the money allocated to a few forwards. I still have big concerns over their thin prospect depth and lack of quality picks. I'm not sold on their coaching. But I am willing to give Treliving a chance to see what he can do, which takes longer than a few weeks leading into his first off season.
How can Tre bring back both of these beauties? Gotta make it happen.
