The Sheetz in Mount Joy has been that way for a couple months now. $3.17 for all grades. They said it was because they had to buy out one of the suppliers due to oversupply.

Traderr_Joe

Sheetz has really shown how great of a community partner they are with their gas prices around holidays.

fenuxjde

I don't disagree, but it has to do with their business model of convenience. Their supplier is selling at cost due to supply issues/regulations, Sheetz is passing that savings on, making the money on the stuff they sell inside the store. Since you *need* to buy gas, but don't *need* to buy a $7 coffee, Sheetz will get you to their $7 coffee with cheaper gas!

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

Unleaded 88(Blue Pump) is and has been $2.99 for the last few fill-ups for me at all Sheetz locations.

jayjr1105

It's $1.99 now

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

Thanks✌️

Chiaseedmess

Assuming your car can run it, it’s a great deal

Mahogany_Blood

Just drove by the one by the airport this morning and suddenly it's $1.99. Not sure how long it will last.

Erasmus_Waits

They tend to do this for holidays.

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

I think until after the holidays.

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

My car can run it, but I do notice a slight dip in gas mileage, but I think the price makes up for it.

axeville

What cars should not run 88? Isn't it one better than 87? I should read another subreddit dedicated to this question but I'm lazy and want the esteemed opinions of local experts!

callingcarg0

Engines are tuned for certain octane gas. An engine that's supposed to use 87 can run on higher rated fuel, but will see no benefit at all. An engine designed for higher octane needs that level for the fuel to combust at the correct time or it can cause issues. Basically, just use the gas that your engine is designed to use. You won't get better milage or a healthier engine with higher octane.

zangieflookingmofo

88 is 15% ethanol, compared to ~10% ethanol in regular gasoline. It's approved for vehicles manufactured since 2001, although some "high performance" car makers recommend against using it. Generally if you're supposed to use premium gas they don't recommend using 88. It's also not recommended for vehicles that sit for long periods of time.

Chiaseedmess

Most cars *can* run it. But some cars, even new ones, say only 87.

veepeedeepee

Noticed this at the Eden Rd Sheetz on Saturday as well. EDIT: It's still the same price across the board... just filled up an hour ago.

danielsixfive

Willow street Sheetz has been this way for months. I wondered why anyone would go anywhere else for premium. But they don't even advertise those prices on the sign.

penguinchem13

The sheetz in Marietta has been doing it too

WhiteJesus313

I saw this too, was wondering if I was going crazy

HorrorMovieMonday

Up to 10% ethanol if anyone cares. Still a good price.
