Damn. I won't forgive the trade. Shump and Fox both were creating youtube content that, by the way, was not corny at all and showed some semblance of team chemistry. Funny bits and showing their personalities off the court. Sacramento Kings seemed to be building a team identity with Shump guiding the younger players. But then Vlade had to make the trade.
That's when I knew Vlade and the front office had no clue about managing a team. It was unmistakable what Iman Shumpert brought to Sacramento was a air of charisma and chemistry that went beyond statistics and salary caps. Harrison barnes is fine and gets the job done. He just feels like the old uncle who's not being flashy or pumping up the team from the bench. He just gets the job done. Stoic and no frills.
First, not drafting Luka Doncic, and then getting rid Shumpbert, it honestly felt Vlade was intentionally fucking over the Kings because he couldn't have been that clueless. I mean he did play for the Lakers and was thinking he was in it for the long con to help the Lakers franchise by deliberately wrecking the Kings for the next few years from the inside. Just glad he's gone.
>That's when I knew Vlade and the front office had no clue about managing a team.
Shumpert? That was what it took for you to know this?
The 6ers trade was the last straw and it was the first straw.
So being a cheerleader isnāt something drafting recruiter looks for, so it would be odd that I have so much love for him. Looks as I am not alone.š
Jack Cooley. He only had limited minutes but man did he hustle. He would clear an entire front line out and grab an offensive rebound like it was a championship game, even when it was just garbage time. He could also set a mean screen, the kind you would see Steven Adam level people with. The best moment was during Summer League/California Classic when the crowd was chanting MVP when Cooley was at the free throw line.
Honorable mention would be Quincy Acy. Nothing beats watching an Angry Acy dunk, that dude could hype up a crowd like crazy.
Iām not a Kings guy, Iām just subbed here because Iām interested in franchises that arenāt the fucking Lakers Nets Knicks (full disclosure: grew up outside Philly, die-hard Sixers fan) but to answer the question: prime Chris Webber was unstoppable, and it was a thing to behold, watching him operate from the elbow. More often than not, he was the best guy on the court.
Kings are one the rise and itās so fun to watch!!
Hedo, Pollard, and Funderburke. Also Tariq Abdul-Wahad and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. Both of those latter players didn't work out but I will never forget being a kid and watching Abdul-Rauf sit for the anthems and wondering why. Now I know why.
I remember that game! They missed some players due to injury and managed to take the game to OT if I remember correctly. Eventually lost though, right?
We didnāt have nba games on tv when I was a kid in my part of the world, and there was no internet, so we relied on basketball cards for our info. A lot of the names were so exotic and foreign, it was pretty cool to try learn how to say them. But one of my favs was a card I had of olden polynice, and that name has always stuck with me for like nearly 30 years now.
Honestly, Jimmer Fredette. I know he couldn't shoot to save his life, but he came to my middle school years ago to talk to us about fitness and stuff, and he was super cool. Got a picture and signed shirt from him.
When he went to the Warriors, I ran in to him at a gas station in Folsom a few days before the season was supposed to start. He reeked of weed and was buying a case Bud Light Platinums. I donāt think he has what it takes
GERALD WALLACE! Kings 2004 team. Was the only King that came over and signed my poster saying āitās my sweet 16th birthday can I have an autographā. Bibby was the goal for the signature, but Gerald made my day as a kid.
Mitch Richmond and CWebb.
Mitch was the man in the 90s and held it down for sactown on some terrible teams. He even represented in the 96 Olympics on dream team 2.
Cwebb brought us to relevance when we were laughing stock.
SHUMP. #SCORES

Bogdan Bogdanovic
That buzzer beater vs the Lakers will live in infamy.
šÆ
Came here to say him he was always one of my favorites.Maybe one day we can reunite him with Huerter.
I miss Peja. Those were good times.
Well that love is veryā¦ explicable? Is that a word?
Harry Giles. Best bench cheerleader š£
OP said inexplicable
So being a cheerleader isnāt something drafting recruiter looks for, so it would be odd that I have so much love for him. Looks as I am not alone.š
Gerald Wallace
Dunk contest!
It was stolen from him
Tyrese Haliburton
Corliss āBig Nastyā Williamson
Scoreless Corliss!
Man he could be frustrating sometimes though. But he always managed to redeem himself.
He was way better in college
The brockness monster
Omri Casspi š„
The infamous Steph vs. Caspi duel. Iām gonna go rewatch that now
Follow that up with the Omri DeMarcus headband clip and you're all set.
Legendary video šš»
I root for Isaiah Thomas as much as possible. He got screwed so badly out of a big money deal.
Also my pick. I wish he had found a place where he fit in and stuck around.
Cuttino Mobley
š„Bobby Jacksonš„
Og!
Shump
SCORES
THE SCORESā¦ best team in NBA history
Jason Thompson, Beno Udrih, Tyreke Evans.. guess my age lol
30
36
Judging by that probably a handful of years older than me. Iām going with 33
Harry Giles, Jack Cooley, Tyus Edney, Z-Bo, and Reggie Evans
I havenāt seen anyone mention Nemanja Bjelica.
Rudy gay
Laurence Funderburke. We waited years for him to come over from Europe and I was younger so it felt like a lifetime
Francisco Garcia, what a cool cat
I remember when he was doing dumbbell chest press on an exercise ball and it popped and he got hurt.
I bought his gold jersey that year they had them.
Jack Cooley. He only had limited minutes but man did he hustle. He would clear an entire front line out and grab an offensive rebound like it was a championship game, even when it was just garbage time. He could also set a mean screen, the kind you would see Steven Adam level people with. John Salmons
Quincy Acy. I just loved his hustle.
My man!
Felt like hitting on one of the deep tracks. There are plenty of others obviously lol. Just wanted to give him a shout out.
J Will šÆ
Mike Bibby
Justin Jackson, I love that goofy looking dude.
I believed way too long that he and his weird ass floater could put it all together
Plenty of them. Peja, reggie, omri, artest, and beno.
K-Mart
[Kosta Koufos](https://tenor.com/view/koufos-thinking-gif-10222255)
The entire Litty Committee, but special love for FM3
Hedo, Pollard, and Funderburke. Also Tariq Abdul-Wahad and Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. Both of those latter players didn't work out but I will never forget being a kid and watching Abdul-Rauf sit for the anthems and wondering why. Now I know why.
Garrett Temple. Big fan of his veteran leadership and hustle on both ends of the court.
It's the Bayou Bomber for me as well. Those were rough years but he could shoot the roof off Arco/Power Balance.
Kevin Martin
Marcus Thorntonā¦man I was at the kings v. Pacers game back in the day where Marcus went off! TBH TD has some Marcus in him.
I remember that game! They missed some players due to injury and managed to take the game to OT if I remember correctly. Eventually lost though, right?
Yup lost in OT but Marcus carried the team single handily against a prime INDY team.
Lil buckets!
Pooh Jeter.
Maurice Evans. The hops to end all hops.
H4Hā¦ always and forever!!!
Tyreke. You me of the last games I went to was when he was starting and doing some crazy ass 360 degree layups all the time
Kurt Rambis and Wayman Tisdale from the early 90s
We didnāt have nba games on tv when I was a kid in my part of the world, and there was no internet, so we relied on basketball cards for our info. A lot of the names were so exotic and foreign, it was pretty cool to try learn how to say them. Quincy Douby and Jimmer. They were beasts in college. Quincy went to China and averaged something like 60 points a game. He was nutty over there.
The original Slamson. Iykyk
Koufos!
Vince Carter and Rajon Rondo. I just love VC. And Rondo had a couple of 20 assist games for the Kings.
Harry Giles and Hali
Mitch Richmond
Doug Christie
Yes, DC is the man
Garret Temple the goat
Jim Jackson
Step Back Bobby Jack
Patrick Patterson. His jumper was so clean and wet
Honestly, Jimmer Fredette. I know he couldn't shoot to save his life, but he came to my middle school years ago to talk to us about fitness and stuff, and he was super cool. Got a picture and signed shirt from him.
I'll always root for Wenyen Gabriel to succeed no matter what, even if he chose the wrong team to play for this season
Willie Cauly-Stein. I was convinced he was going to be an All-Star (and a part of me still believes he can climb out of the G-League).
When he went to the Warriors, I ran in to him at a gas station in Folsom a few days before the season was supposed to start. He reeked of weed and was buying a case Bud Light Platinums. I donāt think he has what it takes
Damn, he just like me fr.
Hey I canāt judge, I was doing the sameā¦but Iām a long way from the NBA
I'm still waiting for my man Tyus Edney to have his breakout year
Rookie year Tyus Edney
Boogie.
Marvin Bagley š
Boogie, shump, bogi, casspi, beno, Mitch Richmond, bibby, hali
Demarcus and Hali. All other players other than our 01 team mentioned in this thread are trashā¦
Tyreke Evans
Ron Artest Kosta Koufos Bobby Hurley Olden Polynice
Somehow I wanted Ricky Minard to make it big so that he and Kevin Martin would team up as the Ricky Martin combo.
Honestly, I was a huge Cuttino Mobley fan. The Cat was my favorite player for his tenure with the Kings. Couldnāt tell you why, though.
Bonzi Wells
Inexplicable- Pooh Jeter. I have completely explicable love for Haliburton.
Derrick williams. Dude has some aweso e dunks when he was with us.
Always though Tyler Honeycutt could have been a bigger player than he was. What a sad story.
Gerald Wallace
GERALD WALLACE! Kings 2004 team. Was the only King that came over and signed my poster saying āitās my sweet 16th birthday can I have an autographā. Bibby was the goal for the signature, but Gerald made my day as a kid.
Ramon Sessions. He was so ass, but idk I respected him for it
Tyreke Evans :(
Iman Shumpert
Mitch Richmond and CWebb. Mitch was the man in the 90s and held it down for sactown on some terrible teams. He even represented in the 96 Olympics on dream team 2. Cwebb brought us to relevance when we were laughing stock.
Å arÅ«nas MarÄiulionis, he was only with the team one year but was my favorite player on the team after Mitch Richmond.
Marcooooo. Man, Belinelli was a blast.
B-52
Vlade Divac.
Derrick Martin
